Awesome video, Dale! Add Molasses. Brown sugar will grow mold over time but store it separately & Mix it with sugar as needed to make brown sugar for your oatmeal & beans adding flavor to your stored foods. A non-food forever prep is propane. It’s a very stable fuel that lasts hundreds of years assuming the tanks doesn’t leak.
I didn’t know that brown sugar would grow mold, I’ve have had brown sugar for a couple of years haven’t had any problems yet. Thank you for letting us know, I’ll keep an eye on it from now own. I think making your own brown sugar is great, I’m going to try that the next time I need to restock. Thank you.
I know this is not for everyone cause not everyone has the time nor energy but you can do your own canned goods which in theory is healthier than store bought canned foods considering it won’t be loaded with sodium and preservatives. It may not last as long tho but still it will be shelf stable for many years. I have been canning for a year now and without even thinking about prepping for survival situations we easily have over 6 months of food supplies for 2 people. We also hunt which I get it’s not for everyone one too but we harvest deer, birds, rabbits and squirrels besides fish. The dogs eat everything we don’t want from wild game.
Thank you for sharing this.....lots of good tips in this video
Thanks Kanzee!

Thanks Dan!
If you have oats are in original carton in a cool dry place will it be ok after the expiration date
If your going by the Best By Date then yes. But in mylar bags with O2 absorbers they will last up to 15 years
Do you keep the item in the bag that it came in inside the box before putting in Mylar bag or open the product and empty into the Mylar bag?

Thanks for the video Dale. Question, I thought the canned fruit didn’t have as long of a shelf life due to the acidity?
Yes that's true. I should have edited that to include just vegetables. While it is possibly, I don't think I would trust it lol.
💯
Why would I need to have 5 year food stores?
You don’t need the stores, just the food in them
