I thought it was done as follows: yarn over, insert hook thru stitch, draw up loop (three loops on hook), yarn over, insert hook, draw up loop (now there are 5 loops on hook), yarn over and pull thru all 5 loops. Hmm... this pattern is made using 3.5 mm crochet hook and DK weight yarn. It should fit up to a 6-month-old baby. What yarn weight did you use for your baby booties? :)
Don't worry. That's a very common problem. :) When I first started crocheting baby booties, I've made 5 shoes just so I could find two that were the same size. :D It's the tension, how tight are the sts. You will get it with time and practice. :) It gets better, I promise. :)

When you're stitching around with the pink, the wrong side of the sole should be facing up. It also looks like you're starting the pink at the center of the toe and not the heel. Very confusing!

Try a larger crochet hook and thicker yarn. The whole project will come out bigger than with the hook and yarn recommended in the video. 😊

Just add additional chains to your foundation chain and use those for your normal sts, and not increases. That will do the job. :)
