I am currently reading a book by Iain McGilchrist called “The Matter With Things” (published. 2019). It builds on his 2010 book, “The Master and His Emissary”. I think this wonderful conversation on Flipping has many ideas in common with McGilchrist’s superb work.

I left the church in my early 20's. Even people like me has flips now and then.
Per haps some of you know of Jeffrey Mishlove whose channel on RUclips is "New Thinking Allowed." He also has perhaps the only PhD in Paranormal Psychology.
Another person of interest, deceased now, is Rudolf Steiner who writes about the 5th sense, which allows for subtle spiritual experiences if we tune into the 5th sense.

"Thus say all the perfect souls and blessed ones, whether past, present, or to come--
thus the speak, thus they declare, thus they proclaim:
All things breathing, all things existing,
All things living, all being whaterver,
Should not be slain or treated with violence,
or insulted, or tortured, or driven away.
This is the pure unchanging eternal law." (Acharanga Sutra 1, 4)
    (The Indestructible Soul, Geoffrey Parrinder)

I think many devoutly "religious" people still need to make the flip.

Given the preponderance of suffering, if there is a design and purpose then it must be to inflict suffering on humans. This realization does not bring comfort or meaning to life. I preferred my pre-flip nihilism.
