    Thanks for the review. I have seen a couple of vids on connecting the HomePod to Apple TV as an airplay speaker, which is my main interest, and was wondering if you could possibly do a video specifically on this. I'm considering updating my sound system and if this works as described, I may just consider a HomePod or two. Thanks.

    i just purchased on a 14 day trial, so far, so good, but I've heard similar sound quality for less than $100.....
    I love APPLE but I'm not convinced this product is worth a huge premium....

    You have a setting in iPhone to make sure music played through HomePod doesn’t affect your Apple Music recommendations etc.

    • @EFTM
      @EFTM  6 лет назад

      Yes, but then you lose the benefit of your listening history ON the HomePod - so its a loss for the account owner, because there's no voice recognition

    here is what I want to know: how does it compare to Bose Soundtouch 10, 20, 30 and JBL Extreme - ofcourse sound quality and volume wise.

  • @richardclark6113
    @richardclark6113 6 лет назад +1

    Homepod is great.
    Its mostly for audiophiles and the Siri integration for other tasks comes second.
    You can’t order a pizza or ask it for the sports scores.
    However, having owned an Amazon Echo now since September.
    I used the Amazon Echo for music 100% of the time. I never use its other skills.... ever.
    I would only probably want Apple Home integration on top. This is for controlling lights and heating etc.
    The initial claim to fame of the Amazon Echo and Google Home is nothing more than a gimmick.
    You will only have 1 day asking your speaker things like...
    How tall is the President?
    What’s the tallest tower in the world?
    After 1 day, you stop using these smart topic features.
    Does anyone who owns an android phone use Okay Google most of the time? Of course they don’t.
    You only use something when its convenient.
    I appreciate Apples effort to focus on sound quality above all else.

    When setting up the room location, is there an option for family room?

    • @EFTM
      @EFTM  6 лет назад +4

      It takes the "room" list from your HOME app - HomeKit - so setup a "family room" in there and you are good to go..

      I feel like its a way apple can prevent lawsuits, knowing people now a days are Sue heavy. Someone will go deaf and blame the HomePod because there was no warning lol. Like that idiot that blamed apple when they got into a car accident while on facetime lol. but yeay, it should be a toggled option

  • @robertoviana514

      When Alexa and Google came out with theirs, they didn't do that either. That ability came at a later date. This thing is much more powerful than those speakers, and in time should also gain that kind of ability. It'll will be getting a lot of updates.

    35-500 I don't care its still too much have seen read loads of reviews of this now and if your apple watch was not enough of a hint your review was too apple fan for me, I have heard it and it's good, not great and others had don't blind tests on apple fans and they couldn't pick out the apple device from the devices. So sorry, you did back up a bit from your first stance.
    The Siri tie in is very poor 90% of reviewers agree. My wife has an iPhone but I can buy two Sonos devices at this price point..
    So sorry I can't consider your review balanced, the statement over Siri NOT recognising different people was glossed over far o quickly

      (1) He mentioned no Bluetooth integration at 6:12
      (2) He also referred to people here "to troll the fanboys" - he must've meant you.
      (3) Bluetooth is lossy audio and AirPlay isn't, and if your main concern is audio fidelity you wouldn't want to use Bluetooth anyway.

    • @EFTM
      @EFTM  6 лет назад +2

      In an Apple Household all devices can use it - so there's no issue. Android - no, but as noted - trolling

    350 bucks for 8 speakers, half a siri and a obligation to take a subscribtion on apple music (that's another 120 a year). And it cost 79 bucks to make it!
    But....uhhhh....that's like making a crappy phone for 275 and sell it for 1100??? Yeah but dont forget you buy a piece of the company!! You het the Apple logo. Instructions how to skip paying tax and a manual how to make kiddie's of 10 years old to work harder and longer then 10 hours a day!! That MUST be worth something to???
    B.t.w. for 10 years we're in the 7.1 dolby age, and now we should go back to crappy mono??
