    I purchased the Ambiano 8 Quart 9-in-1 multi-use programmable Pressure Cooker about 3 years ago.
    I am disable and need all the help I can in preparing meals.
    By my doctor's orders, I cannot eat processed foods or foods from restaurants.
    I am on a Whole Food Plant Based diet. All my foods have to be freshly prepared at home.
    I eat a lot of beans, brown rice, steel cut oatmeal, root vegetables, kale, turnips and mustard greens. I cook lots of vegetable soups without meat. It takes only 2 minutes to cook a large pot of soup.
    This Ambiano Pressure Cooker really helps me to eat healthy foods in a short amount of time. I am not able to stand over a hot stove for hours cooking. I just put everything in my Pressure Cooker, set it and forget about it until I am ready to eat.
    This is the best cooking appliance I ever bought from Aldi's.

    It looks like you could call this an ‘Instant Pot Clone’. That’s great news because this kind of device can be used as a ‘set it and forget it’ towards a healthy and hearty meal. Once your ingredients are in you can traipse off to do something else (or lounge around and relax). Depending on the recipe you could fill it in the morning, have it start whilst you’re working, and come home to a hot, hearty, delicious meal. If it doesn’t have a delayed starting function you might be able to fit a timer in the wall socket and set that.
    One thing that worries me a bit: the insert is non-stick. One of the reasons I absolutely love my programmable pressure cooker is its stainless steel insert. Easy to clean and no danger of scratching the insert. Another is that no matter how much you load in (up to maximum of course, no more) your actual cooking time from the moment it’s reached pressure will always be identical. Two portions, four or six… if the manual or your experience or the recipe tells you cooking time is 30 minutes, it will be 30 minutes. The variation comes from how much you load in, and how long that needs to heat up sufficiently to come under pressure.

      Couldn’t agree more. It took me a while to get used to using a pressure cooker. I was a little nervous at first having watched my mums cooker top version blow it’s lid when I was a kid. Stew all over the ceiling 😬 😂

    • @eddavanleemputten9232
      @eddavanleemputten9232 Год назад +1

      @@Mandyglen - Those old pressure cookers were scary! We never had accidents but I have very clear memories of my mother being very nervous around hers and never allowing us in the kitchen when it was on the stove. She’d get quite creative with her threats of what would happen if we did.
      Biggest challenge for me with mine was the fact that there’s almost no evaporation… there were a few hilarious moments, like when I cooked a whole chicken for too long and ended up with shredded chicken because I had to fish out every single rib and vertebra that’d completely come loose. The chicken looked fine until I tried to lift it out. It just fell apart completely. Delicious broth though, and shredded chicken sandwiches for days. 🤣

      @@eddavanleemputten9232 Hilarious 😂 We use the old stove top pressure cooker all the time for all our Indian cooking and never had any accidents though cooking rice or Biryanis in it are tricky. The timing is the key. Usually beans etc get cooked in 10-15 minutes, vegetables 5-7 minutes..and chicken portions in 25 minutes.

    • @eddavanleemputten9232
      @eddavanleemputten9232 Год назад +1

      @@paromita10 - Pressure cooker Biryani sounds like next level pressure cooking to me! I tend to use a Moroccan earthenware tajine for those. Start on stovetop, continue in the oven. Whilst I’d never pretend it is authentic, when my parents happened to drop in unexpectedly with friends from Punjab, they did like what I’d happened to make. I’d been feeling homesick for the food I’d learned to love living abroad, felt the need for richness and the comfort of a dish that’s been building layers of flavour over time, and wanted A LOT of it comparative to the size of my household. They’d been chased towards shelter from unexpected bad weather and knew my house, kitchen and pantry are always open. I guess the stars aligned.
      I did call it “a slow-cooked rice dish” though, not wanting to risk offending them. They did like it, judging by the speed at which it got eaten. Either that, or they were REALLY hungry and VERY polite.
      I need to make one soon. It’s been too long!

    Thank you for a brave effort at demonstrating the cooker. As a general rule, never explain anything by using examples. The example is never relevant to what the user wants to do.
    Always explain the principles clearly and succinctly and then when all that has been done carefully and intelligibly, and only, then give an example or two.
    I just needed to know how to set the machine to a high pressure for a pre-set time (without being concerned with dishes or ingredients). This is not only unclear from the instructions provided with the appliance but also not explained in your video. Sadly I am none the wiser.
    Apart from the instructions, this appliance has a big downside. It is good to be able to fry some initial ingredients and then add the rest of the items to cook under pressure. This is not possible with this kit.

    • @Mandyglen
      @Mandyglen  2 года назад +3

      This isn’t a tutorial, we’re just taking a look at an appliance and seeing if it works. the instructions in the box explain how to use it. It does actually allow you to fry foods and then add ingredients for pressure cooking 😊 thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment 🌈

      @@Mandyglen yes it does take time to get use to it. I spent ages reading the booklet, did the test run and then cooked .
      However I do t know if my pressure vault has the wrong picture because when I set the programme and turned the vault nozzle to closed steam but the steam was coming out the whole duration and when I turned it towards releasing the pressure, the steam stopped.
      I bought mine over 2 months ago and just managed to use it yesterday
