Although he’s not off to the best start this year he was the top scorer in the NHL last year with 64 goals in 82 games, and 89 assists! To put it in perspective most players would be thrilled with a 30-goal season and very few get 40 or more, to get 50 is incredible, so over 60 is insane!
He also won the fastest skater at the All-Star Game Skills competition 7 years in a row, so last year he opted out of that skill to give others a chance. Instead he competed for sharp-shooter and was the fastest to hit all 4 targets (if memory serves in 4 shots) in the first round. He was second in the final round.
His teammate, Leon Draisaitl, was the second-best player in the league last year with 52 goals and 76 assists. The problem is their team needs a better défense and a top-tier goalie to go all the way to the Stanley Cup.
