      Yeah man I used to go the the gym with a blonde girl that was nearly entirely grey at 25 but she was still extreme good looking grey hair and all no one cared, I started going grey at 35 as did all my blonde friends, now at 49 my beard is almost entirely grey, hair about 25% grey but it's fine, no problem compared to the other general effects of aging, losing eyesight, sore joints old injury's that don't heal etc. Hair colour.. doesn't matter

      About age 21 my hair started receding and about 24 my hair started turning white, skipped the going grey part entirely.
      Now many years later i still have as much hair as i did in my 20's and still not even 50% white, never figured out the cause, also figured better early so don't have to worry about it later.

    • @monstronir
      @monstronir 3 года назад +6

      The problem is systemic. But if it doesn't balance out soon enough. CHAOS. For example people need hardware to enjoy software. A lot of Game Studios will go out of business if people don't buy games. They will raise prices and will shorten the range of available customers. Anyway it's a rabbit hole. This is caused by a manipulated system and we are not the ones manipulating it. It's not just shortage on parts and so on. So companies don't want only a few customers, they want money and a lot of customers is what i mean.

      @@monstronir This. If they don't fix this within a year, it'll cripple the PC gaming market. Microsoft and Sony will come out the winners since they'll continue to produce Playstations and Xboxs at a loss in exchange for the recurring subscriptions and royalties they recieve from publishers/consumers. There's a reason the STEAM hardware survey is dominated by budget GPU's:

      10. RX 580
      One "premium" last gen card in the top 10. The first new gen card is the 3070 at 17th. Over 80% of the market share of cards on the survey were considered some level of "budget" pre-pandemic. I think you're confused. In some inflationary environments, prices rise because money loses value. That's not an "appearance." It is also important to understand that prices can rise for many other reasons besides a decline in the value of the local currency. Right. So just because prices rise, we cannot automatically assume a currency is worth less. In your example, if money wasn't losing value, then prices wouldn't be rising. They're intrinsically linked to one another.

    If you print money, with low interest rates you encourage people to spend money to stimulate the economy. If people don't spend the money depreciates. If interest rates are low the safe bet (government bonds) are avoided, but governments typically keep it low to lower their overall interest rates they must pay on their own debt each day.
    As you mentioned though if you borrow you essentially pay back less in the long run, this to encourages spending. The biggest issue though for all of this is the pressure it puts on the economy as folks spend recklessly and invest in high yield bonds, or stocks (the safer the bet, the lower the return).
    It's easy to spend money (build debt) in the current when it's cheap money, however reckless spending is a frequently loss due to the high risk/return on subprime loans. Housing prices go up as people try to take their money out of the market and invest into something with a "safer" long term value. However when the cheap money (in terms of what % you pay back compared to what was borrowed) dries up folks are frequently left holding more total debt than total assets as the more they borrow the more they profit in the short term.
    Sooner or later the creditors must call in the debt owed, the nation must eventually raise interest rates to slow inflation/depreciation too. This hits people holding high debt hard, many times people use this debt to get by (though many large businesses will also borrow). Your are often left in a catch 22 situation, the increase in interest means you have less free flowing cash, most wreckless consumers will than take on more debt to cover the difference.
    As they do more and more of their total income (or a nation's) goes towards paying off interest leaving them with even less money again, resulting in more debt. It seems stupid and redundant to explain like this but it happens frequently, to the point where debtors can no longer cover the interest alone, while still having more overall debt than assets to pay it off.
    Running a economy like this causes a massive bubble, same thing happened to the US in 2008. With interest rates low if or when the bubble pops there isn't much financial institutions can do to counter it. If interest rates are already at 1% you going to drop it to -2%? It's happened but it causes wealth to leave the nation. I'm not an expert but I've always enjoyed economics granted it's more the economics of different forms of governments. Kinda like how resource rich nations are always at war and poor, and the balance of power/typical economic theories of nations be it democratic, socialist, communist, etc I find it interesting.

    When the non-scalper prices started going up that's when I knew we were screwed. Once the retailers and manufacturers see they can raise the price of almost anything from food to luxury goods it won't stop. It didn't take me long to notice I was spending $100's more on food every month, with wage grow so slow here in North Carolina US and everything going sky high I'm not looking forward to how things will end up. Me and my wife haven't seen my family in almost 3 years, the fact that my wife was on the front line of defense for Covid here in the UK made it even worse. Now we have a baby and the fact that my parents cannot hold their grandchild breaks my heart! And the flight to Portugal is only 2h30min, but without a plausilbe explanation on why I am traveling abroad I can be fined for £5000 and be blocked to fly back to the UK if I do it without permission! So, in a way, I do feel your pain Byan! Let's hope it gets better soon enough so we can hug our loved ones once again!

    No amount of academia can prepare anyone for what's about to happen in Australia mate. I'm qualified as well and I can tell you I did see this happening year's before this as I'm saving up for my first home/farm and waiting for the right time to invest. And none of the indicators have led to investment in ANYTHING right now as you pointed out in your video.
    I've got my AAA credit rating and I'm just waiting now, just like I'm waiting for my new RTX 3080 still 😉
    Buy in or not when and how is also imperative as well. I got my RTX 3080 for MSRP because I knew this would happen and I was right!!

    Been expecting a lot of Inflation especially in 3rd world countries like my own - South Africa has big problems ahead as well , since the power grid is unsustainable and un reliable with so called " loadshedding" every month (basically the deliberate shutdown of electric power in a part or parts of a power-distribution system, generally to prevent the failure of the entire system when the demand strains the capacity of the system.) as well as drought issues in the north western parts , I've been investing all my cash in passive income and side hustles lately , unfortunately than includes stuff like crypto as well I don't like it but at these times its a necessary evil. p.s never set all your peas in one pod !!

    Thomas Sowell and Milton Friedman are fountains of knowledge. In the US I have observed a LOT of new PC builders and buyers even in our local rural area. Older PC equipment like monitors that used to sit unwanted on thrift store shelves have disappeared. I think inflation does have something to do with pricing but demand is the biggest driver. Anytime you can sustain instant sellouts of a product for months on end you either have an artificial scarcity or a real one. SO MANY are working from home now that tons of folks set up home PC's. Add in all the stimulus checks, mining, and a card (3000 series) that folks really want and boom. Not saying your wrong, you arent. Inflation is boosting everything in the US higher. Lumber in the US is sky high several factors of what it was.

Milton Friedman has been one of my heroes for years now, along with Thomas Sowell. It's hard to ignore that brief excitement you feel when they announce another stimulus check is on the way. If you've studied Milton Friedman's teachings on economics, it's also quite hard to ignore the dread of inflation that follows. It seems like a Faustian deal.

    Great video Brian, sorry to hear about the issues with your son. Hopefully you can see him soon.
    You hit the nail on the head, way back at the start of the year (and last year) when you said it was inflation and money creation. But what I think we haven't addressed is that governments around the world have no issues with prices going up, because they've also realised how easy it is to keep wages stagnant, which has been a thing for like the last 10-15 years in Australia. What does that all mean? It means they want us to work harder, get a second job, find money elsewhere, they see China and other developing countries working their asses off, working 16 hour days, so they're going to do the same thing in the west. $15 wage has been a big debate in the US, they refuse to give it. We're heading towards a dystopia driven by people with wealth and power. It's kinda depressing.

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme 3 года назад
