  • Join us for a behind-the-scenes, lights-on tour of Fiesta Texas' Pirates of the Deep Sea dark ride. Originally built by Sally Corporation, the attraction opened in 2002 as Scooby-Doo Ghostblasters. However, in 2019, the attraction was transformed into its current Pirates of the Deep Sea theme.
As guests enter the ride building they are encapsulated within a pirate village. The highly-themed buildings, rock work, waterfall and hidden gold pieces lead you to your ride vehicles. While in the queue line, riders will learn about the evil pirates within and see a map of the journey. Once boarded, guests’ mission is to take down Larry Longneck, Carvin Marvin, Smelly Shelly and Captain Morgold.
Riders advance through a series of theatrical scenes, beginning at Port Fiesta and then heading into the Bermuda Triangle, Mermaid Cove and more. As guests travel through the attraction they must shoot various targets with their specialized weaponry located aboard the ride vehicles. The goal is to shoot as many targets as possible in order to take down the evil pirates and walk away with the highest score.

This ride's theming is so good and detailed. It surprised me when I first rode it. Even the queue is fun to be inside. Cool to see it with the lights turned on

It would be cool to see a side by side comparison between the old Scooby ride and new ride . Not sure if it’s possible though.

The one thing I never noticed was the monkey at the end and also that the organist is still shaggy under the clothing and he also has a new face

Imagine if Cedar Point got something like this and called it “Pirate Ride”, paying homage to the original.
