As much as resetting Jolt Haymaker in the air would be great for Mac, making his ground game stand out more is what I think he needed. Some may say these are minuscule, but for someone who has played the character for a long while these are a step in the right direction.
In order to fix that theyd need to retool him completely i wouldnt expect that to happen. If we ever get another smash game maybe they help him out but idk

I’m pretty sure it’s always been like that. I saw the peanut video you’re probably talking about though. If you use up b on Lucas or Ness for instance it’s never connected properly
I was really pissed yesterday since I was playing against a Mii Brawler and anytime I landed an Up-tilt he’d just get a free nair to jab. Hope this fixes that issue
Since some characters have that issue with their grounded juggle tools remember to adapt by reading whatever option they mash with a parry and whatever is your fastest oos or better punish or whatevs.

Nothing really changed retarding the actual combo, you could do this before the patch. The big update was that because they increased the knockback growth on up-B, this combo now kills.
ok just wanna point this out real quick. The reason that down tilt up special works in smash 4 and NOT in ultimate isn't because of his up special knockback. It's because of the added FAF to down tilt in the transition between games, same reason his dow tilt doesn't confirm into KO punch anymore. They haven't altered the frame data of down tilt since the game started. The down tilt up special confirm isn't back.

I like both characters but I really hate facing a scrubby Mac on quickplay with Ganon... I have to decide to camp them out and punish or try to face them straight up and have a 50/50 on who lands a hit first.
Neutral B is good for absorbing multi hit jabs and some projectiles. you can hold it and either cancel it with the shield button , to catch someone mid Jab animation or hit them with neutral B since they wont know

Right? Can we please get some better recovery options at least? Characters like Sonic can airdodge out of their up-B, and Sora gets to side-B out of his up-B... it's stupid as hell.
Well he needs his down b to beat projectiles better for one and make nair 1 have a little more hitstun so it actually combos into a grab if you land with it. Then fix his up b hitbox missing on short characters so that he has a somewhat viable oos option.
@@mitrimind1027 Honestly the biggest thing that would help ganon imo is giving his jab reflector properties, for smaller changes I wish he still had his smash 4 up air, it is way less consistent now being slower (frame 8 now vs 6) and having a smaller hitbox (it is now like 230 degrees instead of 270), ganoncide should win ganon the game again, I wish nair still had the 3 extra active frames it did in smash 4 at the end, you could poke people out of recoveries with the lasting hitbox, and then yeah the changes you suggested would be nice as well.
Up tilt into KO punch, Down Tilt into Up B, better Counter, and an even more powerful KO punch.... We might get one more patch after this and I hope they don't take any of these buffs away. Return of the Mac.
I picked up the game again since this patch came out. Most of us main little Mac because he's very low effort/easy to play character that rewards button mashing. It was fun to 2/3 stock people in about a minute all the way to elite smash, but that's where people seem to know how to gimp me. Will be interesting to see where this patch will take mac

A few points: 1. ganondorf automatically COULD NEVER be the worst character in the game because he's used in the speedrun for World of Light for the endgame. 2. The other buffs for Mac for his other specials are solid as well since they allow for some interesting counter play now. I do like what they did to his neutral B as it has some useful "side effects" to that 2nd input now.
Not sure how the first point means anything, unless it's an offhand comment about he's actually the best at something. But just cuz he has the best burst damage on opponents that's don't move out of the way doesnt mean he's not the worst character. Btw, this isn't me saying Ganon is garbage, just not sure why the speedrunning thing is what makes him not the worst
The second input is what’s used to input the punch during Straight Lunge. The buff, to put it simply, states that you can release the punch earlier now.

I'm very much not a LM player, but I found that you can actually buffer nair after utilt to get extra height and have it still combo, that's how much hitstun the move has now.

Personally, I like down throw to up-B. Doesn’t always work if the opponent DI’s, but it’s nice to know that it kills even earlier than it did before.

Also more shield damage on down-angled forward smash is a big deal (and will straight up kill from a shield break more often now)

What I enjoy about these Mac Buffs is, they didn’t really touch any of his weaknesses, they just took his strong bits and made them stronger.

Wouldn't combo at kill percents unless you had help from a platform. Utilt has more hitstun now, so now it can combo.
