The khatra is not an active motion we do in release. It is the result of the tension we built up at full draw and we let it happen in release. I did the same test a few years ago and the arrow shot with khatra was a little bit faster than without as a result of the tension at full draw.
This is exactly what I said in regards to opening on the shot. This is natural. A forward motion is not though. For the forward motion to be a result of tension release, the tension would need to be forward rather than expanding into the draw
