    I extend sincere thanks to CJ Explores for their thorough exploration of Australia, covering its cities, beaches, and outback.
    Visiting New Zealand and Australia has been a dream tourism destination for me for a long time.
    I suggest incorporating street food experiences and interactions with locals and expats into your vlogs.

    • @cjexplores
      @cjexplores  5 месяцев назад +7

      @@KenzoTenmaM hi Dr Kenzo 👋🏼 of course. Perth is fantastic as well. It’s located on the river not quite on the coast, a little bit like Brisbane. Except the beaches near Perth are much nicer! Gold Coast has much more infrastructure than Perth I would say, it’s been established for a longer time and is really well developed. You will certainly get more bang for your buck over in Perth in terms of house prices - that’s whether you’re buying or renting. If that doesn’t concern you and you want a busier lifestyle then Gold Coast would certainly work for you. If you like things a little bit quieter, want to save some money and don’t mind being more than a few hours flight away from the nearest major city then Perth could be the pick! Hope this helps!

    After living there for 17 years, I wouldn't live on the Gold Coast again. There are so many broken elements of the GC. It's not what it used to be like in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s. To mention one, the real estate market in (2025) is severely overvalued and constantly goes through booms and bust cycles. The food is generally subpar, 6/10 for most restaurants, because you get treated like a tourist instead of a long-term resident. The GC is not a place to go for employment unless you plan to work in tourism & hospitality (it lacks diversity). Making long-term friendships is complicated because, eventually, everyone leaves the GC and returns to where they came from (very transient). The doctors are not the greatest if you have a rare, complicated health condition. If you live on the South End, you'll constantly drive back and forth to Brisbane for Specialist Doctors (180km Return Trips) because you can't find a decent doctor. Let's not forget the out-of-control skyrocketing crime rate. I could give at least another dozen reasons. There's a reason its population is around 700k, and cities like Melbourne and Sydney are 5M plus.

      Depends on what you're looking for! It's quite family friendly etc and a lot of fun but I'm not sure which city would say is the best. Sydney is great for tourists, Melbourne has a really fun creative scene, Perth is quieter and close to amazing beaches. Darwin is affordable and a pretty cool place as well.

      @cjexplores  5 месяцев назад +2

      Hi Sophie 👋🏼 there’s a lot of great Facebook groups which can help you find rooms/houses/apartments to live in on the Gold Coast. There you will get an idea of the current rental prices. A room in a shared house is obviously the cheapest way to go and you could find yourself living with other students in an area close to your uni of choice.
      In terms of money, I think you could get by on a part time job. I certainly did when I was living in Brisbane when I first moved here. The wages in Australia are very good and they pay extra for night time and weekend work.
      If you want to make it happen I’m sure you can Sophie!!
