I bought this scanner back in 1979. It was a big improvement over the BC 210 which was my first scanner.

I have a bearcat 210 that I bought in 1978 and still use to this very day. I have my favorite local repeaters programmed into it. Congratulations on the subscriber news!

I had a 210XL. I think it had 18 channel capacity and had a virtually identical case with a green display. It finally gave it up a few years ago. The holes are for a vehicle mount. Mine stopped working on AC power after a very short time and I continued to use it for many years with a DC power supply. It didn't have all the features you've described on this model.

P3982 on the back means the 39th week of 1082 and this unit was made in Puerto Rico. A “C” would denote Cumberland, Indiana. Very upscale unit for the time. 😎

I believe your adapter for the antenna wont fit because there is a adapter in there. I believe that's the silver peace that is sticking out slightly from the antenna jack you should be able to pull that out and put the regular Motorola adapter in.

With the shortwave bands being dead, it is great to have a scanner radio for VHF/UHF listening.
