This was such a great list! Thanks for posting. You share such a wealth of information about the games in a very short amount of time. My one great complaint about ButtonShy is that so many of their games have sold out! Although I guess there are often print and play options available. It’s interesting how you approach from a solo gamer perspective and those are the ones that I am most reluctant to play. But they’re growing on me, especially if you use them as a co-op game if anyone cares to join you. And these are all just such amazing puzzles to unravel. You might be the only librarian to have skipped reading Harry Potter 😂 I actually prefer the Howl’s Moving Castle series when it comes to YA magical lit. Such a lovely and helpful video - thank you!!
@GameLikeAMother Loved that response, Anne, appreciate your kind words. Yes, seeing those solo games as co-op puzzles to solve is the best way to look at them. I was thinking that exact thing while playing Ragemore today and my wife was joining in. Can't wait for your Super Slopes video to premier! It's one I'm super interested in. And you said the magic words - Howl's Moving Castle!! Running off to watch that film right now. A classic.
My favorite game from button shy is Skulls of Sedlec. Solo or 2 or 3 player. And based on real situation Bone Church': Located in Czech city Kutná Hora, Sedlec Ossuary is adorned with around 40,000 human skeletons. Eerie chapel: The bones were taken from the huge cemetery that encased Sedlec during medieval times.
Glad I found you! Onirim is my favorite solo game, and happy to hear that you love it as well. I'll be watching your videos now for new (to me) game suggestions! Are you on IG?
I'm always impressed by the creativity of these games. I just own three and don't play often, but there's not a lot of choices in France right now. Ragemore seems fantastic !
The 4 I play the most are Food Chain Island with Tough Skies and Friendly Waters, Skulls of Sedlec with Monstrance (awaiting the expansions), Spaceshipped with all expansions and Base Sprawlopolis. Sprawlopolis is a later comer, I've had it for yonks and really never enjoyed playing it. I took it on holiday as an either, use it or move it on. I didn't understand why I didn't like it much, I suspect there was a rule issue somewhere. But it now gets regular runouts. The advantage to me is that they are easy to get out and put away and can occupy 10-20 minutes of downtime without issue.
Ragemore is one of my favorites as well. If you have a 2nd deck, the designer has an unofficial coop variant on bgg. I would check it out. I have 2 decks pnp for this purpose. I don't have a physical deck being out of print currently.
Really enjoy Food Chain Island, Sprawlopolis, and Circle the Wagons. RIght now my favorite Button Shy game is Ancient Realm. In the game you always freel short on money and resources and it's challenging to score well.
The Button Shy Games, that I am fond of and in no Particular order… Circle the Wagons Season of Rice The Sprawlopolis series The Ugly Gryphon Inn Tussie Mussie Space Shipped Tides Food Chain Island Unsurmountable Death Valley
My favourites are - Food Chain Island, - Forest Sky take a couple of play to get it but it’s always in my travel backpack - Wonder Tales and - Skull of Sedlec
I liked your rundown, but you might consider not moving the game from hand to hand. I kept trying to read the titles but it was very difficult and had to wait for you to say the name of the game.
How many BS games have you tried roughly you say?! It’s so hard to narrow down to a top 10 especially with so many great new ones coming out etc. Really enjoying the micro game /solo content - long many it continue 👍👌
Wow ! Finally a Top 10 that actually shows you the layout of the game and basic moves.
Great reviews, thanks 👍

Yes, the creativity to get a game to work with such minimal components is quite a feat..
Thanks for the review. Ive never heard of any of these now I want to play the all.

Wow thanks for the info about the 2 deck co-op version! Definitely checking it out.
Would you consider making a top 10-20 solo games video? (Not limited to button shy games)
Definitely! Thanks for the suggestion. Stay tuned….
Tussie Mussie has a front row 4- Face Up Bouquet cards and a back row of 4- Face Down Keepsake cards.
@@Cleansweep38 no it’s one row of four. The keepsakes just slide back a bit.
@@speedwaytag3321 My apologies, I stand corrected
Circle the wagons has 6 type of terrain, not 4. ( snow, Water, Desert, Plains, mountains, and Woods.
Really enjoy Food Chain Island, Sprawlopolis, and Circle the Wagons. RIght now my favorite Button Shy game is Ancient Realm. In the game you always freel short on money and resources and it's challenging to score well.
I haven't played Ancient Realm yet. Have seen lots of favourable reviews of it online so far.
The Button Shy Games, that I am fond of and in no Particular order…
Circle the Wagons
Season of Rice
The Sprawlopolis series
The Ugly Gryphon Inn
Tussie Mussie

I play a few Button shy games. Why have I not heard of Ragemore?
Will check some of these out.
Great to hear. Hope you can find a copy somewhere.
Rove being number one, i enjoy Ancient Realm a lot too :) ever tried Galdor's Grip or Dragons of Etchinstone ?
Yep! Absolutely love Galdors Grip.
My favourites are
- Food Chain Island,
- Forest Sky take a couple of play to get it but it’s always in my travel backpack
- Wonder Tales and
- Skull of Sedlec
Glad to see Forest Sky in there. That one is growing on me too.
Ragemore is my favorite Solo Game. Love it! It's always with me.
I love it too. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I have to play it right now!
Give Ancient Realm a try! Civilization in your pocket!
Thanks! Heard great things about it.

Much appreciated! I think I’ve tried almost 35 button shy games. Yes I agree, hard to narrow down for sure .
For Me it's only spaceahiped
I didn't like the rest even though I try some of them
Amazingly I actually haven't tried Space Shipped yet. Plan to soon.
My fav by far, especially with the expansions.
Whats about Unsurmountable? I think it's great
For some reason it didn't appeal to me as much as I expected. Gotta give it another run I reckon.
