  • The 2019 Honda Insight is the spiritual successor to the discontinued Civic Hybrid, and slotting into the lineup between the Civic and the Accord. The Insight takes the best parts of both cars and injects them with a dose of green cred and two doses of tech.

The tiles/icons are moveable so I'm sure that's not the default. It's probably been modified by other reviewers demonstrating how you can customize your home screen by moving the tiles/icons around.

You can rearrange the tiles in whichever order tho....

"Sport" makes a HUGE difference in acceleration, and totally changes the way the regen works. 44 seconds in and you're already clueless. In Sport mode you get maximum effort from both engine and battery. You cannot get that in Econ mode even with the pedal on the floor.

@Roadshow. How do you not dive into the interplay between connected devices' information and the dash?

This review was so basic with no personality - Cooley should have done this review.

This is the second time I've heard you say "lousy with technology." Do you mean "loaded"?? Because you said nothing negative about the tech

Lousy is a positive word in this context.

Sport not only make it noisier, it does put both electric motor and engine work together better. You can feel the difference when you "launch" on a green light for example. Of course its no speed demon, but sport is quicker than eco from a stop. 😊

I have this car. The sport mode makes the car pretty darn quick. And you get 38 mpg in town, whereas I've gotten in the mid-60's to low 80's with the eco. What a dumb thing to say.

1-2 miles of range on just electric?? Why even put an ev only button it's basically useless

Andrew, as a fellow squeaky voiced geek with a lot to say, gotta slow it down bro.
I risk being harsh here, but the intro was going great and then I just started zoning out. The message gets lost. And I don't think it's all cadence & lilt, it's partially script too. Red pen to maximize message and soul, then stretch it out. Again, sincere apologies for my brutal honesty
Fwiw your base screen presence would rock an Odd Couple duo style review. Need a gruff counterpart.

It's all opinion and everything, but it seems that the claim that the car is lousy with technology is not backed very well. However, as a viewer, I do not make the content and cannot be too harsh since watching a 4 minute video doesn't make me an expert on the subject.

You said the car was lousy with technology in the first 20 seconds. You then showed us the infotainment system, but didn’t really clarify why this was a bad system. I’m not even sure if this was a positive or negative review of the tech in the Insight.

Touring trim - sales guy kept tryna sell the extended warranty, talking about now Honda is 70% tech, 30% mechanical, so past reliability might not speak for THESE cars ... I still said, "No."
I still have up to 6K miles to decide if I want HondaCare extended warranty (84 months, 120K miles for about $1,100) but I doubt I'd need it ... dude was peddling a $3,500 "Allstate" service contract - and you KNOW that half of that goes straight to dealer and salesman!

Smooth Earl salesman sees nothing of the commission from any warranties. That goes straight to the dealership and the finance manager.

Wow this video is so disappointing. This guy is doing a video about an infotainment system that he obviously has not dived into or learned about. I mean seriously look at almost 90% of the comments. This video should be redone without this guy as part of it. Lousy with tech? Lmao, it's rated as one of the best infotainment systems for cars under 50k. Also, All the saftey tech is standard on all models. Supports both Apple car play and Android auto. Car companies are so slow to adopt both let alone even one... Look at Toyota. Two phones can also be connected at the same time using either USB port. You're criticizing the layout of the tiles when they probably have been moved around by other people... oh because they can move around. They can also change in size or be removed. So if you only want 4 tiles on a screen you can. It's like s tablet. The navigation system can also pinch-to-zoom not just the plus and minus. The radio also has a built-in hard drive that allows you to rewind, pause, and replay songs on the radio from when you started the car. Some cars have that most dont. The settings tab can control a lot of features of the car. For example having your car lock the doors when you walk away from it or remote start temp settings. The 3 min it took to write this I did a 10 times better job than this guy. You would expect that are from a channel like this. This guy clearly did absolutely no prep. for the record I don't own a Honda and I don't work for them. I've had a kia, a Ford and now a Chrysler 300. I just watch and know a lot about car tech.
