I miss the old hyms I grew up listening to. Nowadays you're lucky if you hear Amazing Grace or The Old Rugged Cross!
I'm Music Director and Worship Leader in my church. We use hymns in every service. We use contemporary songs too, but the hymns need to be kept alive.
Me also ! I take out my hymn book and sing the old hymns. You can go on youtube and find the old hymns....Just put in Old Hymns.❤
Mark Lowery has an (almost) daily online hymn sing call "Just Whenever."
All noise and nothing with doctrine anymore jsut endless chants and they don't speak about Jesus as their lord and savior they use loose terms to accommodate any religion God is NOT pleased with the so called Music of today

I have said it before and I'm going to say it again. I look at you Michael W Smith as maybe this generation's Charles Wesley. Charles Wesley was part of the early Methodist movement and he wrote 6,500 hymns. I love Michael's Music just as much as I love the music and the hymns that Charles Wesley road.
The Lord and Michaels music saved me at a extremely dark time, my only warm light in a cold desolate place. I’ll never forget it, when that sinister voice whispered negative thoughts in my ear one song I’d listen to would give me glimpses of hope. I still weep when I hear it. I know who that voice was and he was rebuked completely. He didn’t win.

Now I'm dating myself lol but when I was a teen Christian, I can recall seeing myself standing in the mirror 🪞 using my hand as a 🎤 microphone singing at the top of lungs to Michael's cassette that included "Place in this world 🌎" 😌 Being that young that song gave me confidence to stand true to the faith 😇 All these years later, I'm still standing 🙋♀️and I can honestly say that it's because of Michael W Smith and Amy Grant, also my all time favorites ❤, that they paved the way for what Christian music is today

Too bad so much Christian music has gone woke and apostate. MWS is great friends with Amy Grant, who was one of the first back in the 80's.
@@GodisGracious1031Ministries I got Saved on 1/3/00 and was raised Catholic, so not familiar with the old hymns. I just pray for discernment and refuse to listen to singers and groups that have compromised. They're still out there, but getting rarer.
Believers it's time to get serious, Revelation 3:14-22 is real! Have you answered the knock? We are sharing this warning message as a comment to all post's of a Christian nature. As Jesus said in Matthew 10:27, "What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops."
As God said, it is foolishness to non-believers and we understand that.
Believers, though, hopefully, will know it is wisdom from God.
Last Days Message - Jesus Said To Build On His Sayings, He Also Said To Beware Of The Leaven Of The Pharisees. Many of us take it for granted that what we have been taught by religious leaders is what Jesus said.
Unfortunately, we are the blind being led by the blind. So much of what is in today's church developed over the centuries and much of it grew from the leaven of the leaders of the New Testament church. We were warned, in God's word, that unscrupulous leaders had already crept into the church.
Much of what has been added, and taken away from God's word, came from the leaven of leaders that we were warned about, and their teachings are now part and parcel of the church today.
We always need to get back to God's word and when we recognize something a leader taught us is not in God's word or something has been twisted or explained away, have the fortitude to walk away from such a leader. God already knows the leader is off and He wants you to walk away from that leader and know that He will be with you.
The true path to Jesus is narrow and is contained in God's word, and when millions follow leaders who teach things, such as holidays and other such things that are not in God's word, which the world also follows, that is the broadway and leads us to destruction.
Paul called out believers that were saying, we are of Paul or we are of Apollos, yet neither died for us and neither are the son of God. Today "believers" say we follow Calvin, we follow Luther, or we follow this particular denominational leader, none of those people died for us, so why do we claim we follow them? This is a major indicator that we are off, and we need to put that aside and get back to God's word and say we follow Jesus and His sayings. Believers we must do an examination of ourselves and see where we are following people rather than Jesus.
All believers need to be transformed by the renewing of their minds before it is too late. If believers don't know how to worship God, go to God's word and build on the sayings of Jesus, not on the words of man. Time to leave your own ways behind and follow God's word only. Be ready!
Religion created by man and traditions of man are not of God. If it is not in God's word, get rid of it. God is not referring to driving a car or things like that, this refers to how we worship and serve God. He who has ears to hear, let him hear. Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near.

I am sorry I love you, Kurt Cameron, but this one you miss the ball. Nowadays music is nothing to do with honoring God or worshiping. God is the old fashion gospel hymns of faith like Fanny Crosby, him and others that speak sound, doctrine, convicting souls, and bring them before the throne of grace. The music these days are nothing but chants and loose terms that can apply to any "God, and not the Lord Jesus Christ I'll stick with the old paths. I've seen good old fashioned churches to down the tubes countless times when they apply nowadays music and become woke have loose dress standards etc
