What hidden meaning did we overlook in Thor The Dark World (2013) that makes rewatching it after Avengers Endgame and Thor Ragnarok so rewarding? How did the movie set up the Infinity Stones in a way that made revisiting Asgard in the Endgame "Time Heist" so critical, and why was the Reality Stone aka Aether so different from the other stones? In this #InfinitySaga Rewatch, Erik Voss explores all the details you missed in Thor 2, including Odin's secret history and the only-recently-revealed Thor The Dark World alternate ending scene that would have completely altered Thor Ragnarok and Thor 4. How could Thor The Dark World set up The Eternals movie and Thor Love and Thunder? What HUGE LIE was hidden in the Thor The Dark World post-credit scene? And why, once again, is Loki the secret hero of this second Thor movie?

The cat 🐈 on the chalkboard is Chewie from Captain Marvel?
With that many emojis you look like one of those scammers pretending to give away gift cards.
"No, I don't think I will."
Thor hammer was return the moment after it was taken. Why would they delay it
No, I don't think I will
Paul Rudd's face when Thor is explaining the Ether is the funniest thing ever. He's so interested in such a terrible story

@@fear_cheetah2079EA...THports, it's in the stone!
It's because Thor talks like Luis

"well done , your just decapitated your grandfather" followed 1 second later with "tada"
Sassy Loki is sassy
Indeed
Okay so I'm not the only one who noticed the "tada". Good. I'm glad it wasn't just me losing my mind.
Is this a CinemaSins reference
The hammer trick is also used in ragnorock against surtur
Krzysztof Bartczak Ik 😑😑
Plus, the same way Thor landing with his hammer hitting the ground, making thunder to come out. He did it in Age of Ultron in the Battle of Sokovia in the church and did it the exact same way in Ragnorok in Muspelheim.
0:10 The dark elves whooo !! 😂😂.
Gets me every time
+Manish Raj
It was hilarious.
I guess that was reflective of how they're aware of most MCU fans not liking this movie, even calling it "the worst MCU film" (before Captain Marvel).
This was the best part of the dark world😂😂😂
Manish Raj totally gets me every time
@@thealjohnsonshow2188 eh captain marvel want that bad. It was a female movie so that's really good actually
@@danielg7578 A movie shouldn't just be good because "it was a female movie"
I don't get why this movie gets so much flack, Loki's arc was absolutely brilliant.
Loki is easily the best part of TDW. But the rest of the story is kind of muddled. There were a lot of rewrites and issues with the director on this. Plus Loki stealing every scene he's in completely overshadows Thor.
This channel is very underrated, more ppl need to see this
Yeah I agree 2.5 million people aren't enough
I just feel with all this effort and stuff this channel could be way bigger
Screen crush is underrated
『ELECTRIC SHEEP』 They put effort into making videos with Easter eggs and tie-ins that are lesser known and harder to find, even pulling stuff from obscure tweets from the directors. They go through multiple rewatches of these movies to find stuff not really documented yet.
I agree more people need to see this, but the channels not underrated, and maybe its just that not that many people like pop culture, I mean I know I do!
I’m surprised that you didn’t call out how the Captain America song was playing when Loki went as CA
same
I'm not the only one who noticed
I feel like this movie was very underrated but was one of the biggest setups for phase three
avengers age of ultron made more sense than this movie
I didnt enjoy it, but I did watch it in a cabin un the middle of nowhere (not the planet) watching on a broken laptop, so thats probably why.
best marvel movie
I liked it tho
ChasmaHyena no
This movie has one of my favorite scores in the whole MCU. Into Eternity, the music played during the viking funeral, is so good 👍🏽
I personally was sad to see Patrick Doyle replaced. I listen to the first THOR movie OST a thousand times - I usually play it at work for motivation and dramatic effects.
Epic scene, fantastic soundtrack.
That scene really is beautiful and moving. I wish there had been less of Jane and more of Frigga in this movie.
I've always loved this movie, and I don't care what people say about it. It's funny and tragic and Loki and Thor doesn't seem their own parodies like in Ragnarok. Most underrated movie ever.
Exactly!
Agreed
I liked this movie. Everyone says it’s the worst, but it really isn’t. Is definitely not the best, but it is not a bad movie
Correct, in my opinion, MCU doesn't have a "bad" movie, they are all very good and I enjoyed them a lot. Sure, some are better than others, but none are as bad as everyone is saying.
Heck, I went to watch Thor 2 on my birthday back in 2014 and at that point it actually felt far more interesting than the 1st thor movie.
@@gomber_2599 which ones
What are you on???
Ik I like it a lot and the soundtrack was lit too
You guys kill with your analysis of all the films you do! Awesome job, mister Voss.
Scott Lang looks so happy when Thor is talking because he reminds Scott of Luis
14:06 the TA-DA gets me everytime.
So Loki. No one gives me credit, I give myself credit 😂
Watched TDW recently, my perception was affected by everyone saying how bad it is. Surprised myself with how much I liked it. Absolutely loved your video. Keep up the great work.
p.s. Odin's ravens are watching
15:31 nah nah, that’s Mustafar

I though I was the only one that heard that too 😂I’m glad I’m not alone
Loki really went from lvl 1 crook to lvl 100 boss in this movie
This movie wasn’t even that bad
Compared to other MCU movies it is bad but as a general superhero movie it is alright
Tushar Bhat I don’t even think it’s in the top 5 worst marvel movies

This is the most underrated and, i think, the most important movie in the series.
This movie gets a lot of grief but it has great visuals...
"The Nexus of all reality" hits different after watching Loki
It's not all that bad. Still very watchable. This was still early on in the MCU when they were still honing their craft. Definitely not as bad as it's rep.
does Anyone else think Loki is the best character ever in the MCU. Or is that just me🤔
Yes!
Loki is the best
Most loveable character
100%. I am dying of suspense for the Disney+ series.
@@themarvelousmadamespodcast6035 YESSS!!💚
Thor the Dark World is good, I liked it very much when it came out
thor the dark world is the first movie to mention parallel universes because of that chalkboard, but yes dr.strange is the first to actually introduce it both with speech and visuals, funnily enough the two movies that first mention the multiverse are both underrated and slept on
After this marvel rewatch you could do a breakdwown of the 80's classic movies like the thing, terminator, aliens, robocop, predator etc. it would be awesome. hope like the idea...
Mkof honestly I hope they do. As much as I love their marvel content because they are so good at it I do feel like they use it as a crutch because of its popularity. I would love to see them talk about these other franchises that they haven’t touched yet
Fun fact: Erik loves the Alien movie franchise. I'm sure if enough people asked, he'd have to at least try ;)
Also at 11:07 is the actual Schrodinger Equation, Marvel writers did their homework
Absolutely incredible! You never fail to impress and inform me. Thanks so much for the continuous uploads. Every time one of your videos comes out, I can’t wait to watch it.
I like this movie's story representation more so than Ragnarok there I said it. This movie treated death of a character like a serious thing and a funny joke huh
I agree. I prefered the tone of this movie over the trying-too-hard-to-be-funny Ragnarok. It's like comparing the tone of GTA IV to GTA V. Most people appear to shift towards more ridiculous concepts despite the story tone being better executed within it's non-ridiculous counterpart.
9:04 whatever noise that is needs to be the next “boom”
5:43 when the stones line up they make the infinity gauntlet if you look behind the stones
Loki as Cap, foretold in Loki as Cap in Endgame!!!
Everybody knows that
15:40 had me laugh out loud - bravo!
That scene in Endgame with Thor and Fridga is one of my favourites from the entire MCU. It sets up Thor’s arc tomorrow and on as the person he is instead of the person he is supposed to be, as he tells Valkyrie at the end of Endgame. It’s so emotional and honest. Truly touching.
i might not be the biggest thor 1 and 2 fan but boy do i love loki more and more each time i rewatch them
I don't care what people say , I liked this movie
specially cuz of Loki
Good timing I just watched Thor the dark world
These re watches make me appreciate the MCU more
The footmouse got me, i was about to buy it lol
At the end of the promo. "Good luck, I won't meet you there." Had me in tears it was so funny, but times are tough so I get it.
Thor is me explaining why I got in trouble at school
Chalkdown😂2 in the morning half asleep and you still make me laugh and stay listening to the last second 🙌🏽
9:44 Seriously I want an IN-UNIVERSE explanation as to who gets to decided what universes get which number designations! Like, parallels usually vibrate at different frequencies and that's the explanation as to how that person is undoubtedly proven to be from a parallel universe. Just SAY that the number is the numarical frequency at which they vibrate!
The after credit scene looks like a reference to “The Room” specifically the oh hi Mark scene. From the roof layout to how the background just doesn’t look right.
Love these videos, they really help pass the time! Thank you!
the dark world was my favorite for a long time bc my heart belonged to Loki lol
I literally recommend this channel to everyone I talk with, it’s just such well thought out insight into these amazing movies. I’m a subscriber for life!
People in norse mythology only go to Valhalla when they die in battle, dying of old age is considered dishonorable and Valhalla is part of Asgard
Wow the footmouse showed up I was like WTF seriously??
I think it is cool when one actor gives a performance first, and then another actor has to mimic it. Daniel Radcliffe did that for each of the characters that transforms into Harry for "Deathly Hallows - Part One."
I'm gonna watch the movie again
I'm sorry
17:26 i dont know why, but this shot here gave me “i dont like sand scene” vibes
There was so many hidden gems in this movie...
Discord REPRESENT!
BDW?
And... Loki is once again the HERO! They should be called Loki and Loki 2 😍
While the Kids and Jane discover the gravitational annomaly some of the containers are placed in a similar way of the rocks of Stonehenge. Setting the date of the construction of the site arround the fist conversion and explaining why Selvig was there! Just a easter egg I discover in my rewatch
I literally just watched this movie😭
I really like Odin's dog like grrr on Loki, whrn he tried to stop him and Thor in angry conversation.

The amount of likes this has is how many calories Thor will lose

Sean Clarke only 83 wow
Kronans first appeared in Journey into Mystery #83, the same issue that introduced Thor.
I'm loving these

Darn you Eric everytime I watch one of your videos you make me want to have a MCU Marathon. 😃😃 FYI I'm not complaining. I simply love your videos. Keep it up.
Love these videos!!
The Well a episode of Agents of SHIELD deals will the aftermath of this film.
Wich episode ??
Did anyone notice that Loki said “well done, you decapitated YOUR grandfather” to Thor instead of “OUR grandfather”.
Love the picture of young Erik at Stonehenge. Hope you had a great holiday here!
I love the song at 15:42. Too funny.
8:00 this wouldn’t be possible because cap returned mjölnir
In infinity war ,when the guardians are about to confront Thanos , did you notice a glass collector tank that may have been a hint to Shuma-Gorath ? You can see the tentacles and the dark greenish color . Check it out when you get to that rewatch and thanks for the content! Thanks guys!
ILY GUYS SM
5:43. the fist is actually Thanos hand (gauntlet) with all the stones in it.
that pinned tweet is just amazing
One thing that I thought about: when Jane was being inspected/healed by the 'quantum field generator' in asgard, the nurses use some sort of magic that is VERY similar to Dr. Strange's as well as the other mage shown in Guardians of the galaxy. I wonder if The Mystic Arts were taught around other parts of the universe aswell????
My girlfriend and I are doing an Infinity Saga rewatch, and I’m so glad I found these videos. Thor is the real mvp of the Avengers. This video has got me so hyped to keep rewatching these movies.
1:22 Eminem?

Just watched this movie again. Not as bad as I remember, I feel like it's just that it could have been so so so much better.
Currently typing with my foot
I really thought Thor 2 was pretty good and seriously underrated.
The middle section in the movie with the heist is the best part of the movie
I love that Van Nuys shirt !
"Mind the gap" has been a phrase for over 50yrs at least on the subway. Cap being from Brooklyn would know that. In Thor, well, he is in the subway (Tube)
the "mind the gap" in the tube stations are always said whenever a tube train is approaching the station. So i dont personally think that it is a callback to cap first avenger, but they might of added it into cap not know that people would use it as a callback. still great and love the content tho!
Thor marries sif in the comics which would be so cool in the mcu if they go around fighting bad guys like badass power couple
