Dude good job seasoning that grate! Looks nice!!
Thanks a lot. Also thanks for watching.
So I’ve been looking into getting an arteflame but then I saw this, would you recommend one over the other? I don’t really know what the price point is for these but I know the arteflame is around $200 for my Kamado Big Joe. I saw they also can do a removable insert like arteflame. Just wondering if you’d prefer this over the latter.
So here is my 2 cents, for what it's worth. Both are heavy duty, and excellent quality. This particular one was about 90 dollars, so it's cheaper and custom to anything you want. They can also make inserts, they just charge extra. Arteflame when using without the insert and flame coming up in the middle does have a wow factor. But your own custom grate has a wow factor too. For me I prefer the burn shop because I designed it with my logo and got both a half griddle and half grill grate. Either way you go brother you will be happy. Thanks for checking it out.
TheHollarBBQ thank you So much, love all your videos, keep doing what you’re doing!! I think I’ll hit up the burn shop...a lot more plus(es) it seems. I’ll say I saw them on your channel maybe they give you something. Found your channel through the Grilla Group, thanks for the input
Thanks man I appreciate it.
So how has it held up? Does need to be oiled after every cook?
its held up really good. Just treat it just like a cast iron skillet. Light oil after every use.
Nice grate. Lots of possibilities with customization. Thanks-Phil
Thanks Phil. Possibilities are endless. Thanks for checking it out.
Would you use this
To sear a steak on the griddle side? I'm always in search of the perfect sear
You surely can. Would be like throwing it on a hot cast iron skillet.
I looked in to getting one from the Burn Shop a while back. Looks like a great one.
I highly recommend it. Very good quality for the money.
Good Job bro that grate is awesome and the burger crust looks great thanx!!
This is pretty cool. And that half and half is practical
+Critical Eats Japan very practical, the burn shop is an awesome company. thanks for checking it out.
How has it hold up I’ve been on the fence since I saw a user review state that it started rusting even though he took well care and store away would like some feedback and of course more videos of this and the arteflame
GM, good questions. I have not had mine very long, only about 3 weeks. I will say this though. It is a big piece of metal very similar to cast iron. You can take cast iron and store it and it will also rust. These things like to be used. If you are using it and keeping it clean and oiled I dont see it rusting. I have had no issues with mine the little time I have had it and I live in the Northwest, one of the wettest climates in America. If it does get rust it will be very easy to scrub it down and re-season it back to new. I have seen videos of people taking completely rusted cast iron pans and turning them black again. I also grill alot. I mean I cook when its hot, cold, raining, freezing, snowing, hailing, hurricane, wind storm, blizzard, bad air quality, even when food prices are high I will still grill. I think you get the point. The more you use it the better on it. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more videos with this and others.
That grill-grate looks awesome!!
Cheers
That is BADASS!!!! Thanks for the video/info!
No problem, thanks for watching.
That is very cool! Just sub’d too. Came over from yt cooks. Cheers!
Thanks CJ. Glad to have you sir.
Awesome!
James Hyde The burn shop does great work.
Very nice. Would love to have one of those.
Get in touch with them, they will hook you up. Thanks for watching.
what is the best way to clean it after a cook,, to have it ready for the next cook
All I do is use a scraper. Same kind you would use on a flat top. Get everything off. Then while it's hot put another thin layer of oil on.
Thank you
Fantastic. That looks great!
Thanks I'm really digging it.
Looks great buddy!! I’ve got a custom item on its way as well!
Nice Mike, these guys did exceptionally well.
Nice work!
Thanks Rus, I enjoyed doing this one.
Why not just use a cast iron pan on the regular grill grate?
You could do that but its just one more thing to worry about cleaning. I like having iron grates with the griddle side. Even if the whole things was grates I think personally it just hold heat better than the regular stainless ones. Plus its cool you can design it anyway you want. Thanks for watching.
These are great! Will be ordering some for my bbq buddies. Can I ask what did you do to the outside of the Weber kettle? High heat flat black paint? Looks a little like a "rat rod."
Tom Evans lol yes sir it is high heat flat black. Picked up the kettle for 15 bucks and it needed a little love. You will love the grates. The burn shop does an awesome job. Thanks for checking it out.
Did you do anything to the kettle exterior to make the paint stick? Just picked up a free kettle and want to replicate your look!. Keep the videos coming.
I just sanded some of the rust spots or anywhere the paint was coming off then just painted it.
10-4! This week's project. Thanks
I love this where can I buy one please

Yeah and not bad prices either.
Very cool. I might just give them a Hollar sorry for the pun
LOL pun all you need. They were very easy to work with. No issues just let them know what you want.
Like to see you cook some beef fajitas, on your new grill.. GLR. Surgar land. Texas.
I will try and fit that in. I do have a fajita video already out from a while ago. Not on the new grates but still some fajitas. In case you want to check it out. ruclips.net/video/tk2VtuxL_Xc/видео.html
Why burn wood or charcoal for griddle burger. You not cooking over flame or smoke. You don't even close the lid. I don't get it. You'd get the same cook in a frying pan.
jimbo4110 Maybe so but I can tell a big difference from a burger cooked inside in a pan vs this. Same concept as my blackstone griddle. Smoke does get in it. Maybe not as strong but it’s there. With this I have the option of grilled or griddled. Thanks for watching.
Great review of this grill, i will be getting one next year once i move into a house! I am your newest subscribe from the Facebook Group, RUclips Cooks! Hope you can do the same, us cooks have to stick together, great job! Love the fact you have the grates from Amazon right there. ^_^ Thanks so much for sharing, have a wonderful evening my friend.
