benq have a weird thing going on with those bezels as they are supposed to get rid of outside focus or something idk, its weird but there is a reason to their chunkiness
well i couldn't really pay the price they were asking on this monitor , found it a bit overpriced , so i just payed 50 euro's extra and ordered the ASUS PG248Q instead :p
Hi man, I just discovered your channel, great review! I'm looking to pick up a 144hz monitor to use for gaming (Battlefield 1, Rocket League etc), but I also do graphic design. At the moment I use a Sony Bravia 42" TV (KDL42W705B), as I switched from console to PC gaming, and couldn't afford multiple screens at the time. I have a GTX 970, so I can't run BF1 (and other modern FPS games) at 144 fps, but Rocket League is no problem. With this in mind, would I need a G-Sync monitor (or Freesync if I switched to a comparable AMD GPU) to get the best performance at lower frame rates? Or would I be fine with a monitor like the ZOWIE? I can pick the ZOWIE up for £270 at the moment, but I don't mind paying more for G/Freesync monitor if they're going to benefit me. I don't mind using a 27" 1080 monitor as I doubt any bloated pixels will bother me, coming from a 42" TV running 1080. ps. I was also looking at the AOC G2770PF for Freesync (£220ish) and the Acer Predator XB271Hbmiprz for G-Sync (£350ish second hand). I briefly considered the Samsung 27" C27FG70FQU, but that seems to have a number of issues.
Heya - long message...:o G-sync and freesync, well that'll benefit you in BF1 tbh - it's a lot smoother and you won't suffer from tearing from occurring, so if you can afford it, yes get a monitor with a relevant tear-free technology built-in. So, the Samsung is a fantastic monitor, issues I didn't notice myself, but some have reported it (incl people who have also reported problems with other FreeSync monitors on an AMD GPU that has FreeSync enabled. In all honesty, I'd suggest an IPS panel. The ones you mentioned, apart from the Samsung are TN - and for graphical design will be horrendous. So, Here's what I'd suggest: Samsung monitor mentioned, or an Acer AB270HU or the XF270HU - the Acers are considerably more (especially the Gsync variant - the XB), but it's well worth the investment, especially if you're into graphical design.
Sorry about the long message haha, and thanks for taking the time to reply. The 24" Samsung seems to fair well, it's the latest version of the 27" that people seem to have issues with. A fix to a purple artifact issue has apparently caused ghosting, and there are some colour banding issues. I could just continue using my Bravia for my design work as I'll still have it set up, and I also have a Wacom Cintiq. So a TN panel wouldn't be the end of the world. I guess my decision now is G or Freesync. The latter would require me trading my 970 for an AMD equivalent, which might be tricky. Hmm! I'm conflicted. The Acer Predator XB271Hbmiprz seems like the best G-Sync for the money. I'm still researching the Freesync equivalents.
I'd stick to Nvidia personally, and the 970 is a great value card, despite its 3.5gb vram throttle...! Up to you really, and the games you play (as you've already stated). People will say things both ways, so it's for you to ultimately decide. As I said my suggestions already, the rest is up to you!
Yeah I think I'll stick with my 970. I did a bit of further research and I agree with you that IPS is probably the best choice, even for pure gaming, as I like games to look nice as well as perform well. The only thing holding me back is a lot of people complain about IPS bleed, something that would definitely annoy me. Anyway, thanks for your help! Liked and Subbed :)
TotallydubbedHD, i really want this instead of the xl2430, but i've been told that 27 inch 1080p is just very noticeable, compared to the 24 inch xl2430 is this true, that it's really that noticeable.
How does this compare to the Asus PG279Q? I know, there are two different pair of shoes: different resolutions, no gsync here and different panel. But how they compare in terms of Colour, unput lag etc.?
I was looking for this monitor review and was wondering how will it fit to my IKEA desk called FREDDE and... here it comes haha. Didnt expect ill see this monitor on my desk before ill buy it :D
Go into your GPU settings buddy; and likewise, your laptop could be the limiting factor due to its port version, refer to this video for more info: ruclips.net/video/daHrqIFieBU/видео.html
Shouldn't it get some more fresh panel revision and more modern dp controller helping achieve better freesync range? In addition to being sold for less and having better design of course :)
I tried the Acer Predator GN276HL and movies were a desaster. Games as well since the some textures got really blurry and lost their sharpness, including creating some sort of shadow (maybe ghosting?) so I had to send it back. Bought this Benq now (it should arrive tomorrow) and really I hope I do not have the same problems.
This reminded me once again to check my monitor in device manager and sure enough W10 has once again deleted my 2730Z driver and left me with "Generic pnp monitor". Dammit Microsoft!
I bought this monitor from Amazon and when it gets here it doesn't want to turn on what do I do please help this was hard work earned cash just wasted please help me before I die of depression

2 videos 1 day? Proud of you.
For some 27 inch at 1080p might seem to big but its not that worse then a 24 inch 1080p
haha - I should have done during the week but I'm ridiculously busy :O
And yes, true!
I know this is a dumb question Do I just plug display port straight into my gpu and then into monitor and it should work?
Yup!
Thanks for this review, I appreciate your time.
thanks bud!
totallydubbedHD £367 I have invested well :)
But I got the 4K version 27" for the price mentioned above, I don't get charged tax on products :D

So I have a Samsung CF591 and it’s a bit blurry for some reason. Would this monitor look any better at 1080p?
Fox250R it shouldn't be blurry. Check your gpu settings or scaling in Windows. This wouldn't be any different.

Watch either video and see my conclusion for both
Personally I'd give both a miss for the Acer XF270HUA ;)
4ms gtg is awful and you will get screen tearing.
Does this run 120hz on ps5
hey what actually your work? do you borrow or buy all monitor your reviewed?
I get these for loan and have to send them back - I do this all for fun.
I play with a 1080p 27 inch monitor for over 2 years, i don't notice the pixels anymore
Hi I’m looking to get a gaming monitor for under £300 is there any monitors better then this or is this the best ??
So these 144hertz monitors do not use a regular HDMI? I'm new to monitors and looking to pick one up, but I just wanted to make sure.
for FHD, you can use HDMI, yes - I just use DisplayPort when I can - as even at 1440p, you can run a higher refresh rate.
You won't get the 144hz with HDMI... Use DP
@@oni1614 you will if you have hdmi 1.4 or higher, get your facts straight pls
Very quick question! Does the Monitor come with a Display Port or an HDMI?
specs + video
No i mean does it come with an HDMI Cable or Display Port Cable, sorry for that!
totallydubbedHD would be awesome if you could clarify! Does it come with the Display Port cable?
It comes with a DVi D cable, HDMI doesnt support 144hz
@labib Ahmed dunno man, got missinformed i guess 😂 I deleted the comment.
It says HDMI works to get 1080@144hz - have you tried this at home?
It may can't be compared to IPS, but how is the picture quality compared to VA panel, for example, VA panel from EX3200R?
Again, same thing.
Is really so bad having FHD on 27" panel? Everybody tell me is too low res for that diagonal. But more than 400€ for a tn FHD panel is a shame .-.
Well you can see the pixels more
hey could you give me a link to your wallpaper at 5:00 ? Thanks

hi! does this monitor support HDMI 2.0, will it run 144hz on HDMI?
honestly can't remember, see the specs

Hey there, i have the same monitor and i connected it to my laptop using hdmi and in the windows 10 settings it only goes up to 60hz. Why is that?

Shouldn't it get some more fresh panel revision and more modern dp controller helping achieve better freesync range? In addition to being sold for less and having better design of course :)
Oh maybe - although I cannot test that and wouldn't know as I'm on NV
The Black eQualizer function does not work on this model?
Cannot remmeber sorry
it does
Does hdmi work with it so u can get 144hz
no, you need to use a display port which should come included with the box, hdmi cables can only go up to 120hz.
What about playing videos on this monitor? Any problems on 144hz? I'm talking about video with ~24 fps.
yes of course that's fine
