It's cool that you're introducing your nephew to the outdoors and woodscrafting. Your tarp probably would have been more effective, for its size, set up as a plow point. Just make sure that the "point" is facing into the wind for max protection from wind and any rain you might get. Learn that configuration and then teach it to your nephew. Also, if you let the handle of your frypan stick straight up in the air it will sit just fine on your burner even empty. That won't make it bigger, LOL, but it won't fall of of the burner.
Corporals corner - would put the fire a few feet back off from the head of you’re sleeping and he’d put up a blind on the other side of the fire / hot cools - branches cut or broken in about 3-4 foot lengths, use 4 branches 2 on each end banged into the ground about the with of the branches that you cut 4 feet long to hold up the branches used as the blind / heat deflector !
I have that same sleeping bag and I've been in it down to 34 degrees Fahrenheit and stayed comfortable. I'm pretty happy with it for 10 bucks! I think you got a pretty good setup there. Thanks
Axe was sharp but for its purpose it’s horrible… I’m sure if you hit a knot you might damage or roll the edge on itself probably suspect to chipping easily and with that thin wedge profile your not gonna have great luck splitting firewood. Probably useful for splitting tiny bits of wood but your gonna spend all night trying to split a normal sized cut.
Camping show is great for beginners and limited budgets. I spend around 10 months each year with just a backpack in the Colorado backcountry, all my gear fits in small daypack, ....the more one knows the less one needs, ....... less is more,... keep it simple stupid, etc. ....then one has more time to do fun things.....i am glad to see you feel less stuff is far better.... I've had 50 years to solve my gear set up , ....quality, simple gear, in todays society one can learn all kinds of gear reducing ideas...For the past ten years I've been fortunate enough to be able to head for the backcountry of Colorado in September and return to civilization around July ....why I don't know....I do know that the more one knows the less one needs.....and like the man said it is more fun taking less....not a survival show....but he made a few great points...
Hello, great video. It popped up as something I should watch I'm glad it did because I watched 👀 one of your videos for the first time forgot the name of your channel ugh "don't judge me" lol but I loved it, so I've been looking for your channel I know I subscribed to your channel it should not have been that hard to find you lol But anyways I'm making sure I have all boxes checked so I get a notification next time you upload. And I will catch everything you post from now on. Thank you for sharing and for all the hard work and time you put into your videos. They are truly appreciated. KEEP ADVENTURING GOD BLESS YOU 🤗HUGS🤗
Only thing... Did you really need to bring that thing strapped to your lower back? As a Canadian I had to laugh at such an American thing. Lot of bears in your area?
Yeah I'm much prefer hammock camping I have a Molly to military rucksack that is completely set up to grab and go has all my camping gear in it that's how I like to camp light fast not a lot of frills
You mentioned fishing that lake. Have you ever fished the lake to the east thru the woods? You have to walk to it or you can float down the creek from the road that's north of there. You probably drove over the creek and culvert that I launch at on your way to make this video. I've always had better luck fishing the other lake. It's harder to get to, doesn't get as much traffic as the one in your video.
I enjoyed your video, very informative. You seem like a pretty cool white guy, If your ever in CHICAGO in the LITTLE VILLAGE area? , Your invited to the CARNE ASADA 👍🇺🇸 🇲🇽
It's definitely gross to watch someone spit out brown "juice", but I suppose he's doing it because that's what he likes. It doesn't faze people that dip, but I don't want to watch it, personally. Otherwise, not a bad video.
you want a real survival challange, do 7 days withvthat 150$ including food, as i survive on less then 50$ a week living in a tent, try to survivrvas us huseless travelers live everyday, you hot bout 18 years worth of outside living to catch up..m
The Wal-Mart survival challenges, the food is included with the budget. So in that you failed. Should have put the tarp in a leanto and used the fire to stay warm.

Plow point is probably the ideal shelter.

I'm from desoto County mississippi, so not too far from that spot! Great video I've been. Wanting to do a budget camping challenge!
It's a lot of fun
Case of beer, cigarettes, fishing pole and a big blade is all I need. At least for a budget camping trip.
I see you have a wichita falls t-shirt on. That's where I'm located was curious if you had any suggestions for camping close to wichita falls
I do not my family is from around there

More concerned about showing people he dips
What do you mean
