I just wanted to say on this video not necessarily regarding this video but I just wanted to say that I really really love and appreciate your thorough videos. I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and it’s been the best ever! I made the retro sling bag from your video!!! Thank you and keep it up!!!!

St Jude children's hospital the only charity that I donate to regular. Because every time you donate 100% of the donation goes to helping children. Wonderful wonderful wonderful place!!! When my godson was getting treatment they paid for his mom to stay the hotel next to the hospital and while he was there they paid for a single room at the hospital for him and his mother.

I really REALLY appreciate how Lindsey does her videos, she doesn’t make them private to only you can see them if you’ve purchased the pattern (usually) & I LOOVE how she doesn’t charge for them. That’s why she is one of my top fav pattern designers. So I can see how the pattern is made & say if she does use binding (just as an example not that I’ve seen much from her using binding) I can see if it’s something I can try to do or not. And I can’t STAND when designers charge for the video that goes along with the pattern. There is one creator who does it & she’s a YT as well, it just annoys me, so I don’t buy her patterns bc I don’t want to pay $5-$7 for the video on top of it. I get that the creator should be paid for their work but at the same time, lots of people are visual learners, so it’s like they are paying for the instructions. Idk I know lots may not agree with me. I’m just saying I appreciate that Lindsey doesn’t do that.

I like to see the videos first too. Just to see if it’s made in way that suits me.
But I have bought several patterns from Linds & will continue to do so. I watch both her videos & Laurens & Jess’s where available. I find it helps me so much. But I’ve only seen Lauren make one video of the designer that you speak of and I find that for me, by not having the videos public, it’s not as appealing for me to purchase the pattern.
Also like to see just one page of the pattern so I can tell if it’s done in a way that easy for me to understand (even just a page on how slip pocket or something else basic & common to most bags). So many pattern designers don’t do this which is a shame.

One thing that I have found after many years of sewing ,when it comes to doing that top stitching over the edge of the inside of the zipper ,is to sew from right to left instead of left to right. For some reason there seems to be more control if the bulk of the bag or whatever you are working on is on the left and not on the right under the arm of the machine. If I am wrong in the positioning , I apologize. I do no always use a zipper foot to do this stitching , on occasion a small foot that will only have a center needle position, with a small I/8 inch bar on the right side of that foot It will allow you to ride next to your zipper and you can control the stitch easier on the fabric. This is turn will allow you to maneuver the corners. Hoping I described this clear enough . You are an excellent sewer and teacher and sometimes we have to find another way to do what needs to be done with another machine foot. Your bag is fabulous and wish I had see it before I had finished a computer bag with an adjustable over the shoulder or cross body strap. I am going to open up the bag and reinforce the bottom with a piece of foam . We never stop learning , no matter how many years under our belt.

Would love if you could show how to make one that the zip only goes down each side part way and with a handle. I have watched a few but the bag is too large I really like how thin this one is.

Love this design but know your laptop and use with caution. This can insulate you laptop trapping I heat. Most PC laptops have fans this can block and the aluminum body of the Mac pro is a giant heatsink dispersing heat out of the machine. Before I knew better I had a laptop burnout and start smoking because I was using it on a blanket to long in the 2000's.
