Good of you to make the video though
Good job
THANKS. Nicely done and I enjoyed the music. More work than I anticipated. I have to do both sides.
Fine job i knew you looked familiar 😂😂 hi pat
Thanks for the awesome video. Going to tackle replacing both my fenders before heading back to work after the 4th. Like the idea of all fresh hardware like you used
Very nice video was looking for one with this level of detail for awhile now to help me with my wife's jeep
Helpful vid. Thanks!
If you unbolt the fender from the body you can pull it from the body and away from the brake lines. Then you take the attachments off or unplug your coolant res or any or attachment that is still tight. Removing your brake line will just give you extra unnecessary work. Just saying.
Great video! Nice work.
Where'd ya get the fender (who'd ya buy it from)?
They were very cheap fenders from eBay, they felt like giant soda cans. I would have gotten better ones if I knew better. But they worked out. Thanks for the inquiry. Happy four wheeling
I've been debating this one. Tinted into the garage a bit sharp and took some paint off the passenger fender square. I see it's been bondoed before. Is it fixable or would it be cheaper to just replace and paint? One person quoted me telling me you can't really fix it because it's been bondoed and if it was to be fixed , it would chip and flake. Another person quoted me at $700 for fender paint and to fix the square. Doesn't seem to bad but would hate to throw money on a lost cause. Love the jeep brotherm
thanks good for sight to my first rodeo with a jeep project.
I don't suppose it could hurt, but do you think it helps to spray bolt heads, as opposed to there actual threads I mean? And you need to pickup a gallon of Corroseal... And if you learn anything working on a Jeep, it's that Dodge spent millions of man hours designing in time bombs and high labor hours for simple things.
I sprayed the rusted bolts with Penetrating fluid, which is specifically designed to free and loosen rusted frozen metal parts. Because they are a very low viscosity oil they can penetrate into the narrow space between the threads of two parts. Some advertise that they can creep into openings as small as one millionth of an inch. It can also be used as a cleaner. They are not very good as a lubricant because they are relatively volatile, so much of the penetrating oil will evaporate, leaving little residual lubricant. As a lubricant I will brush the threads with lithium grease or a standard anti seize lubricant. The new bolts I applied were stainless steel so in this case I didn’t bother. Thanks for your inquiry. Happy four wheeling.
PS. here’s a great video on penetrating fluids. Enjoy. ruclips.net/video/xUEob2oAKVs/видео.html
Where did you order the replacement from?
These were very cheap fenders I found on eBay. If I had to do it again I would spend a little more and get a better quality product. These things felt like soda cans. But they do the job.
Did you buy your stainless bolts or did they come with the fender! Great tutorial. Right in the middle of a removal and replacement now! Drivers side definitely sucks for sure! Were the holes already in your fender for the air intake box? or did you drill those as well?
The only holes that I had to drill were for the antilock breaks. All the other hole were already pre drilled. I purchased the stainless steel hardware separately. The fenders didn't come with any hardware at all. And the fender flares came with some very cheep hardware, that I just threw away. Careful with your break lines when removing the antilock. Check for leaks after your all put togeather. Good luck and Happy four wheeling.
The question is, did it rust? Those primers in my experience are porous and let water through.
Yes that primer is thin and porous. I painted the seems with Rustoleum spray can before installation. And then had the fenders and hood properly painted afterwards.
great video, can't stand the music though
I’m happy tou liked the video. But I have to disagree with you about the music. Though my opinion may be biased considering it’s my band (: Hapy four wheeling !
If it's your band then I take back what I said... I've been in a couple bands and didn't sound as good as yours does. Just not my type of music. Great video though
That’s cool bro. The beautiful thing about Jeepers is we come in all walks of life. Cheers
