Since your "Tadpoles" are made from hot glue, couldn't you just heat the needle or the hook to make it easier to penetrate? Or would that deform everything?

Valid point but when I tried that it pulled hot glue with it when the hook came through. It is kind of a pain shoving the needle though it.
