Das Chanson ist aus dem Jahr 1971 oder 1972. Die Melodie stammt von Alice Dona, der Text von Serge Lama, dessen damalige Freundin und spätere 2. Ehefrau eine Karriere in Nordafrika aufbaute und daher meist abwesend war, was ihn sehr unglücklich machte. Lama war der erste Interpret des Liedes, bekannt wurde es durch die ägyptisch/italienische Sängerin Dalida. Lama bezeichnet Laras Interpretation als seine liebste und er hat es in verschiedenen Fernsehshows mit ihr im Duett gesungen.
Lara wurde in Etterbeek bei Brüssel geboren. Ihre Mutter ist Sizilianerin und sie hat die ersten 6 Jahre in Catania verbracht. Ihr Vater ist Belgier und mit 6 zog sie nach Belgien. Von 8 bis 18 studierte sie am Königlichen Konservatorium in Brüssel Gesang, Klavier, Komposition und Schauspiel.
Ihren ersten großen Auftritt hatte sie 1988 beim ESC, wo sie für Luxemburg antrat und den 4. Platz erreichte (das Jahr in dem Celine Dion für die Schweiz gewann). Mit 20 wanderte sie in den französischen Teil von Kanada aus.
Lara gehört zu den großen Stars in den französischsprachigen Ländern und auch in den osteuropäischen Staaten bzw. den Nachfolgestaaten der Sowjetunion. Seit 2007 arbeitete sie mit Igor Krutoy zusammen und absolvierte etliche große Konzerte mit ihm.
Lara spricht perfekt Englisch, Französisch, Italienisch, Spanisch und Flämisch und hat in diesen Sprachen auch Songtexte geschrieben. Ebenso komponiert und produziert sie.
Wenn die Akustik des Saales es erlaubt verzichtet sie bisweilen auf Mikro und Verstärker und singt den Teil, ab dem sie a capella singt bis zum Schluss ohne.

Wonderful reaction. She truly is an amazing all-around artist. She is fluent and writes songs in French, Italian, English and Spanish. Calls herself a songwriter with a voice. I would love to see your reaction to her Adagio (in English from this same concert From Lara With Love, she wrote the lyrics, based on Albinoni's Adagio) or her sublime cover of Caruso in Italian.
A silly question: are you speaking Hochdeutsch? I ask, because I understood the vast majority of what you said even though it's been 30 yrs since I flailed and did not terribly well studying German in Uni.

Habe deinen Kanal gerade erst entdeckt und gleich abonniert 🙂 Falls in Zukunft weitere Reaktionen zu Lara Fabian von dir kommen sollten, würde ich mich auf jeden Fall darüber freuen. Es gibt so viele ergreifende Performances von ihr in verschiedenen Sprachen (Englisch, Französisch, Italienisch, Spanisch, Russisch,...), z.B. Caruso auf Italienisch (mit leicht napoletanischer Färbung).
Ich liebe Lara Fabian, muss aber zugeben, dass ich sie durch Dimash wieder entdeckt habe. Sie ist sein großes Idol, was man m.E. auch deutlich merkt (er hat sich einiges bei ihr abgekuckt und mehrere ihrer Lieder bereits gecovert)

The song I'm Sick is inspired by a real heartache of Serge Lama, the story of a long secret relationship.
In 1969, the singer met Michèle Potier in Chamonix. Love is a certainty, but they are not free either: in 1968 Daisy Brun married her press secretary, she is married and the mother of a little boy. They love each other in secret for several years and promise to regain their freedoms, but Michèle hesitates and eventually flees and settles in Morocco for professional reasons. Lama is desperate, he wants to put words on his pain without succeeding, until the day he confides to his friend Alice Dona: "This story hurts me, it makes me sick". Back home, at the piano, Alice Dona composes in a few hours a melody [...], which very quickly she makes listen to the singer. It is a revelation and Serge Lama writes almost the entire text with a jet.3 He would later say, "The 80% of the song I wrote in 20 minutes is almost a shame. [...] it came out of my heart so much that I immediately felt that this song had something that others didn't have. ». The great Serge Lama...
Great reaction, but I wish you would have let the video finish to see her facial expression and body language even after the song was over. I have seen many reactors make this mistake of stopping the video before the end and missing magical moments, so in the future I would suggest to always make sure to let the video run its full course.

hahaha psychopath isn't the word cause this song was written in 1973 by French artist Serge Lama and at the base this song talks about a woman who leaved him to live in Morocco for her own career cause him like her was each one from its side married to another person (they was lovers so) and how is suffered of this separation during long years.
But life sometimes reserves us some good surprise cause he find her again after 10 yrs and was all both free and so they lived together and have a children (boy) and stay together until the death of her at age of 72 yrs. (sorry for my bad English)

@@pierreraymond5202 C'est une belle attitude. Mais chacun s'exprime dans sa propre langue ... Que faisons-nous avec le néerlandais (ma langue maternelle)? Faire confiance à ‘Google Translate’ n'est possible que si vous avez déjà une bonne connaissance de base d'une langue. Parce que ‘Google Translate’ est tout sauf parfait. Parfois avec des résultats ridicules. Il y a des gens qui utilisent «Google Translate» pour traduire leurs réponses. Et cela sans une solide connaissance de base. Et c'est clairement perceptible. Plus d'une fois, il faut relire plusieurs fois une telle réponse pour la comprendre.
@euro vision Je partage entièrement votre point de vue. Mais même dans un petit pays comme la Belgique, c'est difficile à défendre. D'autant plus que nous avons deux grandes et une petite zone linguistique, et les flamands (au nord) ne vont pas loin avec leur langue néerlandaise. Par conséquent, ils sont généralement bilingues (néerlandais et français).
L'anglais est également devenu assez bien établi au cours des dernières décennies. L'allemand n'est pas non plus un problème pour de nombreux néerlandophones en Flandre. La population francophone de Wallonie (sud) a plus de problèmes avec les langues étrangères. Ils peuvent bien sûr aller plus loin dans le monde avec le français. En Belgique, il est normal qu'un Flamand qui se rend en Wallonie parle français. En d'autres termes, il est fondamentalement tenu de connaître et de parler le français. Sinon, il ne peut pas faire grand-chose là-bas. Cela vaut également pour un Flamand néerlandophone qui voyage ailleurs dans le monde. Vous voyez, ce n'est pas si simple.
