I literally just told someone a few minutes ago that J Hope is a genius. RM was right, when he convinced both the company and J Hope that BTS wont be able to make it without him, after he almost left the group just before debuting. He is called the hidden leader for a reason. He is not only more hip hop than khiphop. But more indie that k-indie. He is beyond, and outside. He is a star in every way. Let us hope that he is going to be able to spread his creative wings after the group returns.
I was at Lollapalooza for his performance, and maybe it was the 🍃 talking, but out of all the concerts I’ve been to, kpop and not kpop, it was one of the most magical performances of my life. Watching the videos doesn’t really do justice to how loud that crowd was. I’ve been to 5 BTS concerts, but that set stands out to me as something wildly different in the best way. He really has found his own identity outside of BTS.
Jhope respects the art of performing, and watching his documentary and behind the scenes moments with bts, respect for him grows as you see the dedication and hard work he puts into every performance. he’s genuinely one of the best performers in the music industry today
J-hope is what an "ace" should be called. All of his skills are super honed and advanced. As everyone said, I do agree that he has a lot to show us yet, including his god-level dance. He is just so unique, cool, versatile, bold, genius, interesting, and unpredictable! very intriguing! He deserves all the recognition. I'm so curious about his future and progress. A total ace fr.
I thought it was just me! I really think he's a genius, despite his humble bubbly persona that he presents as a BTS member. I honestly think he has the most drive. It's like he has so much to say or even prove. I hope he continues as a solo artist even when BTS gets back together in 2025.
I believe when Bts comes together they will focus as much on group activities as they will in their solo activities I think their priority will be both
@@_arlinda he literally said he decided to enlist earlier so he can come back earlier and show us great things. Also because he personally has plans set up for himself. So while I do believe we will get some group activities, it may not necessarily be the main focus for them anymore. This goes for all the members ofc
One thing that amazes me about j-hope is that he's sounds even better singing live, like he ATE CDs, even more passionate and his stage presence was impeccable, he really belongs to the stage.
As an ARMY, I would like to preface what I’m about to say is that I love the group, their professionalism stage presence & talent is unmatched. What I have noticed is with Hobi is on stage, he’s the member I notice that no matter what is happening around him, he never lets you know that he’s nervous, scared or unsure of himself. While I think all of the members could hold their own as solo artists, I feel like Hobi is a born superstar. Whether he had ended up in BTS, another group or a soloist, he was destined for this life. I hope ARMY understand what I’m saying and that in no way am I undermining the other members. OT7 for life 💜
i totally agree !! i think every member is quite talented and theyre all extremely different, it's super fun to see their journeys through music ! the thing with Jhope is that i truly believe he has That Thing like,, at his heart i believe he really wants to eat the world as much as he can, to learn, create and try as much as possible, and that kind of crazy drive mixed with his creativity and talents and i also think his actual Like/adapting/belonging to the celebrity lifestyle just creates someone who is shining v v bright and that u wanna keep your ears and eyes on 🎉 hes a super interesting artist and i honestly think he motivates and inspires a lot of people around him !
If passion were a person, it'd be Jung Hoseok. This man is undoubtedly talented but what took him to the level that he is now is his passion, grit, dedication, perseverance and love for music. Anyone can be talented but not everyone puts the amount of effort Hobi gives in everything he does. His growth from his solo works starting from 1Verse to OTS is astonishing. And also, I fully agree that he is an incredible performer. He never misses, be it in a small venue or in a big stadium full of thousands of spectators. His stage presence and his charisma on stage is beyond words. Sometimes rewatching videos of him performing brings tears to my eyes because of how proud I am of him. He has worked so hard over the years and still is, and he deserves all the praises and accolades he's getting. Though we may not be able to get some more new music from him any time soon, I know Hope World and Jack in the Box will always be a part of my daily playlist til he comes back. 🥺
Not trying to throw shades at anyone but J-Hope absolutely deserves it the most to make a big name. He is not handed anything, every single detail is made by him !! Not only so skilled and talented but super passionate, dedicated, and hard working! I feel like he has so much to show. I will support him all the way, from streaming 24hrs to buying his content just to see he gets the recognition, love, and appreciation he deserves one day.
I think he’s possibly one of the most talented people I’ve ever encountered. He’s arguably the best dancer in the K-pop industry if you include the fact he’s the only one that can freestyle well, his music production is so distinct and driven by his hip hop dance roots so it differentiates in the way he produces. His music is like his dancing. He’s never had a single bad verse, and I’ve loved every verse in it’s variety in cadence, flow etc. in every single song he’s on, solo or group. I think it’s fascinating how the 3 rappers of bts are so distinct and yet blend seamlessly yet uniquely with each other and it’s also why I feel bts from their roots can never be replicated. Jhope is dedicated to the art of performing which is why I think he’s always been destined to do big things.
I am not BTS/kpop fan but JHope discography trapped me. Man he is wholesome born Superstar. His songs, music is sooo him means how much authentic is his music. The layers in his music, the metaphors he used, he made me desperate to learn Korean to understand his lyricism. Because I know lyrics hit more in native languages. His stage his music is all jhope Hobi Jung Hoseok it's just so him. In short Best Artist Loved your video. ❤️❤️❤️
Same here. Not a Kpop fan, not a BTS fan but J-HOPE 🤯🤯🤯 . Same frustration to understand his lyrics. Between mistranslation, métaphores and references it's a full Time job ! I felt so frustrated to not understand Korean when I start to study his lyrics 😭
I’ve only ever written one KPop fan letter and it was to JHope many years ago. I love his sound and the authentic inspiration he takes from 90s Black rappers. His performance quality is epic. He transcends “KPop”.
since way back when bts were still very active as a group I always knew j-hope would thrive as a soloist, he is an incredible performer and has amazing songs under his name already. I think after military he'll come back even stronger, j-hope always has a plan. He's already dominating worldwide and after his collab with crush who has always been quite a digimon in South Korea it def gave j-hope some GP recognition, ON THE STREET is charting much better in South Korea than his releases pre rush hour.
JACK IN THE BOX is the best album concept for me, it's just sad that they didn't put this in a proper CD album, they can be creative with the album packaging of this beautiful masterpiece.
Hybe sacrificed his hard work for their hypocritical environmental friendly strategy. Not a single artist under hybe only ever had to release just a weverse album, they all had physical CD album. Funny because hybe only cared about Hobi saving the environment, all the other members got their beautiful physical, cd albums. Such a shame, I wish he wasn't the test subject.
It doesn’t feel right that my K-pop album shelf doesn’t have one of my absolute FAVOURITE albums by a Korean artist on there 😭 He’s my ult bias…I’d literally trade majority of my collection for a JITB physical sigh.
@@rusher0015 Hobi choose it, not Hybe, he said in the documentary that every decision was made by him, he got things just like he wanted in every aspect.
I saw a lot of people Live, Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz, Twenty One Pilots, Rammstein, and most of them at Festivals. But nothing compared to the feelings, I had watching Hobi at Lollapalooza. I never saw an Artist, giving so much at a Festival Stage, and he might not be the most technical rapper, or the best vocalist or lyric writer but his Love for Music and Charisma on Stage is so captivating. I believe after his Military Service, he will capture even more Hearts, Globally, and will be a really important figure in Music History as an individual Artist. He is one of the first Artists, that sound the same on the Studio Version and Live.
JHOPE is artistic he is not limited to kpop who are obsessed with chart & rank. Jhope is beyond kpop as solosit he is very versatile singer he has his own signature from his music to his fashion sense. After his military end l hope we will see more jhope.
jhope to me is just a ball of energy, i dont just mean him being extroverted, hyper, happy all the time, but just that it feels like he's in a constant state of energy, his projects until now have always felt so genuine and i could always visually imagine him sitting in his studio and doing every change with purpose. even the few songs im not too interested in still feel authentic and not like he just shat them out lol. ot7 all the way but i have insane respect for him and his musical growth throughout the years. 💜
He's the most talented driven and passionate, he knows what he wants and goes for it. That's not something everyone has. J-hope will for sure be here for a long time and will show us new exciting things each time.
J-Hope's evolution as an artist is so palpable through his journey from being a BTS song writer to Hope World to now, Jack in the Box. The range this man has is phenomenal. At a time where most artists try to rehash the same type of music to maintain certain image, viewership and success, J-Hope really stands apart coz he isn't afraid to try something new. Add to that him being an impeccable dancer & a rapper with the best flow I've seen in a while, we have a true musical and performance legend in the making. This was a great video that emphasizes and explains that. Thanks you :)
I just find J Hope so unique and interesting, unlike anyone I’ve ever heard. Like you mentioned, he has so much personality. He’s one of the few artists with albums that I will listen to from beginning to end and not want to skip or forward even one song. He’s insane talented.
While I admit he can be called ace of K-pop, I think as soloist he has already shown he is beyond just K-pop. He has strong passion for music, and is clearly motivated to continue creating world class music. His solo songs during BTS peak era were a clear indication how he stands apart from his brothers in terms of music. He is like water and you can’t put him in a cup. Since he is technically still part of the K-pop industry, the most fit titles for him would be ace, all rounder and a SUPERSTAR in his own right. His love for music and dance is not affected by how badly he is being treated by his company and some of the armys. I am so so proud of him for not giving up, for choosing the unknown path to discover himself, for always pushing the envelope and trying to improve himself. He has always stayed humble despite the successes and fame and continues to defy odds for better music. He cannot be simply called an idol, he is beyond that. He is so sincere about the music he wants to show the world, and works his ass off for it. If inspiration is a person, he would be the one. Stan Jung Hoseok and trust me that would your best decision ever❤️❤️❤️
Jhope is truly the coolest solo artist in the industry and a standout for me right now. His taste and artistic direction are incredible and just solidify his character musically. I look forward to all of his future releases
Hoseok and J hope is the ACE of the industry he really is, the amount of talent he has is for me is so overwhelming and mind blowing, plus his beauty is out of this world, he has it all for real ❤️🔥
J-Hope is my very very favorite kpop idol, so much that I kind of can’t explain it, it just is. (I don’t choose a bias, a bias just happens to me) This is a really well thought out examination of his music. He’s very unpredictable in the way he uses his voice, you never know what he’s about to do next. It’s also super interesting how some of his songs are super happy and upbeat-sounding but the lyrics are actually pretty deep and/or dark and/or sad when you think about them, and then Jack in the Box made a lot of sense because that feel had been there but partially hidden for a while. And he’s an incredible performer and dancer, and he seems really nice and is funny. I really like J-Hope. He’s so cool.
Same for me. I have absolutely no idea how and when Jhope became my bias. Like one day I just realized that I watched a performance 3 times but the only one my eyes were focused on was Jhope.😅😅💜💜💜
He is the living proof for how love skyrockets talent. Regardless of his talent, what is for sure is this man has an enormous love for what he is doing which paves the way for him.
I have noticed this for quite long.Theres many reasons why his mv or his songs are always trendy . It's not luck or because of the fanbase .He have his own style on doing something.
I love all the members but Hobi's individual music really speaks to me. His verses in the group songs too. My ears always perk up when he's at the mic. His voice, his cadences, his ad libs, his singing are so beautiful and varied. The themes he tackles are interesting and clearly heartfelt. I love each and every song he's ever made. STOP and Safety Zone are my current favorites. MORE is totally my style. Arson is sick. Equal Sign and Future are so pretty. Pandora's Box is sick. Chanting along to Pandora's Box and Hangsang at Hobipalooza is one of my favorite memories ever. Save your money y'all. Seeing j-hope live is just as amazing as you think it is. His voice is sooo good and emotive. j-hope is authenticity and sincerity personified.
I was in lollapalooza, after his performance I searched alot about him and trust me, I've never ever seen such an interactive crowd in my life before despite the fact he sings in another language! This was my first time attending a non English speaking artist's performance and even I started screaming my lungs off with the crowd as if that wasn't my first time listening him !? 😭 It was one of my best nights ngl ❤
I wasn't at lolla but I discovered him thanks to his performance at lolla. The man get me in few seconds ! More than 1 year later I'm still listening to his music daily. He is like my cofee and orange juice combined. I don't drink cofee and orange juice so it's exactly what I needed to boost in my life.
this guy is the epitome of versatility. and although he's the least experienced rapper in bts, for me his flow and style is something so unique, distinguishable and the best.
Love that jhope finnaly shines through on his own, to his full potential. Even BTS proudly admits that he played a huge role in building BTS up mostly behind the scenes through his work ethic, determination and consideration, bts says he always kept them stable like a support pillar and now our hobi gets to truly show all he can do, he left so many artists impressed after collabs for being so genuine and kind and having such a complex concept that he builds upon and on top of all that also being an excellent dancer and rapper. He is a prodigy and someone i look up to for inspiration and motivation in my life, Love you Hoseok, keep being great!
he really is the best soloist ever. when you look at his solo career he’s not like others he’s different and now I can clearly understand why people call him as captain Jung. first JITB (my all time favorite album) then lolla then that amazing MAMA perf then his lil New Year concert… all these are too much for a kpop soloist tbh. That’s why I think he’s different. He’s so fucking brave! he really gave a +1 hour concert in one of the biggest US festivals.. and all his songs were korean. who can do this except him? he’s brave he’s passionate and he’s reallyy talented for me he’s the backbone of bts. actually I don’t think he’s a group person but yet he did/ keep doing too much for his group and now we can clearly see it. all those bts performances were good because of Hoseok ig. I mean i don’t say others not doing anything but Hoseok is doing too much. and that’s why he’ll always shine the most… he did too much in 8 months and when he comes back he’ll do better. we’ll be waiting for you and your music and your great performances, Jung Hoseok 💚
He thrives as a soloist and I love him so much. A talented writer, producer, composer, singer, rapper, dancer, performer… He can do anything and everything perfectly
J-hope is the perfectionist that doesn't focus on what the surface would look like but also puts hella depth of importance to other details. Like a great example would be him writing a handwritten letter to the people he works with, it's so easy to just ask- he's J-HOPE who would deny him? but he goes beyond what any normal person would do because he puts light to things others don't usually mind. If you genuinely take your time to do those little things, how much more attention he gives to his solo projects? he writes his songs with a purpose, not only to send a message and speak his heart but also how it would work up in the stage, how he'd dance to it, how everyone would enjoy listening, appreciating the lyrics, and watching it. He said in a old interview that he'd want to work on stage production if he wasn't an idol. A dance master fluidly controlling his body as easy as breathing- the musicality he has in his bones, his compositions, even his voice range... When you watch a BTS performance on stage you'd see him going around and covering every side. Someone drew how much J-hope uses the stage and he really goes well beyond to give the audience a show. Even in Hobipalooza you can see him jumping and moving around so much without losing his breath. He makes sure he covers everything and while looking out for Jimin. J-hope is that one guy that doesn't forget to perform great, keep the audience in mind, switching his expressions and vibe, and looking out for other people on the stage with him. Hobipalooza is a fricking blessing. He's so professional. He's really the greatest solo. He shines so bright from his personality to his skills. I love watching him perform because I know the effort he puts into every single one. We love a consistent idol. But J-hope is a consistent, reliable, and improving artist. I'm so proud to be a J-hope fan.
j-hope did involved in the production of all songs in JITB.... He is the production engineer for all songs in JITB. Btw love ur insight. And yes he is otw to becoming the next great soloist to come from SK.
J-hope hands down has to be the most versatile artist I've ever seen not just in kpop!! He excels in all rap, dance, Vocals , writing...and the list goes on!!! Personally i think J-hope is on unmatched level when it comes to soloists in kpop he is competing worldwide now esp since lollapalooza and jitb release
Jhope is born to do this he's the first one i think the most ready especially on stage . He is also has different vibes that i think most unique from the rap line
I really enjoyed this video, when you said that he is a musical prodigy I was like "Yesss someone needed to say it" bc he DOESN'T even know how to touch musical instruments or did rap before bts but he fell that in love with music and hip-hop (well even before bts) that he create beautiful and prolific pieces of art that not just have good lyrics they have a really good job in production even when he doesn't have the "musical hearing". That's why he became my bias he make fell in love (not really romantically or smth) with him in all aspects of the him.
His music is so impactful because it is a literal path of getting to know him as a person and as an artist. In BTS he has this happy virus and playful persona and it is what you see at first. At first he is just a BTS member and it is how he started. Then with his first mixtape and Chicken Noodle Soup you get to know more of his own color. How he is grounded in oldschool hip hop and how the history of street dance influences his music, while still being this fun and playful guy that he is. With his Jack in the Box you get to know him even more, apart from how he is on a daily basis, like everyone he has a darker side, the struggles the doubts. It's a trully vulnerable point of his discography as he is showing more of his cards and just like BTS did, he is expanding on his shadow underneath the persona. The whole theme of the album is also amazingly thought out. He is just like Jack in the box, he has this fun persona just like the clown like appearance of the Jack but this time around he's not sticking to what is expected of him, just like an unexpected the jump of the Jack is. He is also leaving the box of his created persona and expanding his image. And lastly the Pandora's box as a symbol of realising bad and evil stuff but with the hope in the bottom of it. He's darker side, the doubts, the challenges, he's realising it and showing to ppl but he is still JHope, the bright and positive guy. He's still there even though we now see more layers of who he is. The hope is there and just like that our beloved BTS's hope is still there. The clearly visible journey of him as an artist through out his music is what makes him so appealing and amazing to watch
70 year old Army here. I couldn't possibly love this video and your commentary more!!! As far as the comments go, I didn't read them all, but I read a lot of them. I salute you all and thank you all for your heartfelt love for J-hope. 💜
He absolutely loves performing, singing, the whole thing and you can see it! I absolutely love watching J Hope and BTS! I listen to Hope World and Jack In The Box, he is amazing!!! Just have to emphasize that he is just an incredible performer. I hope to not get anybody mad, but I think of Michael Jackson performances when I watch J Hope, just incredible! Thank you for sharing!!!
i remember watching Hobipalooza on weverse and i was just stunned. Watching him perform in such a enthusiastic way made me feel so proud of him. no words can describe what I felt and I think this is the case for all the army who were in Chicago and all those who were watching online!!
Many army's consider jhope the ace of bts along with jk. Jhope raps, sings, dances and has a stage presence that can keep a stadium entertained. His performances are incredible and memorable even to non army's, I'm glad he is also getting outside attention for his solo work
in all my years as an army, I've never seen this lol I have only seen him being passed off and undermined for years for his band mates in the Fandom and outside of the Fandom
I've known jhope is awesome this whole time, but his perfomance at lolapolooza really proved and cemented my respect for his craft. He's truly someone to look up to. I'm excited to see what else he can bring to the table!
I like what you had to say about personality in J-Hope’s music. He puts in tremendous energy. I think “Jack in the Box” is amazing, especially when you listen to it in order. I was happily surprised by it.
i’ve looked up to jhope since i became a bts fan, i became a fan in april of 2019, and he is so talented. i’m someone who loves dancing and singing and seeing him like dance and sing and his music is so like admirable i love him so so much and he is my ultimate favorite like artist not just kpop but ever. the jack in the box album was so amazing i was so shocked and was not disappointed. i feel like he will be like even more popular in the west because of who he collabes with and i think like the celebrities they meet like they kind of go towards jhope i notice, hopefully this jcole collage will make me like have more ppl to work with. i’m so sad he’s going to the military
I find J-Hope to be one of the most intriguing artists I've come across in a while, he's a little (or a lot!) avant garde in a world that currently really values ultrapolished slickness (I'm not just talking about Kpop music or even global pop music, but just the overall cultural zeitgeist; see also: overfiltered selfies, the Kardashian aesthetic, influencer lifestyles etc), and homogeneity. It not only comes out in his music but also in his fashion as well, which I find really cool, like he literally embodies his internal character externally. I'm excited to see his next documentary and listen to the OST and I hope we're getting a tour when he gets out of military service!
3:02 that is so heartwarming, his face when he heard them makes me so happy! Great video, and I agree that J-Hope is a music prodigy, he's gifted 100%.
Thank you for an in-depth amazing analysis of jhope’s artistry. Jhope ability to reinvent himself and push boundaries are reasons that enabled me to admire him as a great artist. He is an excellent storyteller, with every story coming from his music full of sincerity, emotions and feelings. His ability to make diverse music in every genre is very interesting and entertaining. You can find a variety of vibes, if you want a happy vibe, there is Hopeworld, Ego, Just Dance etc. If you want something stronger, you can listen to More, Arson, Stop , what if. If you want something uplifting, there is POP, Equal Sign, OTS, Future and if you want just a reflection, you can listen to Blue side, Music reflection etc. The point is Jhope is very creative and his grit , determination to put on a new music is a leap of faith that everyone should follow. Being a dancer is also a plus because he can interpret and communicate his songs through this medium other than rapping and singing. I have followed Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga and Madonna and now Hobi. Hoping that one day , he will be iconic and legendary as them.
i always thought he would shine even before Hope World. His voice is just different and his rap style in cypher was it for me. Also, that’s personal taste but i like every single song he made.he has actual talent, a word i don’t use usually since it’s overused. nowadays an idol breathing is considered talent. people do not realise that being able to simply sing and dance is not a talent because they worked hard for that.
What an amazing video you've made about JHope. It is so well done it gave me chills. JHope is indeed a music prodigy. Even though he doesn't play instruments, he has impecable taste in music, knows what he wants and directs his projects immaculately. When he writes his lyrics and flows magic happens cause he delivers masterpieces. I admire every single member of BTS since I became an army, they all have their own unique characteristics that make them special. I've always loved and admire JHope, but I have to say Jack in the Box was a game changer for me when it comes to him. When I thought I couldn't admire him more, he came up with a perfect album that showcases his depth and artistry in an impecable manner. And then lollapalooza happened, and to this day I can't get over his performance. JHope was born for this. He's a music prodigy, a natural showman, a prolific dancer, a deep lyricist, charismatic to his core, and most of all, a wonderful human being. Thank you for dedicating a video to Jhope's talent. He is one of a kind and we will miss him dearly during his enlistment.
@@VIDAH_ yes he is a genius ! Last time I was so much excited about an artist futur release I was a kid and it was MJ. I have very high expectations After Jack In The Box bacause if if was the appetizer the man made me hungry for more, hungry for Magic he can create with his high artistic sensibility. This man can feel the music. Most of artist compose with their brain there is something more intuitive with J-Hope, he has a natural musicality probably due to his (Amazing) dance skills. I had this conviction as soon as I listened to him. Hé reminds me what MJ said about his creative process he said that he doesn't think about music, he let music come to him and he feels it. And in this itw Michaël also said that he regretted that artists nowadays think to much about music when they compose instead of feeling it. Just 3 days ago I've read an article of Jung Ho-Seok saying pretty the same thing. He write when he feels music. There's no New or Next MJ and no one Come close to him but Jung Ho-Seok is an artist with the sate of mind who remind me MJ the most. People who are comparing non stop MJ with every popular artists or every artist who do something like him didn't understand the real MJ legacy. MJ legacy is not about constantly reproduced his moves, music, style he wanted to Inspire artists to go after creativity, challenge, to break their confort zone, build their own wolrd, to innovate, to create Magic and give love and Hope to the wolrd. That was the true message and legacy of MJ. MJ once said '' Don't be like me. Be better than me. That the Goal.'' He also said '' Just play, have fun. Enjoy the game'' and it's my wish for Jung Ho-Seok. I want him to stop worried, just be himself and bring us in his game.
@@Zarlor97422 preach it mate I couldn’t put it in better words esp the MJ part is legit fact 👌🏻 Hoseok is so true to himself, insanely creative, and always thriving! There is not a single time that I feel this guy has downgraded, he’s always better than yesterday! And what you said about intuition is so real, I mean just look at the songs he’s created such as mic drop, dionysus, dis-ease, arson, blueside etc there is no record quite similar to them! He is so up in this game, has set the bars way up high! He’s got an immense potential that we haven’t seen even a bit yet and never have I ever been this anticipated for any artist either ! Literally can’t wait for his next move, he’s made my expectations super high at this point 🤌🏻
I'm so happy for this and I'm so proud of jhope 💜. Jack in the box era is very memorable. Everything in this jhope's chapter 2 shows more a lot of him and he deserved all the love and recognition.
I really like jhope's albums and how they are put together in a way that you have to listen to them in order to fully feel and experience it. I have so much respect and admiration for him, as his work is the kind of music I most vibe with. Thank you for this amazing video!!
As much as he really fascinated me, it hit me hard over how much of an immense talent he is during Lollapalooza. I remember it was on a day I was travelling, and the live stream was happening when I was at the airport waiting to board. From then to a whole month of my trip, I watched the entirety part by part and repeatedly. Like the vibe he gave of was IMMACULATE. I didn't force myself to watch it. I didn't need to watch it. But I just couldn't help but watch it! Like that really made me understand how great of a performer and artist he is. To my life rm's music hits the closest. But as a performer, a soloist, jhope suddenly reached legendary level like MJ in terms of a performing artists. He doesn't need to dance and yet can captivate all. And that's what these solos have taught me. Years of majority of consistently good music as a group and yet so much to left to uncover from each one. And this not to undermine the other members. Although not the topic here, for me RM is the epitome of a Modern Poet and I can go on over that aspect and how rare it is in today's world. Can't wait to see what others have to offer. The best part is, each of them fulfil various needs of one's heavily varying situations in life.
I did miss him dancing during Lolapalooza because I just find him hitting every beat perfectly so satisfying but yes, he was still so captivating. It's like he has a vision of a performance and makes it reality, I was surprised just how much of Lolla was practiced and planned. He was meticulous! Yet it all looked so natural as if it wasn't planned. Also agree about RM being a modern poet. Jack in the box was like fire and Indigo is like water. Hobi and RM have the same hunger to show the world who they are but their approach and style is like opposites. Hobi is full of energy and showmanship (fire) but RM feels like the calm before the storm. Hobi is my ult bias but I relate to RM a lot more in personality.
@@quatzxice Also suga... he has such a cool and confident vibe in his music. All the three rappers have very different vibe and when they come together they just create an explosion. It's a roller coaster ride.❤❤
@@sbbs207 yeah Suga's really different as well. For me, he's the most self-assured out of the trio. He really knows himself. His tracks are the most raw and honest. Maybe he's like Earth? The most grounded. It's so confronting that it feels like fire tho 😂
@@quatzxice the fact that you can almost name them into elements based of their artistic legacy in itself is an indicator of how legendary of artists they are. And you hit tho chords correctly with who represents what the best. As a waterlover and my nature leaning towards a very poetic rippling lifestyle is why namjoon hits me the closest. It also shows in his performances. I haven't seen a more intimate, dreamy concert like the one he did at rolling Hall. Even the track progression and videography makes you feel like you are calmly exploring underwater. Suga is will keep you grounded with the rawest reality checks that doesn't beat around the bush. His writing is the most rap battle style even when talking about the darkest mental health issues. Which is endearing because he hits the exact points and voices it out as if battling with the memories the lyrics bring. Finally jhope is literal fire. His brighter music is like those coloured fires that can fascinate any young child. But as you go deeper, the fire is more serious dangerous and aggressive. It not only comes out in his music but also the way he expresses himself on stage!
I'm a casual fan, I mostly listen to girl groups, but J-Hope is my BTS bias and my favorite male idol period. His vibes are immaculate. Extremely talented, superstar material, but he still feels like a friend. (Not in a parasocial way, just in his attitude.) He seems like the kind of person you could just walk up to and chat with. You can tell he really loves what he does, and his passion is infectious.
I agree with everything you said. He is really one of a kind and very unique! Artists like him are born once in a century. His dedication, passion, creativity, lyricism, love for music and performances, his professionalism is extremely special! And he will be HUGE globally! Watch him come back from military with so many plans and even bigger goals and more passion!
100% and he has worked hard and earned every accolade. He’s headed up there with Bowie & Prince imho. Thanks for articulating so many of his extraordinary features and talents.
Hoseok has been my ult bias for over two years now (wow, time flies). I listen to his whole discography often and am always blown away by his versatility and pure, unadulterated passion. I am so happy he is getting a chance to truly shine. He’ll always be so special to me ⭐️ Edit: Agreed. JITB is also my favourite album of 2022 🔥
Honestly, I feel like he is meant for it! From the way his solo career started upto now, It all seems like god's plans! Despite being treated so poorly by Hybe, with zero promotions and physical versions, he is slaying it !! I truly think the right time when he makes it real big will come !!
@@Max-zx9kg Anyway, he never said it was his decision that his album had such an awful promotion?! Never. Just compare it with Jimin's ! What's a label for then? they didn't even release a timetable let alone other stuff. Yall are just disrespecting Jhope with these bs words. At this point you guys better stop with excuses. That company is surely at faults and favoritism are so obvious to overlook.
@@Max-zx9kg Yes mate but has he ever said the bad promotions were his calls? No. So please don't put words into his mouth. We don't know what has happened. There is stuff that the label should take care of not the artist. The only thing that you and I can know right now is that the promotion of Jack in the box was absolutely awful. Don't ever say it was Hobi's decision when there is nothing to support/prove that. Just look at BH's obvious discriminations toward the members' solo as a tiny example? And the way They sacrificed JITB and abused Hobi for their ESG strategy plans !! Why is J-hope the only artist in that company that didn't have a physical with his official release and why did the environment became important to Hybe only when it was J-hope's album? Everything is crystal clear.
I don't stan BTS at all, and I don't want to, but J-Hope is one of those people who just draw you into whatever he's doing. His music is really good and his dancing is amazing! I'm still waiting on more releases from him, but he'll be really big, not only as BTS' J-Hope, but as J-Hope himself. I now realize why so many people say he's their bias in BTS.
Same here. I tried BTS but I don't feel it. It's thé kind of music I could listen to in radio but not in purpose. But Jung Ho-Seok ! I also bet he is gonna be a bigger artist than he is right now and not because he is J-hope from BTS but because he stand Out as an artist.
Oh, wow, thank you for this incredible essay about my favorite artist. He is not only very bright, but, more importantly, a unique artist. I always loved him in BTS, most of all I liked his music, he has this unique style only to him in everything, in music, in clothes. I also always liked the way he presents himself not only on stage, but also off it, always confident and knows what he wants. I left the fandom about a year before lollapalooza and I was shocked by the news about his solo performance and album. And it was after watching this historic performance that he became my favorite artist. It's been a long time since I've seen such a passionate and honest artist, he really is the perfect solo artist. His talent is splashing right out of him, but this is not only talent, but also his self-belief and hard work. The only thing that worries me is that he will be held in the band too much, not giving him full growth as an artist. Anyway, thanks for the video and I subscribed to your channel
Omg! I’ve been thinking this way abt Hobi for quite a while, not just because he’s my bias, but because he just radiates a special energy… I really hope he will grow even more and become an even BETTER artist! So excited to see what he does in the future! 💚 (Also this video made me so emotional LMAO, idk why. Hobi is so talented and his music is so special to me. 😭)
Loved this video. Hobi is my favorite k-pop artist bar none and one of my favorite artists period. It makes me so ecstatic that he’s now receiving the attention, respect and recognition I and so many others believe he’s earned and deserves. I’m really glad this video popped up on my timeline, because now I get to share it with other Hobiluvrs! 😂 Thanks for this one! 😁
I completely agree I’m not hobi biased but I know that hobi is THAT idol and I have been loving everything he’s put out like he’s experimented with a lot of genres and he’s so creative but then his stage presence, his artistry, his MUSIC !! He was truly born to be an idol and to make music😫 I also think that hobi makes an amazing model, like an actual runway, high fashion model which just adds on to why I think he’s THAT idol either way, music or modeling he’s meant to be a star
He has the perfect body proportions, his stance, his body control. He’s perfect for showing off clothes. Clothes love him, because everything looks good on him. But I thank all the gods he chose music.
I love your video! I am really rooting for j-hope’s success not just in Korea but globally. He really is an ace and it’s about time that people see his full talent and potential. I hope that he goes on tour when he gets back from the military.
I can totally see this happening. His music is incredible, even his collabs. Hobi is funny, easy going, talented, and just a VIBE!! He just needs more support for his music!
I still remember those people on twitter telling me I was a fool for saying he had such great solo potential / potential. He is incredibly talented, smart, musically smart, and just his presence/personality can draw you in. Jack in The Box is the real show of his talent / identity and like a trampoline into potentially some really good solo music from him when he returns.
i lovvvvveddd this video so much. jung hoseok is definitely a music prodigy and the GOAT soloist. i do wish you talked a little bit about 1 verse and MAMA (tbh idk how much of a bts fan u are). but i thought it would be interesting to make a contrast between his “first” solo song, which was this little rap released on soundcloud vs MAMA his first solo song w bts. bc w verse 1, jhope was just learning how to rap and i guess “be cool” but in mama, he made an uplighting and heartfelt song in the middle of the WINGS ABLUM. A rather dark concept in terms of their mv storyline and the concept of the album itself; youth experiencing evil (of the world) and seduction. So, as Jhope w bts, he is a beckon of hope. Even with Hope World, yes it’s his first solo project, but it wasn’t an album or ep. It was a mixtape released on Soundcloud for free, w 2 mvs and as u said like 1 interview. And that mixtape was… well a hopeful world but the lyrics still contained monologue-ish thoughts. I love that we continue to see him grow as an artist even then he’s within his 10th year of his career. When a lot of armys said they were surprised w the dark nature and rock influenced sound of JITB, it honestly surprised me. Yes, hobi’s music is hopeful, but within his lyrics he is very introspective. He discusses darker and larger concepts over a happy beat. Like the lyrics in his songs/raps aren’t always bright. So JITB was.. perfect for him in every way. Casual bts music listeners, casual kpop fans know jhope. They know him as an idol, but they don’t know him as an artist. Daydream is in their playlists, but they haven’t looked up the lyrics yet. So what better way to introduce yourself as a solo artist to the world then to literally embrace your artistry (the new sound/direction ur going in) with a full ALBUM. Like even w the album title, it’s so genius. Jack in the Box is a great metaphor in and of itself. With a Jack in the Box, u know there’s a jack in there. You know he will pop up and give you a surprise. But oohh this is the good part. guess what? People knew he was gonna have a solo debut, we knew it was going to be something new, a ‘surpirise’. But AHAHA we didn’t expect this ‘darker concept’. He surprised us by doing the complete opposite of what we thought he would do. Yes, hope is a wonderful and bright thing. It keeps us going, keeps us fueled, keeps us wishing for better days and enjoying our everyday life. As much as hope is brightness, it is also darkness. Jhope in JITB expands on this concept of hope; that it is ongoing and wavering. It can make us second guess ourselves and make us go crazy in times of helplessness and agony. Jhope is the brightness of hope and the darkness of hope. He is hope itself. Great video! Keep doing what you’re doing. Much love
Hope world is the exact reason I fell in love with this beautiful human. Since 2015, I was resting from kpop and not stanned any group because I got dissappointed of a certain agency. And then Jhope and BTS got me back, they brought to me the excitement to listen to kpop. They just made me realised that kpop is not just kpop, it's music it's art not just about being handsome and dancing. Oh my god, I getting emotional right now. Thank you, thank you so much for making this video💜.
Loved this video about j-hope. You confirmed what many of us, especially us with Hobi as our bias have been stating for years. He have always had such a drive to get better at his craft and he's such a multi-talented artist. I don't regret for a second travel half across the world to see his solo stage at Lollapalooza, because it was absolutely magical the energy was insane.
Wooow really cool insight. Just wanted to add that he did work on Music Box. He said so in one of the videos during the JITB promo. I was suprised to see only pdogg on the credits because he said that was a song he was proud of making. Productionwise, he had a lot of help but he was heavily involved. I also like that you mentioned album art. He always has cool cover art and i think its all because he truly understands hiphop culture. I cant wait for the hope on the street dance project he prepared for us. Thank you so much for the well put together video💕
Taeju, thank you for your analysis of Jhope. For me, Hobipalooza is still unmatched, where he showed what an amazing artist performer he is, giving his all.
I've been to my fair share of BTS concerts, and I'm telling you, after every concert no matter who your bias was before you walked in, everyone walked out of the concert with a Jhope bias. His performance on stage is special and fills the entire stadium in a way that even the other members of BTS would find hard to replicate.
Hoseok is a true PREFORMER, and that requires a skill that you have to hone for a while. Every aspect of him uplifts his other qualities on and off stage. It's so rare to see artists this charismatic, hungry to succeed, in love with their craft, yet genuine like this. He reminds me of watching people preform on tv and how they would dominate the stage, not just give a preformance.
Thank you for the effort and time you put into this video. All the comments make me so happy. J Hope is outstanding. I admire his ideas, his professionalism, his stage presence, his mindset, how private he is and his artistry. It’s one I’ve never seen before.
thank u soo much for putting this video out , i am glad.... i feel hobi is a art himself and i respect and love him for that and he is soo professional like he gave his all to the album JITB and lollapalooza.... when i watched the behind the scenes and documentary, my respect for him increased....the album is a no skip album plus each and every song in the album is soo meaningful, feels like every song is talking to me so for me it's not just a mere song.....for me it's a beautiful art coz it resonates with me and it speaks to me which is rare in today's industry.... i m just that i got to know bangtan , i got to know hobi , his real self reflects in his music and i m grateful that he released JITB.....and i love him a lot 💜💜💜💜💜
Jhope is truly an ace. He can rap, produce, write, dance and he even acts as a sub vocalist. Jack in the box solidified that
I literally just told someone a few minutes ago that J Hope is a genius.
This is awesome to hear. I remember Jin saying Hobi stans are the loudest. 😂
I was there also and you right, it was the best 👏👏👏 he did great he is an awesome performer 🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏
Absolutely, I was there also, and it was different from BTS concerts which are awesome as well. The atmosphere seemed explosive
I was there too and It was definitely the 🍃
even thru the weverse live i felt the energy, i imagine that in person was more intense
Jhope respects the art of performing, and watching his documentary and behind the scenes moments with bts, respect for him grows as you see the dedication and hard work he puts into every performance. he’s genuinely one of the best performers in the music industry today

@@himaririku9254 you’re sad lol
I remember RM saying J hope would go truly worldwide
Amen
I believe when Bts comes together they will focus as much on group activities as they will in their solo activities
I think their priority will be both
@@_arlinda he literally said he decided to enlist earlier so he can come back earlier and show us great things. Also because he personally has plans set up for himself. So while I do believe we will get some group activities, it may not necessarily be the main focus for them anymore. This goes for all the members ofc
I NEED. A solo performance after 2025
One thing that amazes me about j-hope is that he's sounds even better singing live, like he ATE CDs, even more passionate and his stage presence was impeccable, he really belongs to the stage.
OT7 for life 💜
Feel the same 👍🏻
I think so and always thought so.
I totally agree.
i totally agree !! i think every member is quite talented and theyre all extremely different, it's super fun to see their journeys through music ! the thing with Jhope is that i truly believe he has That Thing like,, at his heart i believe he really wants to eat the world as much as he can, to learn, create and try as much as possible, and that kind of crazy drive mixed with his creativity and talents and i also think his actual Like/adapting/belonging to the celebrity lifestyle just creates someone who is shining v v bright and that u wanna keep your ears and eyes on 🎉 hes a super interesting artist and i honestly think he motivates and inspires a lot of people around him !
periodttt.
Absolutely agrees with what you are saying.
In short Best Artist
Loved your video. ❤️❤️❤️
True. And it is so authentic bc he literally grown up listening to this kind of music while learning how to dance. This is a part of him
since way back when bts were still very active as a group I always knew j-hope would thrive as a soloist, he is an incredible performer and has amazing songs under his name already.
@@rusher0015 agree 😩 so frustrating.
@@nirvana6172 jitb deserved better but oh well. Let's hope they don't mess up his next album 🙏
Hobi is literally whay the word "artist " Is about.
That's why he's my ultimate bias, he's such an interesting person
He's my fav person on this planet
I just find J Hope so unique and interesting, unlike anyone I’ve ever heard. Like you mentioned, he has so much personality. He’s one of the few artists with albums that I will listen to from beginning to end and not want to skip or forward even one song. He’s insane talented.
Yes, I like his solo work the best and then, RM, Indigo. Of course, the others haven't really put out solo work except Jimin is now.
p,s. Don't forget about his solo song MAMA. His energy is amazing in this song.....
Same thought.
Well written 👍👏💜
Yup, more like an Ace of Music
U made me cry
Jhope is truly the coolest solo artist in the industry and a standout for me right now. His taste and artistic direction are incredible and just solidify his character musically. I look forward to all of his future releases
JHope is the epitome of talent and passion. He is so captivating on stage 💜 Indeed his music is an extension of his personality.
Jimin once said, I learnt that one can be cool by being true to himself. (about Jhope)
Same for me. I have absolutely no idea how and when Jhope became my bias. Like one day I just realized that I watched a performance 3 times but the only one my eyes were focused on was Jhope.😅😅💜💜💜
Same. That happen to me I didn't have a bias but one day I just realize that I love him and all his musical work.
Finally people are getting it! I hope everyone remembers this when he gets back from the military!
I loved jhope at lollapalooza 😭😭 wish i was there
Love that jhope finnaly shines through on his own, to his full potential.
So true 😭🙌👏
he really is the best soloist ever. when you look at his solo career he’s not like others he’s different and now I can clearly understand why people call him as captain Jung. first JITB (my all time favorite album) then lolla then that amazing MAMA perf then his lil New Year concert… all these are too much for a kpop soloist tbh.
Yes, you nailed it. I don't have a bias, but I knew JHope was going to bloom into himself. He is a phenomenal performer and artist💜🦋
🫂🙌🏻🎉
j-hope did involved in the production of all songs in JITB....
Same, he is a true performer
i remember watching Hobipalooza on weverse and i was just stunned.
@@CHlODOS it's been more on in the recent years since he's gained more popularity but I've seen ppl comment that So many times
@@CHlODOS I'm a newer fan but I've seen a lot of armys call him the golden hyung to match JK's nickname
@@angelawu2853 it's not to match jk..he is called golden hyung where as jk is called golden maknae
@@p.sld5166 yeah i meant like they’re both good at a lot of things
We will wait for him
What an amazing video you've made about JHope.
Remember what joon said in psick show that jhope has a far reach globally he has a great potential to go worldwide as a soloist 🔥
Fr. He said Hobi is planning to go worldwide and I can't imagine the scale and his plans at this point! Wondering what Hobi is cooking for us yet 👀
@@VIDAH_J-Hope said JITB was a transition because people wouldn't understand if he doesn't do a transition first. He is sooo perfectionnist !
@@Zarlor97422 He is years ahead in this game! Indeed an intellectual ! Looking forward to his future projects ✌🏻
The Next Great Soloist J-Hope 💜
What a great review.
he is so mindblowingly talented and obviously has so much potential! the world needs to know!
Saw the title and AGREED AGGRESSIVLEY
100% and he has worked hard and earned every accolade. He’s headed up there with Bowie & Prince imho. Thanks for articulating so many of his extraordinary features and talents.
Hoseok has been my ult bias for over two years now (wow, time flies). I listen to his whole discography often and am always blown away by his versatility and pure, unadulterated passion. I am so happy he is getting a chance to truly shine. He’ll always be so special to me ⭐️
Edit: Agreed. JITB is also my favourite album of 2022 🔥
Honestly, I feel like he is meant for it! From the way his solo career started upto now, It all seems like god's plans! Despite being treated so poorly by Hybe, with zero promotions and physical versions, he is slaying it !! I truly think the right time when he makes it real big will come !!
j-hope clearly had a say in how he wanted to promote his album. He adresses the promo in a clip at the end of his disney plus doc
@@VIDAH_ in his doc he says: " 'Why aren't there more promotion efforts?' 'Why aren't you dancing?' That kind of feedback did bother me."
Anyway, thanks for the video and I subscribed to your channel
a complete artist
Omg! I’ve been thinking this way abt Hobi for quite a while, not just because he’s my bias, but because he just radiates a special energy…
I really hope he will grow even more and become an even BETTER artist! So excited to see what he does in the future! 💚
(Also this video made me so emotional LMAO, idk why.
i feel so proud watching him got this far, he is the definition of talent hard work and dedication!
i'm obsessed with jack in the box, such a great album
This video really made me emotional and I whole heartedly agree with everything you said!!
I love your video! I am really rooting for j-hope’s success not just in Korea but globally. He really is an ace and it’s about time that people see his full talent and potential. I hope that he goes on tour when he gets back from the military.
He is so unique, I love him
I can totally see this happening. His music is incredible, even his collabs. Hobi is funny, easy going, talented, and just a VIBE!! He just needs more support for his music!
I agree ☝️ the talent is unbelievable ❤
Jhope King 🤴
This made me so happy today. What I've been saying for the past 3, 4years
honestly, i think he is the best soloist material in bts
I am in the first second of this video and I can say with my whole chest: yes he will, periodt!
Great video! But I thing that I missed in it it were J-Hope's pre Hope World releases. Those who heard 1 Verse weren't suprised with More and Arson :)
j-hope is amazing!!! Very talented and creative
Lollapalooza just magical I’m in my fifties and seen many concerts and this was in my top 5 list just incredible!!!!!!!
So true ❤❤
