If you run the PS4 version on a PS5 (for trophy stacking for example) I assume it locks to 60fps at 1080p? How are the loading times of the PS4 version running on PS5 hardware as well?
Honestly, I'm quite surprised, I expected the PS4 version to be a lot worse considering the game already doesn't run perfectly on next-gen consoles and even the PC version has had some issues.
The months delay really paid off, they did a great optimization on the PS4, I didn't expect it to be able to maintain a locked 30fps let alone have a performance mode with unlocked frame-rate (and I think it's amazing that it stays very close to 60fps sometimes) the team really did a great job.
This makes me more hopeful for the Switch version and curious to see how it performs on the base Xbox One, as it's a bit weaker than the PS4.

This is a feel-good story. A developer actually taking the time to ensure previous gen versions of a clearly current gen game function properly instead of shoving it out day and date with the other versions. And it's a good game at that. Good on you, Avalanche and WB.

It's honestly very impressive how it runs on the base PS4 considering how aged the hardware is in 2023. Respect to the devs for this accomplishment
I installed a ssd drive. Compared to ps5 video on loading times. Om few seconds after the ps5 and om playing the game before ps4 hdd is in the meny

Great job by the devs, but it just shows how good the PS4 hardware us. Mark Cerny delivered quality. Remember this old console produced, uncharted 4, TLOU2, God of war, Horizon zero dawn, GT6-7.

A recent PC patch improved performance tremendously, and I'm ready to guess it was possible due to the massive optimizations made for last gen consoles.

Nah I have a Samsung ssd 870 evo and it's running totally smooth 1, 2 second's to open a door.
I believe they use the HDD for the test.
The fact that the base ps4 can hit frame rates in the 50s is very impressive.

No es comparar todo con cyberbug 77 si no que últimamente todos los juegos que salen en old y gen actual (ps5 x series) los de old (PS4 y one) salen horribles con calidad de texturas horribles, framerate injugable y plagados de bugd

Honestly it's getting pretty close to where I'm satisfied either way now. I grew up with Mega Drive, Xbox, PS1 and PS2 and gaming has just come so far since then.
Don't get me wrong, some PS4 games do look awful to me, but a lot don't. A lot I am grateful to experience and think they look gorgeous. I could definitely tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, but the gap was smaller 1080p>4k. Still noticeable, of course, but by the time the PS5 is a last-gen console I'm sure I'll be happier with it than I am with my PS4 right now. Things are at the point now where they hold up better and better, and I'm so happy I'm here to experience it.
This means Sony and any other console maker will have to figure out how to get more money out of people, because it's getting to a point where people are holding on to the previous gens longer, because there's less of a reason to upgrade.
@@anthonyrizzo9043 this is true. There's some room to grow with RTX, future versions of DLSS and UE5 though. We're still probably a generation away from where things will start to get quite minimal.
This current gen has enough of a difference for it to be warranted. 120fps, ~4k 60 on a few titles, RTX when possible, SSD loading times. Hard to see what comes after this stuff has been refined a ton.

I'm impressed, this doesn't look like a very different experience from the PS5 version. Obviously loading times, frame rate and resolution aren't as good, but textures and overall look of the game look pretty great even on the base PS4
I'm very surprised how well it works on PS4 fat/slim. I was expecting it to be like 25fps almost all the time. Seems like a very good port.
PS4 looks pretty decent, if compared to RE4 Remake port that is pretty bad on PS4.
I got the under the map glitch 4 hours in on the PS4, but the game is a joy to play on it, no lag, you even get a uncap framerate option on the base PS4!!
I am playing this game on PS4 and I am totally satisfied with the performance.
Although there are a few cons like loading screen, texture pop-ups and frame-rate drops but when you are playing the game you enjoy so much that these things dont bother you.

This game felt like a dream. From its announcement to playing it til the very end. I cant believe this game came out and exists across all gen platforms. No controversy about it not working or bugs or ripping the gamer off once again with lies and misleading trailers. I had never used the word 'whimsical' til i played this game. Incredible.

Now, as a sort of a "budget console gamer", my answer is always "YEP!"
I remember playing Cyberpunk day one on my OG Xbox One. Low frame rates, bad image, but I had a blast either way.
To everyone reading this: just go ahead and play the games you love/want - no technical downsides or downgrades are worth depriving yourself from having fun. I know for some is worse than it is for others, but remember why we love this hobby: the games!

I did the same but playing cyberpunk on 60fps 4k is another world.... Old gen is so bad if they run lower than 30fps cyberpunk when it launch crash every 10 min and erased save files... But that doesn't mean there aren't new good old Gen ports, dead islands runs and looks Amazing on old Gen. At the end it's luck and don't buy at full price

Great comparison. I always find these fascinating. But I don’t fully understand how this works. So you record your screen and upload this on RUclips. But RUclips only has a few options to watch a video in. We watch it trough or own screens at various qualities. So we still perceive these visuals trough different outlets at different qualities?
Set the RUclips setting to 2160p from default 1080p on this guy's videos.
I see other RUclipsrs with their YT video max's at 1080p and they try to show a ps5 resolution.
The Ps5s lowest res is 1440p so it's pointless.

Osea que de next gen nada de nada aún

Recuerda que PS4 ya va con texturas al mínimo a 900p , si hay diferencias.
Por lo demás juegos "Next Gen" siempre se ven 4-5 años después.
Los ejemplos que das son juegos hechos en PS4 porteados.
@@luiscanales696 pues yo las unicas diferencias que noto es el tiempo de carga en los escenarios de resto todo se ve igual, un ejemplo claro es god of war ragnarok, horizon forbidden west, gran turismo 7 osea el tope grafico ya se alcanzo, yo hubiera sabido que todos los juegos que saldran en ps5 siguen en ps4 y solo se ve diferencia en los tiempos de carga jamas hubiese vendido mi ps4
A ver gente ya tengo la edición en formato físico y os digo la instalación:
Al insertar el blu-ray el sistema copiará 12.400 GB comprimidos al sistema, una vez instalado la 1.00 ocupa 39,26 GB, el parche 2.03 ocupa 24, 373 GB una vez instalado el juego ocupa 64,24 GB. Eso si la versión de PS4.

Play station four still holds up till this day though. Obviously the graphics are better on PS five. I can’t deny that the PlayStation 4 is still good.

Really great port. I've been morbidly curious about it being a desaster but they actually delivered. Now I'm curious about the switch version.
if your playing on last gen specifically pro or One X i would highly suggest swapping out the HDD for a internal SSD it helps with faster loading times and less pop in due to the faster read and write speeds that a standard hard drive can't achieve it makes a big difference

Excelente port, ahora si podemos decir que el potencial de la ps4 fue bien aprovechado para que el juego se vea y juegue muy dignamente.
Varias empresas debieron tomar de ejemplo esto pq sacaron ports lamentables y peor aun, la gente se los justificaba diciendo que "la potencia de ps4 ya no da para más", mi gente, cuando se trabaja bien se pueden lograr buenas cosas.
El retraso en su salida fue tiempo bien aprovechado

En ese aspecto es lo mismo que en next gen, sin embargo son 24,373 GB la 1.03 de actualización en lugar de 50 GB como la next gen, tras instalar el parche puedes jugar sin conexión sin problema alguno. El juego ocupa 64, 24 GB en PS4 y la 1.00 son 39,26 GB.
Realmente el juego está muy muy bien optimizado en la old gen que en la next gen que ha tenido muchas más actualizaciones y eso se nota y mucho .

Hardly any difference between PS4 and PS4 Pro - ever so slightly crisper. You can see a pretty significant jump from last gen to current gen, however, it doesn't look bad on PS4 at all. I'm glad because I've been waiting for the PS4 release - just ordered. Looking forward to *finally* getting into this game.

If I previously bought the PS4 version and played it on the PS4 PRO. But later bought the PS5, is there any difference between the digital PS4 and the PS5 version when I play it on the PS5?

These are two different versions of the game, you can play the PS4 version on PS5 but you will not play the game in the PS5 version, the graphics will not change nor the loadings since you are using the PS4 version. To play on the PS5 version you have to repurchase the game in the PS5 version because there is no PS4 to PS5 update, it's actually stupid of them but hey that's how it is..
Ngl, I was doubting it would look really good and it would run great in the last gen console, but I am surprised how well optimized it is, and they don't have to sacrifice :OO Kudos to the dev team!

PS4 version is really good. The only downside I experienced was long loading screens when fast travel, but that's expected with its HDD.
Otherwise it's perfect! Well done porting the game for a 2013 hardware without any sacrifices!
