Great to see you back. I left Mooloolaba 35 years ago when my little coastal town started losing all the natural beauty to bulldozers. When I returned 4 years ago I immediately felt genuine sorrow and grief when I saw housing estates where once was untouched bush. I can't go back because I have too many memories of paradise lost. I guess I'm just old fashioned.

The real reason people get up early on the Sunshine Coast is the amount of bird song ( & kookaburra laughs ) at sunrise. In my experience Queensland is an amazing place to bring up kids but it’s not for everyone. I’ve known people who have left the UK in the depths of winter and arrived 30 hours later in the middle of summer then spent the next few months moaning about the heat. I think the information you guys are providing is great for people looking to come down under. I just hope that we all don’t get trampled to death in the rush to come here

I'm 45. I grew up on the sunshine coast . The sunshine coast used to be amazing . Coolum was a hippie commune there was only 2 highrise apartments in Mooloolaba and there was a single lane highway to Brisbane . Every guy had long hair no shoes and a surfboard under their arm . No-one chased a dollar everyone just cared about what the waves were doing that day . There was no crime and you could just have a chat with everyone and I mean everyone. It was such a great place that when people from cities on holidays they loved it so much they started moving there . Problem is they brought their fast paced money hungry life style with them and over the years it changed from what attracted them to the sunny coast in the first place . Now it's traffic everywhere people everywhere . Everyone's trying to look wealthy etc . Everyone's been priced out of the market . If your renting your working your ass off just to cover rent because it's stupidly expensive. Good luck affording to buy a house and if you do it'll be so small unless your budget is in the millions . There's no life work Ballance because you have no money after your exorbitant cost of living . We left the sunshine coast 7 years ago and it's the best thing we ever did we now own 45acres of beach front property in a different state and we own it with no mortgage now that's work life Ballance . You ask anyone that grew up on the sunshine coast in the 90s and they will all tell you it's crap now and it's been destroyed.

I couldn't see a mechanic for a fortnight due to high demand so there is definitely a lot of work opportunities in good paying work here. We always welcome good people who are chilled and just want to have a good life. It might be good to come in autumn as summer is a little hot compared to England but a good industrial fan makes a difference.anyway hope this helps. Best wishes and hope you get to Australia soon 😃

@@CreatureCribs sorry to hear that mate. Typical government bullshit. We have no problem with bringing thousands of trouble makers but deny skilled workers who would have a decent purpose in life. As far as COVID goes it's everywhere in Australia now so denying immigration of skilled productive people is absolutely pointless . I hope things happen for you soon.

Please don't tell people. In the last 10 years it's got way too busy. It was fine before - we knew holiday makers would go home at the end of the school holidays - but too many new people and the useless council have ruined it.
