I am 64 and my body doesn't give up weight easily but in the last 10 weeks, I have lost about 10kg doing exercise with some dieting and averaging about 15000 steps a day, most days I do 16000 or so in my house. My maximum is 32000 steps in one day which if you are wondering took over 4 hours of walking fairly fast. It was hard at first but now I have adapted. Sometimes I add concerted muscle flexing in my upper body during my walking or pumping light weights which can be very effective for upping the calorie burning and fitness effects of the movement. There was a medical doctor that invented an exercise system called Heavyhands many years ago in which he added gradually increasing sizes of weights to his walking routine and eventually became exceptionally strong and fit through doing this. His VO2 max and strength per pound became exceptional. Cheers.
lost like 60lbs walking 10-20k steps a day for a year, felt great and transformed my body.. . now I deadlift 5 plates and row for a half hour a day and look like an athlete.. and do about 8-12k a day steps on top - all because I love it now.. 10k is doable, get at it.
I go for an easy 30 min fasted walk as soon as a wake up (5am), leaves me with tons of energy plus breakfast after the walk, then I go to the gym fully charged, lift weights for 45 mins, walking around during sets, then a 30 min run/walk and by 8am I already hit the 10K steps, and I easily end up the day with 15k steps just by moving through the day like I normally do, If I get behind for some reason, I will go for a 30-minute walk before lunch or in the evening, it's a matter of priorities to be honest, my phone screen time went down like crazy and my energy levels are through the roof, if my feet didn't hurt after 13K steps I would push it to 20K every day, but that is just too much for my flat feet for now, let's see later on. I have to mention that I've been doing this for 2 weeks now, and my weight dropped 2.5kg so far, sparring muscle cause measurements are fine.
I used to do this in university. Didn’t have a car, needed to get to clinicals and classes. Even in internship I walked to and from the site and the internship campus requires multiple half mile walks to get to some units. Easily hit 10k each day and when I stopped and finally got a car, I actually became stir crazy because I had more energy than I could ever use up!!
Even though I am just a calisthenics athelete from last 7 years and I don't do much cardio but I still walk around 17000 steps a day do to my lifestyle
I've been following the Vertical Diet for two years now and hit a 10min walk after every meal. I'm not a huge fan of cardio, but it helps spreading it out throughout my day!
well, 10K+ steps & Adjusting my diet helped me drop from 170 KG to 115 in about 9 months back in 2022, the only thing I wish I did differently was hitting the gym Sooner. but yes. it works, and it is worth it. even now it still pays its dividends by having the Cardiovascular endurance to do high weight (3plates+) high rep compound exercises
Working from home since the pandemic, I've been glued to my office chair and computer screen, neglecting all kinds of physical activities. I've been walking 10k+ steps a day, for more than a week now. I can definitely feel the difference from doing nothing.
Here's a tip. get an under the desk elliptical machine and put your tracker Through your shoelaces so it will try your peddling as steps. Brownie's mom could do that instead of walking around in circles at night.
In fact, while watching this video today, I walked more than 19,000 steps, and they were centered around walking in the university. Today, by chance, this video is a testimony, Glory be to God Almighty and praise be to Him. I seek His forgiveness and repent to Him...

I do this as well. I walk 10-20 mi a day plus a liquid diet and calorie deficit. Keeping track on different fitness apps. Definitely worth adding the steps in. Last was 26,138 steps
It's actually not a huge time investment to walk an hour and a half each day. I get roughly 14-15k steps in a day which is the equivalent of 10-12 km. I do 30 minutes in the morning when I wake up. I go for another 30 minute walk at lunch. And then a final 30 minute walk in the evening. It's extremely doable and not difficult at all. IMO it's far better to walk than to run for weight loss, because: 1.) It's low impact. 2.) Studies show that it burns more fat - even though running burns more calories. 3.) It doesn't stimulate the increase in appetite that running does.
as a nurse i do 8k - 10k steps a day just from my 8 hour shift. I like to go on walks before shifts too so sometimes i can end a day at 18k steps. has helped me lose some weight for sure
I used to weight 260. Am currently 135. Still have about 5-7 lbs left to lose. These last few lbs have been SO hard to get rid of. I have been getting 20-30k a day, I also eat very healthy. currently in a calorie deficit and have been for months to lose those remaining 5-7 lbs of excess belly fat. It’s just taking so long! 🤬
i did 10,000 steps in one shot for 30 days and there was no change in weight. i still aim for 10,000 a day and not always continuous and now eating g in a calorie deficit and strength training to lose fat!
On days I work, I regularly do 20,000 - 25,000 steps a day. There have been a few days when I even surpassed 30,000. I work in a car manufacturing plant, so in most stations I'm at while working, I am moving around a lot.

When he said his mom walks around the living room, that reminded me of my dad. Every night he walks up and down the stairs like 40 times to get his steps in🤣
As a primary school kid i averaged 10,000 steps from walking during just an hours break a day doing football, trampoline and karate. Some are considered the least inactive of activitys
I work in a construction site from 8 in the morning to 5 later on in the day and just from walking and not including any of the physical activity at work, I get more than 10.000 steps a day there
Honestly on my chillest days when i do basicly nothing i still manage to do 10000 steps and on average i do li 18or20 thousend im really a hyper active person i cant really stay still even when i have to be still for some reason i just swing my body left and right my personal record for steps that i recorded on a step counter was 40k steps on a mauntain trekking trip but im pretty sure there were days when i did much more than that cause my soles of the feet were burning like crazy , i also ride my bycycle for at least 10km every single day to visit my sister and 18/20 km if i have to get some groceries and i also lift But i don't notice much of a difference until i hang out with other people of my age that'when i see how limited most of them are physically in confront of me things that feels simple to me for them are just too hard if we walk for a km they are already exhausted and i honestly think that the physical limitation also limits your capacity of experiencing life at its fullest immagine not being able to visit that temple or monument or place because you cant walk for a thousend meters more or cant do 200 stairs more that's just why im grateful to have an active and healthy lifestyle
I did this last year during the colder months. When it got to the summer it became harder as I had to depend on super early or super late sessions outside. But the significance in your health can be amazing. The feet can be a major issue though. I got real bad cases of athletic feet. There's things to do help it but nothing is perfect.
Oh I’ll tell you what it does I need 27 days until I’m on a 1 YEAR streak it definitely helps you burn easy calories if your lazy and it can help to maybe boost your cardiovascular health if your a complete beginner if you want to maybe start running 🏃 and generally just makes you feel good so GET WALKING if your finding it hard then you can always go on a morning walk 20 minutes is an easy 2000 and then round house work and what’s ever gets you to 4000 and then if you finish work or shcool with 5 hours left of the day just try and get then in all at once but trust me it will be easier if you run a little 1 mile is 10 minutes and 2000 steps 😮 but yeah pretty much if you do go gym and walk there or do cardio or walk to work it’s gonna be pretty easy
Honestly, walking 10k daily makes you feel a lot better and tired at same time. However, if you are going at gym, like me, walking 10k won't be that friendly unless you are extremely obese.
I walk around 11k and climb 600 (stairs) steps everyday due to routine (have done this for over a year) and have been working out everyday for about 30 min for the last month and I feel better than I ever did. By 11pm I'm very tired, but that just makes falling asleep easier.
In 2021 i walked every free day for anywhere from 15k to 30k steps a day but never had any serious fat/weight loss... I kept my eating the same, but weight didn't go down much. I have a feeling that my body 'needs' to be around the 80 to 85kg to be 'happy' or something...
I hit the gym 6days a week and easily walk more than 150 000 steps a week.. But I have to add I do not work an 8:00-17:00 job, But calories in and calories out are also an important factor
On my last bulk a was struggling with cardio doing my 30 min jump rope sessions but this season it's a lot easier as i only walk for my cardio and i progress a lot better with this because i can do this everyday and not skip a session. I lost 8kg in 10 weeks.
Bro I go to the gym and also play padel. But somedays I dont even hit 1k steps…its insane how working from home makes move so little. Somedays my legs hurt from sitting..so get up and do get those miles in!
hahaha, fun fact, about 2 week ago I started to check my steps from curiosity. Daily average around 10.000 steps I have done but usually more in a day as a painter decorator, not added any extra walk. So I guess I need around 20 - 25000 steps a day if I want to loose weight. Plus I have days when I carry around a 25 - 35kg bag to work or back home with my tools...
It is actually crazy how little you can get away with walking every day in modern society. This is why I set myself a one year challenge back in November 2023: Every day, I track how many steps I walk, and how many minutes I exercise. For every 1.000 steps and every 10 minutes of exercise, I award myself 1 DKK (around 0,15 EUR/USD). After one year, I can spend the 'prize' on whatever I want - preferably on something I would not usually allow myself to spend on. And let me tell you, this have been the most motivating thing ever! Because the more you do, the higher the prize. It is not about punishing yourself for what you don't get done, it is about rewarding yourself for the effort you do manage - even on days where it is not that much. I am a bit of a nerd, so I created a spreadsheet where I type in the daily steps and minutes of exercise, and it then calculate on its own, and show how much I have earned so far. 🤓 I have 4 months left of the challenge, but I will definitely do a second year, if not more - see if I can beat the score, lol.
Another highly motivating thing about this, is you can actually see how much you improve, and see if there is certain patterns during the week or month. About a year and a half ago, my monthly average was about 2.500 steps. (office job with long hours) This is scary low, so I decided to try to improve it by changing my route to the busstop, so I would walk longer every day. Which helped a lot - my monthly average increased to 5.000 steps. The last month, the average is 7.500 steps. For the first 'jump' (2.500 steps to 5.000 steps), I changed my route to the bus, so I walked 15 minutes each way. This established as a new 'normal' baseline, and became a natural part of the day. For a while, this was all I had the mental energy to do. Not that much - but still an improvement. For the next 'jump' (5.000 steps to 7.500 steps), I increased the route again - I now walk 30 minutes to the bus each way. I think because I had already established the previous baseline of 15 minutes - so 15 minutes more didn't feel like that much more. On a normal day, I will actually often reach a few thousand more - the weekends is where I struggle. If I didn't make an effort, I could get maybe 1.000 steps a day. (pathetic, I know) I have set myself the goal of 7.500 steps on a normal day, and 5.000 on a weekend day. I have found that it is most effective for me to create a need to get out of the house. Like getting a salad from the great takeaway place 2 km away. Or choosing a pickup point for online packages further away than you normally would. In other words, make things less convenient/efficient than you have to. If I had a forest/park/nature right outside, that would probably motivate as well - but when you are surrounded by asphalt and car noise, I found the best motivator for me is the need to get from one place to another. I think my next focus will be to add a 5 minute daily workout routine, just some simple exercises, maybe before the morning shower. This may seem like a super slow way to build up for fitness people. 😅 But I think it is key for many of us who work an office job, and maybe don't have the most time, or best relationship to exercise. It is realistic, and feels 'easy'. And it can add up to a lot.
I walk 9000 steps everyday and I am in singapore and a student some times get 10000 but my highest steps Is 25,625 steps in one day everyone comment what is your highest steps in 24 hours its crazy
When we were virtual during Covid my gym teacher created a challenge who could get the most steps in a day. I was really determined so I got 32k steps that day and yeah he was surprised.
2 weeks ago i started going on foot to university instead of taking a bus (30-35 minute walk). I feel a lot healthier now. Walking is amazing

3:02 Arjen: "oh thats so güüd"
I go for an easy 30 min fasted walk as soon as a wake up (5am), leaves me with tons of energy plus breakfast after the walk, then I go to the gym fully charged, lift weights for 45 mins, walking around during sets, then a 30 min run/walk and by 8am I already hit the 10K steps, and I easily end up the day with 15k steps just by moving through the day like I normally do,
If I get behind for some reason, I will go for a 30-minute walk before lunch or in the evening, it's a matter of priorities to be honest, my phone screen time went down like crazy and my energy levels are through the roof, if my feet didn't hurt after 13K steps I would push it to 20K every day, but that is just too much for my flat feet for now, let's see later on.
I have to mention that I've been doing this for 2 weeks now, and my weight dropped 2.5kg so far, sparring muscle cause measurements are fine.
I work in a warehouse lifting 5-40kg boxes , 20-35k steps a day , i just end up eating more
Oh cool
So no difference in body because your diet is not good?
I used to do this in university. Didn’t have a car, needed to get to clinicals and classes. Even in internship I walked to and from the site and the internship campus requires multiple half mile walks to get to some units. Easily hit 10k each day and when I stopped and finally got a car, I actually became stir crazy because I had more energy than I could ever use up!!
Even though I am just a calisthenics athelete from last 7 years and I don't do much cardio but I still walk around 17000 steps a day do to my lifestyle
i usually walk about 13-16k steps per day because wherever i go i go by walking
it was worth watchingg, ohh it's browney he always motivates me
I've been following the Vertical Diet for two years now and hit a 10min walk after every meal.
I can definitely feel the difference from doing nothing.
finally a vid waited for so long
I really like your workout application it really have nice features. Espacially i like how you have recipes for different tasty meals.
I seek His forgiveness and repent to Him...
i started walking to school and back 2 months ago (15km) 5 days a week and i feel much better doing it and saving money on bus prices
Something tells me ur going to tell your kids you walked double that distance before you started to supposedly fight the lion that always comes back to life
5am and I’m already 2057 steps
i found walking 10k steps a day actual great it frees my mind realy helped me to relax as weird as it sounds
I walk 15-20k at my job every day, with lifting etc too. I eat decently and well. I’ve not lost weight at all.
Diet
Quite enjoyed this video. 👍🏾 It was very informative. ☺️
I go to work by bike. Every day, 5X a week. It's about 10 km round trip. I know, walking and cycling are not the same. But cycling is also great exercise.
I stood up and watched the video, and that got boring so I started walking around by accident, how brilliant
As a 16 year old I do 17 hours of sport every week, 5 tennis, 6 volleyball, 6 athletics.
I have noticed my life become easier, daily activities become so simple.
I've lost weight.
And I am clearly the most energetic and athletic person I know.
And it is the secret to my life
I walk 15,000-20,000 steps a day including the gym. I love walking
Matt D’avella is the goat! ;) Nice seeing you react to his video.
As somebody who does 15,000 steps a day I can confirm that when I was chubby and I started doing that I got bigger calf muscles
What about fat loss ?
Arjen already achieved the dream of almost perfect hair. It always stays in the same place no matter what!

@@GibbonHUNyeah it's not necessary but it gives you some kind of motivation to do it. It just feels nice. Imagine getting likes to stay fit lol I would take it anytime
It's okay to sit... but not okay to sit every day.
Exercise, and get better!
Been waiting for you bro
I do this as well. I walk 10-20 mi a day plus a liquid diet and calorie deficit. Keeping track on different fitness apps. Definitely worth adding the steps in.
Last was 26,138 steps
My commitment to exercise is that I exercise Monday-Friday but on the weekends a take a break but mostly every other day I get about 10000 steps.
3:06 i think playing sports that require you to run such as football help a lot as its a fun way to get steps in
As a 13 year old ,i walk about 9000 steps a day
It's actually not a huge time investment to walk an hour and a half each day. I get roughly 14-15k steps in a day which is the equivalent of 10-12 km. I do 30 minutes in the morning when I wake up. I go for another 30 minute walk at lunch. And then a final 30 minute walk in the evening.
It's extremely doable and not difficult at all.
IMO it's far better to walk than to run for weight loss, because:
1.) It's low impact.
Use walk up to 25 thousand, sometime more a day when I was super broke.
Lost over 3 stones ,my abs where hard and legs, back toned
I took the challenge from the guy in the blue shirt seriously and immediately started walking and watched this full video
Love from India 🇮🇳
On days I work, I regularly do 20,000 - 25,000 steps a day. There have been a few days when I even surpassed 30,000.
I work in a car manufacturing plant, so in most stations I'm at while working, I am moving around a lot.
im a 100 kg male with the height of 177cm (225 lbs 5.8ft) i do walk 11k steps a day bcs my uni is a little far from my home i am spending 1 hour a day approximately but there is no difference in my body in terms of weight and i dont really eat more then 3k calories a day its between 2700-2800 it doesnt make u leaner but its really helps with sleep getting out of bed and really good for mental health
Watching this video while completing my daily steps 😊
When he said his mom walks around the living room, that reminded me of my dad. Every night he walks up and down the stairs like 40 times to get his steps in🤣
I also walk and did 10k + step/day its almost 2hours❤ I'm also in Lowcarb diet. its the best thing i do so far, I lose 20lbs.

I literally just span in my spinny chair for the entire video moving my feet around
As a primary school kid i averaged 10,000 steps from walking during just an hours break a day doing football, trampoline and karate. Some are considered the least inactive of activitys
I average 15-20 thousand steps a day and I’ve lost 17KG in 6 months just from this and 3 days of running, game changer
I work in a construction site from 8 in the morning to 5 later on in the day and just from walking and not including any of the physical activity at work, I get more than 10.000 steps a day there
Honestly on my chillest days when i do basicly nothing i still manage to do 10000 steps and on average i do li 18or20 thousend im really a hyper active person i cant really stay still even when i have to be still for some reason i just swing my body left and right my personal record for steps that i recorded on a step counter was 40k steps on a mauntain trekking trip but im pretty sure there were days when i did much more than that cause my soles of the feet were burning like crazy , i also ride my bycycle for at least 10km every single day to visit my sister and 18/20 km if i have to get some groceries and i also lift
But i don't notice much of a difference until i hang out with other people of my age that'when i see how limited most of them are physically in confront of me things that feels simple to me for them are just too hard if we walk for a km they are already exhausted and i honestly think that the physical limitation also limits your capacity of experiencing life at its fullest immagine not being able to visit that temple or monument or place because you cant walk for a thousend meters more or cant do 200 stairs more that's just why im grateful to have an active and healthy lifestyle
This is essentially 1/4 of what we did everyday in PE class in High School. 10,000 steps is 4 miles. In PE the coach made the whole class run a mile.
It’s 5 miles
Having a dog means I walk 1 to 1.5 hours a day. Best decision I ever made was to get a dog 🐶.
@@JoaoPaulo-vk2we Good ...However, l do 2 hours heavy lifting, so if you start doing heavy like me, 10k steps is overkill.
Browney: saying to move the whole time during the video
Me: in a car trip and unable to move
In 2021 i walked every free day for anywhere from 15k to 30k steps a day but never had any serious fat/weight loss... I kept my eating the same, but weight didn't go down much. I have a feeling that my body 'needs' to be around the 80 to 85kg to be 'happy' or something...
I'd rather sprinting because it's short and very effective
I hit the gym 6days a week and easily walk more than 150 000 steps a week.. But I have to add I do not work an 8:00-17:00 job, But calories in and calories out are also an important factor
Big fan of you bro❤❤
no one has watched a minute of the video yet

I'm 18 and half stone and I'm doing 20000 steps a day and losing weight fast so far lost 11lbs in 13days 😊goal weaight is 15stone
On my last bulk a was struggling with cardio doing my 30 min jump rope sessions but this season it's a lot easier as i only walk for my cardio and i progress a lot better with this because i can do this everyday and not skip a session. I lost 8kg in 10 weeks.
It's literally watching matt de'vella all over again
Been walking 11k a workday for 3 years. It does help. Going to the gym and dieeting helps alot more tho. In my experince
Why does captain America always look sweaty 😂
Did the challenge but it was so good mate
If the guy in blue shirt ( aka captain america) walk 10000 steps a day , he can definitely beat mr olympia 😂
It is actually crazy how little you can get away with walking every day in modern society. This is why I set myself a one year challenge back in November 2023:
Every day, I track how many steps I walk, and how many minutes I exercise.
(pathetic, I know)
I have set myself the goal of 7.500 steps on a normal day, and 5.000 on a weekend day.
As captain America say I watched video while walking 😅
Ive walked 30,000 steps a day for 6 years & I don’t look at all like the thumbnail
u probably eat like shit
I walk 9000 steps everyday and I am in singapore and a student some times get 10000 but my highest steps Is 25,625 steps in one day everyone comment what is your highest steps in 24 hours its crazy
And I use Samsung health I love it gives me sense of achievement ❤🎉😊
I have a watch that tracks my steps and I do about 30,000 a day because I play soccer all the time
When we were virtual during Covid my gym teacher created a challenge who could get the most steps in a day. I was really determined so I got 32k steps that day and yeah he was surprised.
I walk about 2000 steps a day. And I have been doing this for about 2 years.
Netflix and anime help alot with walking on a treadmill
I walked 20k - 30k steps a day... After a month doing it, I can't stop and has been walking that much for a year now...
I walk 10000 steps a day for 30 days, then 10000 steps 5 days a week for 60 days...body never changedbat all. I always do the steps in the evening.
