This is a classic fuzz pedal inspired to recreate the tones of one of the earliest Big Muff circuits, the Rams Head, famously used on Pink Floyd Th Wall. What do you think? Using a Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson Les Paul into a Marshall Bluesbreaker with Celestion Alnico Gold speakers.

There is no thing in the world that could make me sound like DG, but I keep trying.
Sounds like the original to me. I like the Russian better, but this ain't bad.
I’ve always liked the original Triangle and the later Civil War versions - DG used the civil war on Division Bell and I think Pulse too
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day Jack also happy st Patrick's day ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Jack,
Have you ever done a review on fenders ultra Luxe Tele HH with Floyd Rose Tremlo?
I would absolutely love to see that if you ever have or if you ever will that would be a cool review from your perspective.
I really love your content and always appreciate your thoughtful and skillful reviews. Fine job, sir. 😊
I’ve never tried one, but I know just the one you mean - thanks for the kind words!
Sounds larger than life - amazing
It wasn't vintage to DG when he used it :) (or maybe it was- what do I know)
No you’re right - I just meant he used an original which was not the same as the one I’m reviewing here
@@JackFossett Just playing- great sounding pedal. I have the J Mascis version, which I think is basically the same thing.
It has a nasal tone in the into, a bit like a cocked wah. Was that just the muff pedal?
Nothing else in the chain - guitar to pedal to amp
When I listen to late-70s/early-80s Gilmour I don't hear many "classic Muff" tones, maybe a couple tracks. No doubt he used them, but I find other pedals like boosts and overdrives get me closer to DG territory. Depends on the amp. pickups, etc, etc.
I *do* find the Muff useful for DSOTM tones - solo tones - even though he used a Fuzzface and the Coloursound.
The ehx reissues are all very good, but for around the same money a person could pick up a used eqd hizumitas. For me, that one is the best, I love the note clarity, bass, and sizzle of the hizumitas.
Hey Jack, really love your channel- thank you for the thoughtful, honest, and thorough insight into gear- I always search your channel to see if you have commented on certain pedals, amps, etc. before I make a purchase. Curious about your thoughts on MJT teles- customs are sooo expensive. Thanks for what you do.
Thanks for the kind words! Absolutely - I had MJT refinish a Stratocaster for me and had a pretty good experience. The work they did was great. I haven't played one of their custom builds though. But I think there are many companies out there making high end Fenders (the way they should be made) for much less than the Fender CS. Heres a video I did on the MJT refinish - ruclips.net/video/LW5cNSN4Elk/видео.html
Not my cup of tea, but at least it gave the strat some body.
It’s the sustain - it makes single coils hold notes forever
This has been my main fuzz for over a Year! Great stuff!!!
