Just getting into this and your video is so helpful. Is the overall length the length of the end mill when out of the collet? Or, is it the length of the end mill from the tip of the end mill to the collet? I can’t see why the program would need to know how much of the shaft is inside the collet, but I could understand the program needing to know how much is exposed as this would indicate how much clearance there would be. I hope this makes sense.
Good video. I would suggest, as good of talker as you are PLS do a video of the breakdown of all Meshcam. Example: why does JobSetUp SET PROGRAM ZERO give you numbers in the X&Y positioning when you zero the bit (top left corner example) OR why there is a SELECT MACHINE in job set up when you can do this when saving file. Just a great tutorial for all options and what they do from someone with your talent would be invaluable! Thanks again
Thanks for the video. I have a question. What if I want to make 10 of these cut with one process? I need to be able to mill multiple parts on a 4x5ft sheet.
How long did it take your machine to make the lion coin? I have a 3018 for the time being....just ordered a onefinity woodworker but I want to learn as much about meshcam as I can while waiting on the machine to arrive
Ok two questions, when I run it does it tell me when to change from roughing tool to finishing tool. Also I got an error about half way in, can you clear the error and pick up where you left off. Thanks for this tutorial
How do you add 2 roughing operations? Everytime I try to add the second roughing operation with a smaller bit, it just copies it and moves everything for that profile to the first roughing operation I did.
It was a nightmare downloading the 'free' STL file.. I would really like to see demo of the Standard version, since this is about beginners looking for a good tool.. $250 is a a big investment for beginner.. You assume viewers don't know how to download and install software, then you proceed to assume we need the Pro version. Why should I look at a $500 upgrade before deciding if the $250 will work for me? That said, thanks for the tutorial..
I'm sorry you had trouble. I wanted to show the full potential of the software in one tutorial. I also did this in partnership with the software company. The main idea is someone may be familiar with CNC but not computers. I know that sounds odd, but it describes quite a few pro's that I know. They can run a machine all day, but a PC can be foreign. That being said there are TONS of folks that are familiar with 3D printing and NOT CNC software. That is what MeshCAM was built for. Almost as a slicer for CNC.
Thank you for your video. This seems to be the easiest software for me to use.

Great video. I would have liked to have seen little more on the bits and how the affect cutting time.
