Master Scovill's method makes great sense, but I only have DCA's available. Going to try this on my next gig, will also be doing a 16 track recording. In theory it should work almost the same, main difference being you can't put any processing on the DCA like you can on groups.
Go back to the previous videos. Sure you could, but it will affect all your other sends and gain structure because you are affecting the upper chain of the signal, and not down the chain with where your groups sit.
Do engineers really not understand this basic stuff? I’ve mixed large concerts sounding great on a Allen and heath gl 3200 with proper drawmer bss and kt outboard gear….SPX 900 sde 1000…pcm 60…if you can’t mix on that adding 1000 s of options won’t be better…
Is there an uncut version of the masterclass anywhere?
😊
Could you also you DCA when you don't have enough group to play with?

Nope. If you have no groups it is better, I bet, to get the masterchannel down.
Dave Rat…does a very simple version on a Midas analogue console…..
Look drums on bottom vocals on top everything else in between…
