Where did you get your Race Render? Did you just download it to your phone and if so, what else would I have to get to have it function properly (ie Go Pro camera)? I know I'll have to get a way to mount it but that's no problem.
I like all of this. Smooth. Sounds fantastic. Lap 12 rocks. Do you soak the take off's. Formula V or other sauce? I'm about to test some 200tw NT05s with 5 prior two day events. They were hard and shiny but still have 3+ days of tread. A few light coats of WD40 softened them up. Followed with a couple of light coats of Simple green to be sticky. I'm very interested in how you sauce the takeoffs. As always, I enjoy your track videos. Rick
I dont soak the tires, just run them. How old are the NT-05? I have run MANY laps on those tires. If they are over 3 years old don't waste your time. Start tire pressure low on the NT05, about 27 psi to start the session. And thanks.
The NT05s were new this year. They have worn well. Eight days at Barber and two days at Road Atlanta have been run on them this year. There is still tread but the rubber was hard and glossy or glazed. They are stacked on top of a fresher set of tires. The difference was easy to see and feel. I don't have a durometer, but the NT05s were harder and slicker than a fresh set. I simply sprayed a light coat of WD40 and after a day it was soaked in. The tires were no longer glazed and a little grippier. So I put on another coat. 24 hours and again soaked up the light coat. The tread feels almost the same as the tires they are stacked above that have only one weekend on them. Tire soaking has been done for decades, but it's new to me. But being a research junkie it seems that there is a lot to learn. It's considered cheating in racing, but we aren't racers. Formula V is one of the treatments with a large following of users that run slick takeoff's. Instead of the tires cycling out, they can be run to the cords. You may want to check it out. Again, great video. And I will take your advice and start at 27 psi. We aim for no higher than 34 hot.
Hi, do you happen to know what the car was at 9:22 and 24:04? Thx.
Car at 9:22 was a buddies E46 M3 Race car, the other car is a KTM XBow race car that races in Pirelli World Challenge

You can buy Race Render online, I think it's $50. I have a TraqMate data system with a Mobius camera. This video was not taken with a phone.
