As a port fan. It’s ridiculous we won that game. Port we’re down by 2 goals with 23 seconds remaining before Rioli kicked that goal. The noise was crazy like there was a full house and the first 3 quarters it was quite a dead crowd. Unbelievable!

When I used to play football as a kid in school. For whatever reason, our teacher used to have a rule, that we weren't allowed to soccer kick the ball. Which is really funny after what happened in this game.
I do not know why we have to call it a soccer off the ground when kicking the football off the ground to advantage especially in the wet has always been part of our game? Nothing to do with soccer it's has always been part of our game. As well as if someone stops a goal the commentators always say wow like a soccer goaly? It's part of our game not soccer stop referring to the other boring code.

The key to port winning was the umpire blowing 3 free kicks in a row to gift willie Rioli a goal. Then port go straight out of the middle and score another one. This win was a gift from the umpires and should have never of gotten within a kick

We were always taught get the ball forward towards our goals by all means necessary away from their goals. It might be punching the ball, tapping it forward any metres gained is our advantage. Then if the opportunity arose were we could kick the footy off the ground through the goals and it's quicker than picking it up cos you are so close to the goals then go for it.
