- The Righteous Gemstones - Season 3, Episode 7. Brother Marshall (Sturgill Simpson) and The Choir
of Fire sing “All The Gold in California”.
So wild this goofy ass show gave us one of the most beautiful iterations of this song
one of the funniest shows ive ever seen
I need Sturgill to do a full cover of this song.
@@SmokeEater509
It exists online with the same title
You never watched the movie Arkansas
The guy playing Brother Marshall would make a hell of a country artist.
He could sing about turtles or something…
He could sing about a long white line 😂
He could sing something about being in arms
He could sing about wasting all his money on weed and pills or something like that
Bet he drives a bronco.
So awesome they got Sturgill Simpson for this
IKR, it's a huge risk, his maga fans will either love it or turn on him for it. Either way he's got a set on him, that's for sure.
@@unknown5150variableof all people in the music industry, I think Sturg cares the least about losing MAGA fans lol
@@timpmurph71 🏆
Edit: IK, hes awesome, right 👍
@@timpmurph71 I tried googling it but didn't come across many helpful answers. If you've got a sec, I'm super curious as to what you mean by his MAGA fans will either love it or turn on him for this? (I come from a pretty politically diverse family, so I like to have as much preparation as I can before going into Sunday dinners / battle grounds. LOL) As far as I can tell, Sturgill's political views tend to fall in line with my own - I lean one way in some things - and the other way in others. (Pretty middle of the road.) With that being said, I am willing to die on the hill for the things that I stand firm on, unless someone can prove them to be wrong, of course. (And - for the record, I absolutely loved (LOVED) this. I'm a big Sturgill fan, and I absolutely cherish The Righteous Gemstones!) Thanks in advance!!

I think he meant because the creators of this show are pretty left leaning, and are taking the piss out of hypocritical Christians, that his MAGA fans might not like him participating on the show.
Started watching this show thinking it was going to be crap and ended up bingeing it in 3 days. It got me through a very depressive day with a lot of laughs. The power of good entertainment.
The power of the Creator.
Strongly recommend Eastbound and Down and Vice Principles. Made by the same people in front and behind the cameras
Everything Danny McBride touches is gold.
Lmao same. Just finished it a week ago and took about three days hah
Something about all the siblings singing along is really humanizing and shows the gemstones and Montgomerys aren't that different. Imo of course.
Yeah, I love how occasionally we see the siblings singing along to older music like this, and how sometimes they even use traditional hymns, and it’s real because they definitely would have grown up hearing those songs.
The music in this show never disappoints. Form needle drops to covers of obscure classics, to banger originals. What a job by the music and sound people.
I made my morning alarm “Money” by Quincy Jones/Little Richard after they got it on Spotify with the original soundtrack
ok, but why does the soundtrack for this show go HARD. every song not only fits perfectly, but is so well performed and delivered
Because John Goodman is a Blues Brother.
They should never have turned down the volume when Gideon was sneaking.
Couldn't agree more 💯
Watch the end credits of each episode, the songs are typically some of the best Gospel ever recorded, including George Jones of course.
I don’t like country music but this was hard 🔥
I’m friends with the gatlin family who wrote this, they’re the most musically talented people I’ve ever met, if you ever see this I love you buddy Austin Gatlin
Sturgill still has the best sing voice out there nowadays
This episode was the best of the whole show yet
I honestly felt so bad for steve zahns character. He lost his mind bc his wifes stubborn ego and issues with her brother. He made a bad business decision, but if she just let eli buy their stock, none of the bad shit would have happened with them. He messed up but he was desperate. Amazing show. I just finished all 3 seasons but i think im bout to restart them lol
This so good, season 3 had some of the best music in any tv show I've seen.
A good amount of Statler Brothers, which I enjoyed
One of the best scenes from the show. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. Could listen to this on repeat.
Zahn and Simpson out there reppin Kentucky so well
Only thing that could make this song better would be if ol baby billy came out with bible bonkers
Amazing talent to be able to turn this song into a hymn lol
The siblings singing together hit very hard. Just three people enjoying a moment together before one of them dies.
It's one of the rare instances of a gospel song that made it to commercial radio
@@scottdonahue7813 - I didn't know this was considered a gospel song??? (That being said - it did seem pretty ironic how they were singing this song at their make shift church service as if it were. As someone who was born and raised in the south, I can tell you that there are many golden country music songs that folks consider to be gospel. LOL)
@@KelleyBroussardMackaig I thought it was a country song, which of course can have gospel influences in it.
I legit thought this was an original hymn when I watched this scene lmao.
It's not a hymn, but it is a real Appalachian gospel song lmfao this isn't an original
Now these are some cool cousins!
Yes they absolutely are! I’d love to have Robert Oberst as my cousin! That would be so awesome since he’s also very cool and hilarious!
This song somehow popped up on my Spotify and I disappointed to see Brother Marshall didn't have a full album with the righteous Choir of Fire!
Honestly knowing how Sturgill is, I wouldn’t put it past him. If you look at the line of work through the albums, Honky tonk, horns, country and western, rock, blue grass storytelling ballads and now he can close it out with a gospel inspired album.
I've listened to this song on repeat since I saw the show.
If you haven’t listened to Sturgill Simpson prior to this, check him out! He spans a few genres including rock, blues, country and bluegrass.
I wish Sturgill Simpson would do a recording of this entire song.
He did, it's on RUclips and can be downloaded
Yup. Brother Marshall and the Choir of Fire.
God this gets me hype I just watched this episode and I’ve listened to this multiple times
It’s something about how he say’s California in the beginning
Lol. I grew up on that song. Great scene
Never heard of it until this show and it's been on repeat. Such a great song.
California is a brand new game
I remember the first time this guy walked up to the podium and started singing and as a death metal fan I said that, that right there is a beautiful singing voice ladies and gentlemen
Sturgill is the Man
They filmed this scene to mock us, but we unironically love it. Like "Keep your rifle by your side".
i think it's not that cut and dry with this one. maybe 50/50 mocking and embracing
Remember a few months ago when ole Sturg was in a disco music video by Diplo but it was really Sean Penn?
The Sturgill Simpson Cinematic Universe. I'm here for it.
I FCKIN LOVE THIS SHOW (if u can’t tell, i said that in danny’s voice😭)
Dammit I so love this show! So help me!
Godamn I love this country
He was amazing in Killers of the Flower Moon!!!!
Better than the original
The original didn't do the live performances of the song justice. When you get a whole stage, or better yet a choir or better yet a whole audience harmonizing the chorus this song goes up multiple levels.
Sturgil is amazing
Sign me up for sturgils cult
You can hang out with people like that anytime you want, its just a parody of maga.
Psst.
I called mama.
Awesome.
So fucking good..
Awesome episode and show great ending sad to think they were gunna get sacrificed lol😅
Sturgill has some fuggin pipes
Love this
ONLY The Righteous Gemstones could take an old cheesy Country song from a Gospel group and make it a killer rendition.
Well done Y'all -
I still can’t take Steve Zayn seriously because of Joy Ride. When I see him all I see is him in that movie.
Candy Cane ❤
Highlight episode of a so so season 3. We got this and BJ beating (and beaten by)the ever living hell out a naked guy! Of course the series picks up right as it’s over! Renewed for a 4th season thank god
The interlude episode was amazing - Judy's conversation with young Jesse and his reaction after were fantastic
In my opinion, The Righteous Gemstones is a tragically underrated show, especially considering how outstanding seasons 1 & 2 were. So far, season 3 has felt a bit underwhelming, but that is probably just because of how fantastic the previous seasons were. Very, very glad to hear that it got renewed for season 4!!
Yeah I was a little bummed about season 3 but damn this song slaps bro
Is this far cry 5?
Where can I join ? 😂
lol, maybe at their protest protest.
Far Cry 5 vibes
Whats the show name
The righteous gemstones
Tell me what is this from
The Righteous Gemstones on Max. Staring Danny McBride, Walton Goggins and John Goodman.
Im a proud PEGGIE im the son of Joesph Seed😂😂
Damn if you cant tell me that man is kin to waylon haha
What in the fucking south is happening 😂😂
