The Minnesota legislature passed a law where bicyclists are not required to stop for stop signs if no one else is there. This takes effect on August 1.

Russ your channel is a metric for seniors to gage distance ,speed ,avg. Battery life for most seniors . please don't change park rides ,maybe throw in some gravel and rail trails . people like your channel for the typical seniors with weight issues and physical disability. 😊

As to your testing for range being changed by weight, riding style, etc,
I consider your tests to be a standard (Russ-1). Every change like more batteries, adding additional weight, customized, etc, I allow a factor for that, for example Russ-2, Russ-3, etc.
in this way I can get a “Russ”, and apply my particular fudge factor to get an idea of each bikes abilities…
So don’t worry Russ, all we need to do is have Fudge.
    😅😉😎

I was watching the question and answer vid you made 3 months ago. Someone asked if riding a bike was bad for your prostate. I was treated for prostate cancer in 1997. I have been a bike rider all my life. As I got older and retired I ride even more. My urologist found out about this and told me to stop riding about five days before my prostate blood tests. He didn't say riding was bad for me. The person who asked the question should ask his urologist.

Hey Russ great ride on the customized EBC bike designed by "Q." Just a gorgeous bike I'm so envious. I think you freaked out some folks on the regular bikes when they saw you, a big guy on a blue beach cruiser, casually pass them by with "on your left" and gone. Your laughs and giggles were the highlights!

Love the way you customized that bike! My wife has an EBC Model E and just loves it. Originally it was mine but similar to your Pedego it was quickly seized and I’m delighted she gets so much pleasure from riding it. Their bikes get great range. We’ve done 40 mile rides with her on model E with the small 12ah battery (she pedals the whole time and uses PAS2 mostly).

I prefer to ride a 'mobility track' which only allows pedestrians, cyclists and mobility scooters; no cars. The one I take has no deers, but occasionally I come across kangaroos. When approaching them if a boomer is in the mob, I stop(respecfully). If they stand erect I don't move but wait for the mob to move off. It's good to share the track, say 'gooday', good morning etc. So lucky to still be alive and riding in my late seventies.

Hey Russ really enjoying your rides being early 60s overweight with bad knees I can relate. Looking to get a e-bike in the future, so learning from you. I live in Sydney Australia and the inner suburban streets are not like yours very built up here , narrow and hilly but enjoy going along on your rides and unfortunately some of the bikes you have are not available here. Thanks again I Viv

Police can’t legally enforce signs within a private parking lot. It’s really a matter for the property owner if they want to ask you to remove your bike from their property (they could call PD for trespassing if you didn’t comply). I agree with you they put the sign up for a reason and it was probably riders using their property as a bike park. I wouldn’t pay attention to the sign; I doubt they’d approach bike riding customers to kick them out of the mall. If they did I’d be happy to call the property manager (and the local TV station) to start a conversation.

Riding through the same areas, regardless if they are streets or forest preserves, can get boring. That is why I am always searching for new routes and exploring new trails.

As far as biking is concerned in that shopping mall lot, to me, generally, anywhere a car is allowed, except for expressways, a bike is allowed. I think those signs are meant to keep bikes and skate boarders off the sidewalks near the stores.

Hi Russ, your bike is very nice. Your range test is very important. I know that I will get better mileage out of the battery than you because I do a lot of pedaling. Your review of the battery range allows for comparison of different bikes because you load all of your bikes. Your are comparing apples to apples. Please keep doing them.

How does it feel riding trails with the suspension? Is it bumpy at all? I have a bad back. Would I need a seat suspension?

@@RussIsRight the trails and grass you ride in the video, could you feel it a lot or does the suspension efficient enough

    • @RussIsRight

In general, you can feel front and rear suspension over bumps. For the seat suspension, you can feel it more because you are directly connected to the suspension. N
