I am a paramedic educator, so I want to point out a key thing on "preparation" Patient care reports are often protected by additional regulations (HIPAA) that other documents (like an LEOs incident report) are not; and therefore the healthcare provider should not be able to bring it from the place of business to court. In our area, these must be subpoenaed separately via a specific process. I have had several attorneys get quite upset when I have explained this to them.

Can the defendant meet with the prosecutor before trial to find out the best way to testify in court? The officer is just as non biased witness stating the facts? He is not the accuser, right? Also, why is the officer paid by the plaintiff if he is just a witness? Why is he dresses in uniform? Will the officer be charged with contempt of court if a no show?
