Добавлен 29 дек 2022
Starting a RUclips channel of some of the bikes I’ve put together and built in my garage, Instagram @843chops. More content in the works with a shovel chopper build and continuing work on the panhead.
Best Sportster Ever
Heres my thought on how to fix a Ironhead Sportsters issues. and make a super cool lil chopper out of it.

Dude I’d love to make you one. Send me a design you want me try
@@843chops eye just want it t0 say, B3ND3R 🤘😎🤘
Dude I got you.
@@843chops st0ked!!! 🤘😎🤘
I’m going to get a stamp so I can imprint the design next time. And it will be only the best highest quality aluminum directly from old Harley parts lol.
I wonder d if it is still functioning. I wonder who is there? They used to have a site. I ain't been there. I
There are still on instagram, but this is my first time going
uh 4 cams rule 2
oh iron heads rule
First Harley was a ironhead so figured I’d build a really fun one this time.
😁
That's only the second time I've seen that done with a Sportser.
I’d never seen one in person, so figured I’d build one.
@@843chops there's another guy. He's got a RUclips channel. Works on bikes in his garage. Of course I don't remember his name. Doesn't matter. He had one in his collection. He never elaborated on it. I just thought it was very cool.
I’ve seen I think frost77 is the channel did one, definitely gave me some inspiration. I still had just never seen one in person.
@@843chops yeah, me neither.
I want! How much? 😁
I gotta use it in a show or 2 but then it will be up for sale.
@@843chops I figured, nice work!
Thanks man. I’ll post a video up when I decide to sell it.
Не очень то безопасно. Замотает ноги в ремень и цепью яйца оторвёт
Love the d,I,y aspect man, the purest form of motorcycling in my opinion, great job
Thanks alot. I really enjoyed doing this build.
Интересная передача.
Lil war pony rite der.
She’s a good runner that for sure
I hate those forks
very nice job,,Only thing I would have different is a1200 motor.
I haven’t tried it with a evo motor yet
Thanks
my old ch had a magneto and it NEVER failed me. so i dropped big $$$ on a magneto for my 78 triumph. it NEVER worked right. like yours, it used a morse taper to connect it to the exhaust camshaft; it would start to slide... thirty seconds later it would sound like a cement truck falling off a cliff. timing it was tricky, but i did it so many times before i gave up, that i got pretty good at it. spinning the magneto had too much resistance to keep the taper from slipping. finally went back to some electronic shit.
Yes this thing gave me quite a few times of trying to get it to stay in place. It’s got lock tight on it for now so we will see if it holds for a bit. I hope it does
Nice work buts lots of work I’ll bet. Had a 74 hard tail 1000 rear drum no front, Super E. Changed the points to a Dyna S. Rewired the whole thing. Was awesome when it ran. I said WHEN it ran. You all know. I like the magneto eliminates all that friggin wiring. Looks awesome 👏
Thanks man. Yes getting rid of all the wiring harness stuff is definitely needed to keep these old ones on the road.
Is there a parts list for the divorced trans? Could this also be possible with a early Evo 4-speed
Shortsters is who I used. Idk if his website is still up but he had pretty much everything to do this.
Nice fix! I think if could source a stock unit, would have put that on. But have with the build!
That might be what happens if this doesn’t hold.
yessssss dude
How do you register it? What the engine says or what the frame says? My dude does awesome work everything he touch turns to gold is a dope dope bike!
Thanks man.
As someone who doesn’t know anything about bikes, what’s the point cover?
So the old ignition system on these bikes was a points ignition. This cover purely just covers up the ignition since you needed to do regular maintenance on the points.
This is true recycling, beer cans from the cookout to a points cover. Super Cool
Thanks man. I’m going to try and get the design cleaner next time.
This is how America lost the motorcycle market 🤷♀️
BEST CUSTOM I EVER seen and i been looking a LONG time !
Thanks I need to actually build a show bike later. I was just trying stuff on this one.
Jockey shifters ouch
I love em
@@843chops had a 47 knuckle head when you could pick up a basket case in the winter for $1,000.00 a buddy said jockey shifter but after I rode his I said F no cause I've got ham hands and rebuilt it totally stock. Went for $10,000 when my folks sold it for me as I'd left the country. Should have kept it . .. but the 80's were a blur
I’m looking at a 39 knuckle project for the winter but we will see.
@@843chops what's the going price these days I'm in Israel so the oldest thing here might be a WWII BSA
Well done love the content very inspiring. Looking forward to your future builds
Thanks man. I can’t wait to start the next one.
shes s00000 fkn ssssick!! 🤘😎🤘
make me a p0ints c0ver dat sayz B3ND3R plzzzzzzzzz!!!!
That primary chain is drier than a popcorn fart😂
It gets an oil mist from the breather, much more than that and it just makes a mess everywhere.
I've been digging this build since you cut that transmission off. This is such a wicked bike.
Thanks man, I think this is my favorite bike so far. But after this week it’s back to fixing the oil leaks on the panhead lol.
@843chops lol, the never ending leak hahaha
Hows the springer front end otherwise? I had that fun game with the motoiron rear wheel on my sportster. Added the hughs sprocket lock for added clearance issues to resolve. I just dont know how anyone can get anything built without a lathe and mill.
So being completely honest this springer rattles, and though it rides fine and is actually pretty smooth going down the road, the rattle was driving me crazy trying to find it until I realized it was the rebound springs. I think with a little work it can be a nice springer.
Interesting. I might try this. I have a 72 xlch that has a messed up primary side.
Definitely a good option, I will say taking a saws all to the case was a fun time for sure.
That's just awesome !! And here i am with a 77 that I can not get to run .lol Cheers . G.S.
This is a 77 as well. Great motors man. I love old ironheads
beast
Thanks man. I really like how this bike came out.
@@843chops me to
You are having way too much fun now. Making parts is so cool. Keep up with the great content 🔥🤟🏼
Thanks man. I really am just having fun trying this casting stuff. I got a plan for next cover that will hopefully come out a lil cleaner.
Bad assed dude. You'll get better at it and then you'll sure enough be a bad MoFo.😮😅😂
Solution Mikuni 42 U r welcome 👍💪💪💪💪
I do love a mikuni.
Clutch on the right handle?
Left foot is the clutch. Right hand is the rear brake.
Sportster? With a ratchet top, doubt it
Yep 77 divorced sportster. Shovel frame and trans.
Chain saw blade would also look cool on the shifter
Sexy!!
"indention"?
Yes into foam
Hey man whats the next bike night or event you plan on going to? Would like to meet you sometime! I live off of d road near harbor freight and planet fitness.
Not sure of the next one down here I’m going too. This weekend I’ll be at the smoke out rally up in NC. I need to go to another bike night down here with low country but I’ve been wrapped up in the garage lately.

Lmao
Fuck yeah 🤘
Thanks man.
Hell I like it foam dents and all. If you didn't care for the foam dimples could you fly cut it? Finally subbed yer channel btw. I got a short vid of my Troublehead on my channel..
Thank you. Yes I’m going to try making just the indent of what I’m trying to draw in the foam since it picked up all this detail easily. I cut everything deep because I didn’t think it would show this much.
@@843chops ok. Standing by to see results. Hey what do you think of paughco short goose cut drags?
I haven’t ran them honestly but I am a fan of short pipes on most bikes. But the exhaust had to kinda match the lines of the bike as well. Paugho does make good quality stuff.
Checked out your shovel man. I have those same tanks hanging on my wall. I need to find a bike to run them on.
@@843chops that's Ruby. FLH-P. Had er since 1984. Going to be putting on some Paughco 34" goose cuts here pretty quick. Gotta do some tranny work so might as well...
I’ve seen a ton of your shorts on YT and always seen the words “divorced” iron head and it just snapped in my head that it was cause you cut them and no one is actually getting a divorce 🤦♂️
lol, I actually call the bike alimony because of the divorced idea. Thanks man.
