I don't know why would someone sell such a crappy product, that doesn't look like it has any kind of quality control. I mean I don't expect others to do the top quality work you do, but that looks like they didn't even try! Your bracket looks fantastic as all you do, keep up the good work!
I make a lot of parts and most of them get copied by other dealers. As I always say if you don't get it directly from me it is probably junk. There are not any dealers selling parts I make or the lubricants I have developed.
You do beautiful work, the stuff these companies sell us these days are crap they should be ashamed, they should be rejecting these parts instead of keep buying and selling these to the consumers
There is so much junk out there that buyers need to be careful about where they shop. I will always put out the best stuff and most of the time cheaper than the junk stuff but you can't educate people these days
I got the bracket you used in the example and yep, complete junk. It was so off it jammed the alternator against the block and I couldn’t move it to tighten it. I ended up going with a 12v generator a gentleman online sold to me for dirt cheap, but at least it fits. Great video, and buyers beware! Wish I had known about yours in the first place. 👍
Found this to be true on simpler things like flag racket for dune flag or antenna mounts. Craftsmanship is hard to find. Wish I had started doing some of this long ago instead of after retirement. Great looking work
Just a suggestion. Get a steel stamp or laser mark the parts when they are cut out to identify the ones that you make so folks will know. A question. I use the 35A Denso one-wire alternator for conversions that I do, is there a version of your bracket for those.
I would need a photo or dimensions of your alternator. This bracket works with some of the one wire alternators out there. You can send photos or dimensions to me at metalshaper@comcast.net
i guess it's hit or miss...i bought an alternator kit off eBay..the bracket looks very similar to yours but was painted grey...it seems to work ok though...i guess i got lucky.
@@metalshaperJeep a warning to others who buy the cheap brackets....arggg!!!...i just took a close look at my cheap ebay bracket...the alternator bracket holes are drilled too large...that explains why my alternator would never sit quite straight when the belt was tensioned up....another thing i have to fix.
That bracket looks nice and clean with awesome fitment. Excellent work and thank you for showing what right looks like.
Thanks for watching

Easy comparison… your bracket rocks!
My bracket has been on many engine for many years and all of them are still going strong

Nice job Brian! As with most off the shelf stuff now days, it's because people don't take any pride in their jobs anymore.
I sold my 1945 Jeep long ago but I still enjoy stopping by to see how your doing. Great work
Always good to hear from you, hope all is well

Sorry to hear about your problems, yes buyers beware !!!!!!

yes, craftsmanship is on the way down and hard to find these days. Thanks for watching
I like that jig you use for the ears on the bracket. I’m going to steal that idea for when I need to make brackets and keep them square
A little bit of prep work makes a huge difference.
Great Stuff, Brian
Do you have an e-commerce store? How can we find parts that you are making?
Contact me at metalshaper@comcast.net
I don't have a parts site or sell anything thru online stores
I didn’t know you made alternator brackets. I spent years looking for my air conditioning compressor bracket for my 258 v-belt.
I make a lot of stuff but can't always get it in front of people so they know I have it
sorry this happened to ya man ! id think anybody who follows you would know you dont put garbage out like that
happens all the time. I put out quality stuff and only the people that really care about good parts find me and buy my stuff.

I definitely need to replace the janky alternator bracket on my 2A. Where can I get your bracket?
I'm curious as well. I've never seen this bracket offered by any vendors I buy Jeep parts from.
You can contact me directly at metalshaper@comcast.net

Luv American Made...!
I build all my stuff on American soil with American materials
Great work
Thanks Lee, good to hear from you

Good to hear it worked, most people tell me they have problems.

Everybody wants and cheap price and poor quality these days
