Written by the great Zeb Cook, B6 is a nice dive into the city of Specularum, introducing new players to the local nobility, sticking them in the middle of a murder investigation, and dealing with a guild of Assassins' and rogues.
Though a little Railroady, Zeb does an excellent job in making it acceptable and understandable, and though this requires some work fro a DM, for anyone with a bit a creativity, this is a great adventure.

Welcome to the Channel man! Thanks for commenting.
Were not mainly about mystara (may we suggest mr Welch's channel for that) we want to cover all the adventures from that Era though! Stick around

This is awesome, thank you! My players just finished The Eye of Traldar and got to Specularum, so I was looking for a little adventure for them in the city and your review was super helpful. I think they'll really enjoy this.

Zeb is the man! I got to play with him DM-ing a couple times. He's also a super nice guy. He signed my BX books. (Sadly Mr. Moldvay had already passed. But I got Erol Otus to sign them too!)

I merged this adventure with C2 The Ghost Tower of Inverness and used both as ways to hook the party in with some noble benefactors who used the ship from C2 and hired them to go to X1 The Isle of Dread!

Interesting plot setup in this module, even if it's a bit more convoluted than I might prefer. Your break down makes it simpler, but that even sounds complex. There are lots of moving parts to keep track of. Maybe too many for my skills.
The introduction to the oddly named capital city sounds like the most useful information contained here, and the city may serve as a setting for many subsequent adventures via sandbox style play.

Its possible to break it down into a single linear path, it just takes a little work.
With a little more work, this module could be used to create an introduction to any city/fortress/keep location you could want. Just takes a little bit of a moving things around.

I always liked this adventure because it pushed players to explore the city of Specularum...and it's investigation-based but better than L2 "The Assassin's Knot". I've run it twice but it needs lots of work by the DM to take the clunkiness out of it and make it run smoothly. The names of the factions and NPCs are kinda confusing (they sound the same) and so much of the plot depends on the players uncovering those secret doors. 🤨

I liked it a lot, it gives the illusion of an investigation, and the players won't really know it doesn't matter what they do. Well, as long as the DM does it right

as I listen to this, I have a montage of christopher walken going on in the back, imagining it is him talking. How perfect for a crime module, huh?

I have this module it's very interesting and I want to run it but it requires a great group. I do have to say you could say that one of the guys is a red hairing... I'll let myself out.
