We always LOVE seeing these go up. Small box games are some of our favourites so this series is really important to us, especially as we start to load our bags up for post-COVID cafe trips again! We adore you both but... more Boston please!
Hello Amy and Maggie, Thank you so much for showing off our coins in such a lovely video. As a small company passionate about making these metal coins, it means the world to us. (I loved Boston by the way, he is so cute) Also a small curiosity for those watching the video, our Lisboa coins were made inspired by the same coins used in Portugal during the Lisbon earthquake (when the game passes). Kind regards from Brazil
Love Boston!!! Especially when he barks outta nowhere!! Hehehe. Lisa and I were happy that we knew most of the games today!! Lisa and I have Village Green, love it so much. We are going to play it today. Thank you for another great video!
Well you would enjoy hanging out with him because he barks out of no where a lot and scares us all of the time LOL!! Sorry this reply is so late but very glad to hear you both enjoy Village Green. A very cute little game in such a contained package.
So glad my postcard made it! And it is from Karl instead of Kane (sorry for the bad penmanship!). And nice to meet Boston as well! It’s been wonderful to see your wall of postcards grow :)
Little Boston is so adorable in that pink jumper . Just perfectly content to chill on Maggie's lap. Really enjoyed the Shy Button reviews with the rankings as well. I haven't played any of them but I love how much game they're able to fit into each one. I love the art of Village Green as well and it looks like a good fit for my collection as a filler with my non gaming friends.
Loved meeting Boston.😊 Too cute in his pink jumper. Those wallet sized games would be great for restaurant/pub play. I've had Village Green for a few months now. I like playing it competitive, but also makes a great solitaire experience. I've only once achieved master gardner status. It really is a tricky puzzle of what do I sacrifice here to gain over there. It can be a rare experience when all things line up without opposing scoring conditions. But, it plays so fast, I can get 3-4 games in a relatively short time. Thanks for another great review!
Looks like Boston spotted a squirrel! Dogs and cats always make youtube videos better! I have a few Button Shy games, but I haven't played any of them. I really gotta give them a try :) And I agree that your Scythe minis look great! Seems like you have some good artistic skills, Amy!
Boston is absolutely adorable! The coins you shared look amazing. However, I am trying to avoid the temptation of going down that road. We have one set of "all purpose" metal coins (from Seafall) that we use for almost any game that has cardboard coins (eww :)). If I buy custom coins for one game, there will be no stopping me from purchasing them for all the other games we own.
Thank you, always love your work! And love all these Button Shy games too! Sedlec is actually a village/suburb(?) 60 min by train from Prague where a famous, ancient bone church is located. The whole inside is decorated with bones & skulls (😬😬😬😬😬😬), including "chandeliers"!. Very busy with tourists. Creepy but fascinating! We visited in the good old days before you-know-what came along 😷.
I like to work with your videos always playing in the background, I don't know why but it's very soothing :) Also, congratulation on 6 thousand subscribers!
Misty morning vacationing on Cape Cod, but watching ThinkerThemer over tea. Postcard to come. :-) I always look forward to Small Talk, but especially so when I saw this episode was including Button Shy Games and Village Green. Just played Circle the Wagons with my friend, Jake, last week. Sprawlopolis came with me for solo games on holiday (along with Limes and Orchard). Excellent little games. I really want to get Skulls of Sedlec and Village Green, too. So good to hear you liked them both! Thanks, as always, for my Monday morning bright spot!
My order from the Button Shy campaign is on it's way. I went for Liberation and it's expansion because I'm looking for a deduction game for 2 players. Hoping my brother and I will enjoy it. Boston seems to be one of those chill dogs I love hanging out with. Super adorable. I really should send the postcards so I don't feel guilty of not sending the postcards yet. Guess I'll wait until I pressure myself enough to force myself to actually do it! :D
Completely agree with your rankings of the Button Shy Games. However… our fav that we play more than any is Supertall… we love the expansions and this is just the best filler game. Next order you do is highly recommend getting it. Happy gaming from Perth xx
Those button shy games are surprising considering they are so tiny! Have you reviewed the small box game in small talk? Emma and i got that recently and enjoyed that. Nice to see my postcard reached you ok.
We have played it with the executioners! But I dont **think** maggie tried playing it solo! So glad you like this one too. Do you have any others that you enjoy that we haven't played?
Hola, nice to meet Boston finally. My IFQ- if a publisher sends you a game copy to review and that’s not your genre. What do you do? Do you say not to review it as it’s not your style or you still would try out a different genre. ? 😘
Haha, you really should have shown the cardboard money that comes with Lisboa, it’s the worst. I have a set of Viticulture coins that I use in games that use small denominations, and use the “Iron Clay” chips that they made for the new editions of Brass for everything else that didn’t come with coins. Those chips are really nice.
I love metal coins, but I don't like that they seem to sell them to be pretty thematically specific, so I haven't yet bought any for myself. Though, that said, if there is one game's coins in metal form I'd be sorely tempted to get, it'd be the coins from Vikings. The design of those coins is fantastic.
Boston! I hope we can get a cameo from him every now and then 😁. I sent you guys a postcard a couple of weeks ago, hopefully you receive it in time for the next small talk!
Glad to hear that you liked Skulls of Sedlec so much. It's an interesting game, right? You probably know this, but the game is based on the Sedlec Ossuary, which the designer had previously visited while traveling in Europe. Maggie, have you played Monstrance (the solo expansion) yet? Pretty fun! Seeing Boston (yay) makes me think of an IAQ: If a board game were created with Boston as the main character, what would the theme and mechanics of the game be? (I'm thinking that maybe you'd have a big rondel and players would move around it, picking up heaps of food at each stop as they go.) P.S. Glad my postcard finally made it to you!
Did not know that!! How interesting. I don't think we have Monstrance but we have played with the executioner expansion. A couple of people have mentioned the solo for it so I'll have to pick that up next time for Maggie (unless it came with it and i just threw it over my shoulder "solo? nah" lol joking of course)!! Love the IAQ! Going on the list. Thank you again so much for going to the trouble to send us a postcard... we really appreciate it! So happy with how the wall looks :D
Hi, a native Czech here (living in Brisbane) yes the Skulls of Sedlec ( c pronounced as zz like in the word pizza, not c as k for cat 😃. It is based on the ossuary near Kutná Hora in the Czech Republic a great place to visit, while a little creepy, Google it 😋. I am so glad to see when ever my birth country or culture is well represented within my favourite hobby, there is so much to discover. Thank you for bringing this game to my attention as before this video I didn't know it existed, might have to look for it. A great video once again 👍
When taking small games when travelling, have you ever taken an Escape Room game? The Unlock series, uses just cards for the most part, so it might be a fun option for the future.
So did Maggie not get the murdering people joke or did she just ignore you? 😂 That reaction was 💯 percent the type I'd expect my wife to make in the same situation 🤣. Hey, I laughed haha

Yeeeeessss! I've been waiting for the dog reveal! He's adorable!
Omg same!!! I’m so happy to finally see Boston! He is great on camera!
Give the people what they want: more Boston!

Definitely going to look into Village Green, thanks. Nice to meet you Boston! 🐶
My wife and I really really enjoy Skulls of Sedlec. Definitely a great theme for us too
Awww Boston is adorbs! Thanks for making Monday great!

Aww, nice to meat Boston
Boston is just as cute as I imagined. Thanks for sharing him along with the neat reviews of the Button Shy games.

I never thought I needed metal coins. But the one for 7Wonders Duel look amazing.

I love that 3d painting between the lines. That is how I paint minis too 😁. The metal coins were fantastic. Sprawlopolis is a better solo game IMO
And here I thought this was going to be about a meet up in Boston

Van get Skulls of S at pnp arcade with many others!
It was nice meeting Boston! He seems like a very loveable guy. I haven't any Button Shy games and I think I might need to change that. :-)
Boston! He’s so cute!
He also seems completely unfazed about his RUclips debut. Nap time!
Thanks for the video and answering my question!

Chicago in the house!

Skulls of Sedlec is my favorite ButtonShy wallet game, too!
Have you played Sedlec solo? Or with the Executioners/Poets expansions?
We have played it with the executioners! But I dont **think** maggie tried playing it solo! So glad you like this one too. Do you have any others that you enjoy that we haven't played?

What was the shipping rate for Button Shy Games to Australia? Keen to order some off the back of your review.

Have either of you been to the UK, if so anywhere in particular? And have you thought about attending the UK Games Expo?
LOOOOOVVVE Boston!

Doggo for the win.
Hi Boston!
Boston! I hope we can get a cameo from him every now and then 😁. I sent you guys a postcard a couple of weeks ago, hopefully you receive it in time for the next small talk!
Not sure if you have played Isle of Cats but that is a Tetris like game that I played recently.

Boston! ❤️ also, how do you join the discord channel?
How do we find your channel?
how do you play the bloody inn without murdering people?
Boston is the schemer? Dogs seem to spend most of their awake time scheming how to be fed or given attention by their caretakers.
I'm sure pets add a certain percentage of views because...internet.
