I’ve been screen printing for about 8 years and was looking for a way to get a more painterly effect. Your process videos are very good for those looking for more advanced tips. Thanks!

Your videos are really informative and exactly the info I was looking for in regards to reduction printing and multicolor printing. Thank you for the knowledge drop! I'm definitely putting this to practice.

very curious what the benefits/drawbacks to the drawing fluid/screen filler method instead of the typical transparency method

This was done during covid when students were working without photo emulsion and transparencies. Also these techniques can be performed in combination with photo-emulsion screens. Thanks

I really enjoyed the video, its the best I have seen using this technique. I used screen filler once, and after printing left it on the screen for several days, and was then not able to get it out of the screen when I was done, using the Speedball Speed Clean. When I contacted Speedball, they said that you only had a limited amount of time in which to remove the filler before it would be permanently set into the screen. You mentioned using Greased Lightning, and I'm wondering if that would work better than the Speed Clean solution, and how long, in your experience, you can let the screen filler stay on the screen before you remove it. Thanks!

They have changed the formulation in the screen filler and I am having a harder time. I am using Franmar Waterbase ink wash and having better results. Thanks

Nice vid, easier way to Rego, print black first, then lay colour on top then another black to finish.

I really just use a key line image - make some photo copies and play with either color pencils or water color. I love low-tech.

Fantastic videos, thank you so much. What kind of ink you are using here? Also, how long can you leave the screen filler on the screen?

These videos were designed to do at home or in your own studios. Build a base with hinges. Speedball screen filler, drawing fluid, acrylic inks, spray adhesive, wax paper mat board pieces and strips, sponges and bucket of water.

Can I ask a couple of things. What mesh count did you use for these prints and also which brand of drawing fluid and screen filler did you use?
    Thank you

It's speedball fluid and filler, it also looks like a 230 mesh screen. You can see the mesh count written in the outside edge of the screen frame!
