First car was a 56 Pontiac Star Chief. Born in 57,grew up listening to Elvis, Beatles, the Who, Beach Boys. Watched movies at the drive in. I watched Godzilla, King Kong, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,Mary Poppins, and tons more. In grade school I followed the Vietnam war and the no. of daily casualties. Lived through the cuban missle crisis and watched the J.F.K. assassination on t.v. and got out of school from it. Watch man step on the moon. Telephones went from party lines hanging on the wallin the kitchen to Dick Tracy wrist watch phones.
We used to do field trips every year!!! We went to the zoo, museums, all kinds of fun stuff!!! We always went to a park for lunch!!! Fun times!!! God Bless Us All!!!
In high school in my day (70's) we had clicks. Cowboys were the Kickers, there were the Goth kids, the Freaks were the stoners. Lol Everyone who drove a pickup had a gun rack in the back window. No one was concerned about it then! Different era! Happy Anniversary guys! Enjoy your day!❤
My first car was a 1966 Bellaire Chevy and paid 800.00 used. The car lasted me eight years and was a great investment. Loved the late 50's and 60's music and western movies. On May 12th I turn 75 years young. Have a Happy Anniversary!
Happy Anniversary!!! Yep, in my high school day, there were guns in the trucks on a rack! Nobody even thought a thing about it! It was just normal. Of course, we had all been taught from tiny childhood that you respected the gun, never mishandled or treated it like a toy… We all were taken out to the back field, and taught how to shoot it, and how much damage it could do to whatever you hit… that was before video games, and the death and destruction that they use as entertainment now. People have become desensitized to other people’s pain, and don’t respect boundaries and opinions if they are opposed to their own wishes… I miss my childhood neighborhood, where different opinions and political beliefs did NOT make people enemies, and you could have an animated discussion, agree to disagree, AND still be friends afterwards!
My first car was a 1963 Ford Fairlane! Red and white, four door, three on the tree! I would love to have another one! Great memories in that car! Cruising main street was the best!
I attended school in a small farming town, population 500. I was excited in 6th grade we were allowed to go to the big city of Green Bay to go to Bay Beach amusement park for our school picnic. They had a ferris wheel, carosel, live ponies, scrambler, tilt-a-whirl, little train and kiddie rides. Tickets were 10 cents each. We packed a brown bag lunch. One of my classmates packed a 6 pack of beer in his lunch box. Our teacher heard rumors and checked lunch boxes before we got on the bus and needless to say, he did not attend the school picnic that year. Fast forward 10 years and I was working as a new Labor and Delivery nurse. They were expecting twins and his wife didn't wait for the doctor to get there. The first twin (girls) was my first precipitous (delivery without the doctor present) delivery. Bay Beach is still going strong over 50 years later. If anyone is ever in the Green Bay area, stop in and check it out. Tickets are now 25 cents each and the bigger rides take more than 1 ticket. The most expensive ride is $2.50. Still a deal compared to most parks. We now get busloads of kids from Milwaukee and Chicago coming up to utilize the park.
I was born in 1953 and I listened to my mom’s country music records like Eddie Arnold and Marty Robbins and Jim Reeves too some really good country music
When Bill Clinton was president he outlawed guns in schools. B4 Clinton, we had a Gun and Rod club at our high school. So we had guns at school. They were taught gun safety and probably target practice. I don't remember anything controversial about it. It was our normal. We had Archery instruction in our PE class. It was lots of fun. Its better to be educated on guns - especially on safety. No one I went to school with shot anyone.
When I was in high school I started collecting guns I bought two from a friend mine he brought it to school and I put them in my locker till the end of the day. Then carried them down Main Street and nobody even batted a eye to see a 15Year old caring a shout gun and a 22 rifle
Happy Anniversary guys! Enjoy your day in town. Back in my day in school you said the Pledge of Allegiance, and said a prayer. Hung out and drove around the square, and back down to the A& W., or the dog 'n suds.(Do they even have those now? LOL) Listen to Rock & Roll, and country music. It really was a great time compared to today. You had respect for other people even if you didn't agree with them. (Or liked them). Not like today, so sad what this country has come to.
I guys, when my husband got home from Vietnam he got a 1967 Chevy impala supersport four on the floor car. What a hot car that was. We both loved it bucket seats and all. Everyone always looked when we went by. Our anniversary May 11, 56 lovely years. Dick and Judy
I had a 76 silver and black rally sport camero 4 speed with craigars wheels, wish I would of saved it, it would be worth mega $,s now, those where the days, gas was 50 cent a gallon, Happy Anniversary 😊🎉
I'm 80. We had souped up cars. 57 chevy's were the big thing. San Fransico. Then they'd take them to Mexico for rolled and tucked upholstery and 15 coasts of shellac . Cherry red was big! Chrome insideand out. Lol.
I graduated in 1970 and I was on the varsity rifle team. My first few paychecks at the grocery store went towards my 22 rifle. My first car was a 69 Firebird!
I'm 59. We used to have rifle classes, and on a field trip we could go to a local range to compete in what was called best shot. Whoever could hit the bullseye the most would win.
I would love to find another '67 Dodge Cougar. Those things were awesome. Had two that both needed total rebuilds, and the dollar for gas was worth more than the cars.
I think it depends on where you live whether or not they allow Archery. I had it in high school down in Southern Illinois where I went to school . We lived out in the sticks until I started high school. I already knew how to use a bow and arrow by then. Our father taught us starting at 7 or 8 years old. Anyway. my gym teacher said I was a natural in front of the whole class. I told him after class that I'd been shooting arrows every since I was 7 and he said he thought I did very well. Anyway, I'm glad Wyatt gets a chance to learn too Bonnie from the Heartland 💕
I love jeeps, and someone in my area has a Jurassic Park jeep, colors and decals and all! Of course, my daughter was all, no, mom, but my mom was all, yes! The price is totally off-putting, however! Congrats on your anniversary!!
Again Happy Anniversary to you both. I'm with you Anthony. Jack in the Box is my favorite fast food Not only do they have a larger variety . They serve the entire menu all day long. If you want breakfast at 3:00 pm you can get it. If you want tacos for breakfast you can get it .😊
We competed against each other in all kinds of events. There were 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners. We all can't be winners. It created competition rather than coddling.
Happy Anniversary 🎉 We lived away from the high school back in the 60’s , & there was a lot of riots between the blacks and whites. This was a problem because something would jump off the school would close and you could wait hours before the school bus came to take us home. It was dangerous. My Dad bought a used car for my sister and I to get home safely when needed. It was a 65 Chevy Camaro. The 1st car I bought was a Super Bee 440 with hemi traction six pack, Hearst shifter, Hood scoop with pins racer slicks glass packs. It’s was my baby. The music from the 50’s 60’s & 70’s is the music I enjoy most. I am the youngest of three girls. So this music was always playing in our house. Growing up in a small town is the best. Wyatt is a great little guy. He was so proud of himself helping screw in the flooring on the green house.😊 Enjoy your day ❤
Field day for me was all kinds of different sports. You know 3 legged race. The potato sack race. A relay, 50 yard dash. And even dodge ball. Yeah super competitive. You didn't have to participate in anything if you didn't want to. I also went to a school where kids had hunting rifles in the rack on the rear view windows of their trucks. It a big deal.
We called those kids kickers. I remember field day and it wasn't especially fun for me. We had to do athletic things in the texas heat and I hated it! 😂 I was never an athletic type person.
Have a great Anniversary guys. You think twelve years is a long time tobe with simeone these days, it will be fifty years for me and my hubby come December.❤😊
FYI, a dog in a car with cracked windows in 80 temps. can get way too hot!!!!!
The difference in earlier school days and now is respect. This has to be taught at home.

It’s too bad we can’t bring those days back Anthony ❣️❣️❣️
The guns thing would NEVER happen in Canada. 🥹🥹🥹🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

The guys with big trucks , in Tennessee we call them Country Boys or Bubba's ! Got to love them ! The best ! Happy Anniversary !
Happy Anniversary, I a. So disappointed that you left Lucy in the car. Hope she doesn't get to hot.

No guns in my high school ever. And my first car was a 65 VW bug! I miss the good old days, respect was taught.
I was born in 1953 and I listened to my mom’s country music records like Eddie Arnold and Marty Robbins and Jim Reeves too some really good country music
My niece and her husband both have jeeps. They collect a lot of those little rubber ducky things because they have jeeps. It’s the thing now.
That Mercury Cyclone GT is a classic!
I jad a 1967 Fairlane the guy handed me a spiral note book with every time he had worked on it. That was neat.

We also had our anniversary this week. 50 years. Time flies by.
I think music 🎶 is connected to memories. So if you have a good song then usually good memories too.
When I was in high school I started collecting guns
I bought two from a friend mine he brought it to school and I put them in my locker till the end of the day. Then carried them down Main Street and nobody even batted a eye to see a 15Year old caring a shout gun and a 22 rifle

Mine was a 67 Plymouth Belvedere with a 383 magnum. I was 26
❤ Anthony I remember those good ole days too.
When I was in high school, some had shotguns, but most of the guns were hunting rifles,ie 30.06, 308, 30.30, etc.
Good morning Rox and Ant, Happy Anniversary you two , hope you have a fantastic day!! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
