For best results and accuracy, you should always insert the probe fully, with no metal showing. Try it with a potato and have them perfectly cooked, every time. I love my Yummly so much, I bought them for Christmas gifts for my family.
I bought a Yummly from Lowes back in June for 89 minus my 10% military discount. I have used it about 15 times and found it to be very good. The ambient takes a while to come on and is not very accurate however, the internal probe on mine matched the dot probe perfectly every time, well I did stop verifying after about 5 cooks as it was always spot on. I do agree with you though that the range is no where close to 150 foot. Mine periodically drops signal when I am in my living room which is only about 50ft from the smoker. Overall I am very pleased with it. I chose it over the Meater because I read something about the maeater saying that I would need an old unused device to use as a relay for the signal to reach beyond just a few feet. I do think the probe is a bit thicker than the Meater and the point is not as sharp so it does take a bit of effort to get in some meats. Just my experience with the Yummly.
Looks like it was not inserted in the meat as it is supposed to be, The ambient temp only shows after you insert it in the meat as the instructions on their site say. Mine worked great after I followed the instructions. I use the IPhone app.
You put the thermopop in a different spot, you should have removed the yumly and put the other thermometer in the exact same spot if you want to do accurate reviews
Purchased a Yummly and while it worked great at my house on some steaks, it didn't do so well at my brothe inlaws house on brisket. It kept disconnecting and once I wrapped the brisket, it completely lost connectivity. Even if the holder was right next to it, just could not find it.
You really aren’t using the thermometer the way it’s described. In the chicken thigh, you had exposed metal on the thermometer. You’re not sure not supposed to have any exposed metals out of the meat. it’s not gonna be accurate, because the middle of the thermometer is picking up heat without being covered by the meat.
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I made a boneless turkey breast in our air fryer. It turned out great. What can you not cook in an air fryer? Anyway, it was a bit of a pain to open the fryer and check the temp of the roast to make sure it was at that 165 sweet spot. It made me wonder whether one of these would work. I'm thinking so. Can you try it for your subs?

Thanks for Watching! I appreciate the feedback! Thank you!
Good to know they sell it at Lowes.
Thank you for the hinest review. Every other review seemed like they were advertising.
Thanks for Watching!
Thanks Tom for these awesome reviews my man…Much appreciated!!! 👊🙏🇺🇸
Thanks for Watching Bobby! I appreciate the feedback and support!
You suppose to push the probe all the way in. Not showing any metal.

Thanks for all these reviews Tom💪💪
Thanks for watching Eric! Appreciate the support!
Thanks Tom, 13°difference is not accepted for accurate temps.. thanks for the good review!
Agreed! Thanks for Watching Bobby! There will be a comparison review between all three coming up soon
13 under is about right when you factor in carryover from resting. I always temp my meat 10 tov15 under to allow for the carryover
Thanks for Watching Daniel!
Wait,..at 9:26 the app says ambient is 408 and the grill is showing 400...not bad for chinesium.
Thanks for watching Jim!

I got a yummly a few months ago. I really don't think it's the most accurate thermometer.
Thanks for Watching Druvian! I agree!
Bluetooth distance claims for any device is always unobstructed line of site.
Thanks for watching Eric! Agreed, and the max out around 30-35 feet
Do a demo first, by yourself, instead of wasting our time while you fumble around with the thing....just a suggestion.
Thanks for Watching!
With the amazing power of RUclips, you can fast forward to the demo. There might be a demo on RUclips on how to do that.
@clarkkent1521 Thanks for watching!
I have a yumly, I've had few issues. I use it as a guestimate. It was gift, I don't recommend
Thanks for Watching Adam! I appreciate the feedback!
This is best for prime rib in the oven. I would not use this for the grill.
Pellet grill is a smoker
Thanks for Watching!
The probe has to be inserted all the way up to the black plastic for the best accuracy. Read the directions!
Thanks for Watching!
Directions say nothing about that..
Nice Review Tom 👍👍
Thanks for Watching!
I have a huge house and nothing Bluetooth ever reaches-not even close
Thanks for watching Eric! I have the issue with it reaching into the basement, so I always do a basement test
Thanks, Tom. Lol Premium??
Thanks for Watching! Lol……
The only advantage I can see to using one of these wireless probes is if you're cooking on a rotisserie. The diameter of the probe seems very large.
Thanks for watching Ted! I agree with using in a rotisserie, the diameter isn’t really that big when you consider what’s all inside of it

Thanks for Watching Ted! Yes! Great idea!
00:09:37 didn't insert the probe all the way...
