so I have to say you are one of the few I have seen that really shows what kind of potential this instrument has .. most people just kinda saw on them and it sounds cool but you are next level
Thanks! There are quite a few good players out there but most are trying to make music; I'm just playing whatever comes to mind. If I don't record the good stuff I'll forget it 5 minutes later. Check out @alravi8707 and @nikon.b.folkpromrak if you haven't already
I made this one and it's kind of unique sounding from what I have been able to compare it to over youtube/etc but I like the sound of the instruments made by instagram.com/tagelharpa_lair , talharpaskaldshop.com/ and www.camillamargheritaferrari.it/ all made by people who play really well. They all have a different sound.
For these videos I was using 2 D'addario long scale viola strings (viola C and G string) and a 1/2 scale cello string of the same brand (A string on a Cello). I have since switched the cello string to a d'addario heavy tension zyex viola string. It will really depend on your instrument, this one has a 16" scale length but it was a lot of trial and error to find what sounded good to me.

Thank you. The lower two are steel viola strings, the highest is a steel cello string (higher tension makes it louder)
What are you tuned to?
Mine has cello strings in G3-D3-G4
