I know that this probably won't be seen by many, but I'd like to just jot down a kind of analysis of this song. FYI, I haven't seen the musical that this song is from, so I apologise if I say something that is said during said musical or doesn't add up to the musical. This is an analysis of the song out of context, only using the lyrics as my base. Thank you for reading.
So, even the first lines indicate a feeling of jealousy from the singer. I feel as though the point is that the prince (or most men that the singer has met at this point) only seems to only be interested in a woman for her looks. The woman's looks are described in a way that equates them to features of other things, such as roses, birds, or deer. This indicates that the man could very well find what he's looking for (Probably beauty) in other things in life than a person, so it makes no sense that he would seemingly need those things in a partner.
The singer and chorus lament over this fact, wondering why a man would chase someone who is only pretty and (presumably) feminine like a fairytale, instead of settling for a more realistic person, such as them. It's also brought up that the singer could break the woman's arm, indicating that the other woman is very frail and/or fragile and weak, but the man doesn't seem to care just because she's pretty, or maybe because the other woman is more traditionally feminine than the singer, as the singer would be quite strong to break someone's arm without much trouble, no matter how fragile they are.
The singer also lists things that she likes about the prince/man that don't have much to do with his appearance, such as him being clever, and charming and very good at holding a room. This could imply that while she is in love with the prince/man for his personality, the prince/man is in love with another based on looks alone. Possibly, the prince either rejected her or brushed her off without getting to know her because her appearance was inferior or less beautiful, than that of the woman who's mentioned (probably Cinderella herself).
The singer does even list some good things that she sees in herself, such as being patient and actually quite pretty. This could be seen as vanity, or attempting to mask jealousy, but out of context of the musical, this implies that the singer wasn't simply rejected for being ugly, but simply for being less beautiful than Cinderella, or too ordinary looking to be considered attractive in the prince's/man's eyes, hence the "How do I make him see I'm special?" line.
When taken out of context of the musical, this song looks more like a frustrated and jealous musical vent from one of the characters because of the unrealistic standards of her crush. I realise that the song might've been originally intended as a villain song, with the characters trying to make Cinderella look bad, but this is simply my own interpretation when going into the song blind.
