Hi Team. I say ONE MONTH in the video but you'll likely have more time than that because I am slow as molasses. Probably aiming for Mid-October is a safe bet. Also- Because The Sims is The Sims, I cannot edit the lot descriptions because I had already saved/uploaded the lots. Without removing them and re-adding them to the gallery, they're just blank - lol. Which is fine. You'll just have to find them under my gallery ID Chic87Sims. I was going to add hashtags but them remembered I cannot edit them.
Maybe since you love plants so much you could do some sort of series about that? For example, I am totally clueless about them. You could go over which ones you have, which are the easiest to maintain and how to, etc... Seems like you could keep them pretty short and it's something you seem to love and have knowledge of. 🤷🏻♀️ Looking forward to the shell challenge. And remember self care when everything is chaotic, women/mom's often forget to take care of themselves too. ✌🏻
Thank you so much - I really needed to hear that. As someone who works from home, there is a constant struggle to not fall into a trap of "because I am technically HERE, I've gotta do it all." And that was true before the baby too. I put a lot of pressure on myself and because I do have some level of executive dysfunction, I feel like I need to do everything all the time but yet find it hard to actually finish things I start. And then I realize I forgot to shower or eat, etc. LOL
A second channel sounds good! And I'm also a plant lover! I don't have as many as you (i don't have that much space) but I'm always rearranging them to get more space. Recently I rehomed a monstera which was getting so big which gave me space for 3 or 4 smaller plants 🤭
Space is always an issue but moving here did give me more space for plants. I also have better light here. However... I am now in the "find out" stage, as I got a lot of babies (cuttings and small plants) over the spring/summer and they're either not small anymore or are not going to be small much longer and I'm like oops, now what... lol I need to invest in more grow lights so I can utilize my dining room space. And I want to get a plant cabinet for my bedroom... After that? There will literally be no space left. Monsteras are no joke. My monstera deliciosa is in my office but will need to move soon due to space. My adonsonii and thai constellation are in my big living room but not for long. May have to swap places and then after that, idk, that's a bridge I'll cross later lol.
I really enjoy your creativity. If you were doing a more personal channel or more personal videos I would like hearing you talk about how you mentally (or physically) storyboard. With Decades in particular - maybe how attached you get to the characters (even if it's not that deep and you're not too attached, I'd like to know how you can still make them come to life in the moment while playing because I got very attached to some of them!) I'm also interested in what level of engineering you're having to do in the background versus what level is reacting to the game/dice rolls, that sort of thing. Would be happy to hear you talk about creativity in a general sense too. I daresay I could learn a thing or two about plants as well!
I have been thinking about this comment since I read it yesterday. I really appreciate that you're interested in this but I truly don't know how I manage to come up with the storylines that I do, especially since I let the game do a lot of directing. It could be a really fun discussion for me too - basically examining myself, lol - and I appreciate that you got me thinking about it. A little known fact about me is that I am a writer. I wrote and published a YA novel about a decade ago and have written multiple other books in the series. I also write some more adult stuff for fun, but... with all the extra time I do not have, haven't done much more with it since first publishing. Perhaps having the "writer's brain" helps a lot. That said - even when I write, it is in a very chaotic manner. My best friend is also an author and she maps everything out and is EXTREMELY organized. I am the exact opposite. My brain just isn't wired that way. I do think the characters "come alive" to me in my brain both in the sims and on paper when I am writing. I am not sure how to explain it and need to think on it more, but each sim has a specific flair to them, so as we're playing the game and things are happening, my brain starts "fitting it" into who that sim is and how they'd feel about things, etc. Interestingly, now that I am writing this, I realize I am also the same way with horse riding. I just FEEL it and do what FEELS right but if you are one of my riding buddies asking me for help getting your horse to do what mine is doing, I can't even put it into words how to make it happen and sound like a blubbering idiot when I try to explain. I used to give riding lessons but could only give them to beginners because I couldn't explain anything beyond a certain point. I just DO it but don't even bother asking me what I am doing, lol. And the fact that I somehow got to horses from the start of this conversation is another mystery of the way my brain works, lol.
@@Chic87Sims The fact that you are a writer makes SO much sense... I cannot believe that I didn't guess that! Would love to hear more about the YA series or your process in general/route to publishing and I would def like to hear more about how you feel things out and your instincts (in creativity, in horse riding etc) though I appreciate that may be a lot harder to convey! Honestly, you should have been my jaw drop when I saw the word 'writer' - like of /course/ you are. Why wasn't that my first thought 😂
Hey, are we allowed to use CC and how do we tag it in that case? Also, idk if you maybe say this mater in the video (sorry if that is the case) but when is the end date? Because I will be really busy until next weekend (13-15th of Sep), so if you need it before then I'll pass. But if I have the time, I might try 😊
I think that don´t use CC and let her put CC in the house later on or you can write all the creators in the description of the build. Hopefully she will answer to you about this, how she wants it to be with CC. She said at that she will give us at least 2 months maybe even more time to do this. So take your time and have fun.
Hey! I left a link in the description to a video where I have a list of the medieval/historical CC that I DO have. But, it may be easier to just not use CC. If you use CC, it's probably best to disclose it so I can download it if I do not already have it. Also, thank you for reminding me - I forgot to mention that I am going to buy the medieval build pack just for this because I do not currently have it, lol. I have most packs/expansions except for a very select few, so hopefully we won't run into too many issues.
Hey @Chic87Sims I do a LOT of Medieval building in the Sims. Mostly houses but there is a Monastery, a Roman bath and 2 villages on my gallery if you ever need anything - Jesj7. Maybe one village, dont remember of I uploaded the 2nd one. I will do your challenge, Sounds fun and I need new ideas, the houses are getting old (no pun intended) LOL
