- In this second episode of the series, I evolve my island from a dirt blob to an even bigger dirt blob, touch grass, get wood, and spend three and a half hours punching monsters in the ankles for rare drops.
GT - New Horizons is an intricately designed and custom-coded kitchen-sink style modpack built on the 1.7.10 version of Minecraft. It integrates hundreds of Minecraft's flagship mods into a Gregtech framework - completely overhauling the mods' traditional progression in the process, and radically rebalances any of the technologies those mods may offer.
Because doing things the normal way is 'too easy', I am following a ruleset based off of the (in)famous Garden Of Grind ruleset that places me in a completely empty superflat dimension. Every single resource I need, including blocks to stand on, has to be created out of nothing by finding clever workarounds and weird mechanics. Unlike in Garden Of Grind, I am not restricted to only my starting dimension - it's just that every other dimension starts out just as empty as my first one.

Bit late with this comment, but Tellurium ore is available from the Meteor Ritual in 2.5.1. So, possible solution?
For the weed (as in, "Mary-J", not the game weed) study you linked, I did take a look at it, and it seems like it:
1) negatively impacts humans on a molecular level when the parent smokes it right before becoming/while pregnant- which makes sense; one of the big things about pregnancy is how drug/alcohol use can impact the baby and even their future babies.
2) more research has to be done on how long certain "molecular mutations" (since there's multiple with varying levels of positive/negative impact in the first place) even last after someone stops using weed, especially due to all the different cannabinoids within cannabis.
It's mainly, as another commenter stated, laying out some more foundation for future research and studies. Most of the studies included in it were done for animals as well rather than humans.
So I wasn't the only one who looked at that (At all it would seem). Yeah, it seemed very inconfident about anything other than early developing brains

the getting seeds from hoe-ing grass was how you used to get seeds, way back in pre-alpha and maybe alpha? until tall grass got added, its weird that they reverted it

Barnarda C wood is technically obtainable in a no space playthrough but not a full skyblock: the Barnarda C bee will turn Twilight Forest Tree of Transformation saplings into Barnarda C saplings through its Treetwister effect, and can be bred using the mutatron. However, in a skyblock, the Tree of Transformation saplings are not obtainable, so this is no help. The treetwister effect was specifically added to make Barnarda C wood obtainable though, and there was discussion of adding a forestry tree breeding route to get Tree of Transformation saplings. That hasn't been implemented, but if skyblock players actually get to that point in the game it definitely will be!

This has got to be one of the best Minecraft series out there. I remember the time when creating Minecraft content on RUclips was all you needed to be famous then you had to incorporate mods then collaborations then large smps then story driven content and it always lost its charm. You seem to put them into a format which reminds me of the old days but is still presented well enough that it can complete with modern content

Hoeing grass blocks is how you obtained seeds before tall grass was added, though I'm sure it is a mod that's responsible for adding it to this version.

Upgrading GregTech is relatively straightforward if you follow the instructions they have on the wiki. If you know how to make patch files you can also save the changes to configuration from the default pack
