I rode a 1968 bsa lightning 1980 to 1986...great bike...rode from Mich to Texas in 1981...
Sick!!!
my old ch had a magneto and it NEVER failed me. so i dropped big $$$ on a magneto for my 78 triumph. it NEVER worked right. like yours, it used a morse taper to connect it to the exhaust camshaft; it would start to slide... thirty seconds later it would sound like a cement truck falling off a cliff. timing it was tricky, but i did it so many times before i gave up, that i got pretty good at it. spinning the magneto had too much resistance to keep the taper from slipping. finally went back to some electronic shit.
Yes this thing gave me quite a few times of trying to get it to stay in place. It’s got lock tight on it for now so we will see if it holds for a bit. I hope it does
That's just peachy . and that's coming from a guy that rode a 71 A65 Lightning hardtail chop , hence the name : bsaguy :) Cheers mate !! G. Speight
It’s a pretty sweet bike, I only test rode it a bit, but it was alot of fun.
Nice fix! I think if could source a stock unit, would have put that on. But have with the build!
That might be what happens if this doesn’t hold.
itsa sssweeeeeet bike!!!
🤘😎🤘
think eye member seeing it in da h0rse n0w dat u menti0n it!
🤔
Ya man, it’s got all their cool parts on it for sure.
@@843chops indeeeed it d0es.
✌
Very cool, but those handlebars can't give you very good handling. I always opt for wide bars for better control of the bike.
It’s not as bad as you think honestly. Not my preference either but it’s how they built it years ago
I just don’t get making a points bike into a mag bike. Looks ugly and gains nothing. Apart from that and the bars, it’s nice bike.
No battery.
