@@jinoziniosti5633 talk about crashing? Of course all of them yes and ? . I’m taking about today is better than old day . Control like suspension and speed and turning.
I was there. I was in the Air Force at the time stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, CA. Rode my 1981 Yamaha Maxim 650 all the way down to LA. Was bummed out that my rider, Brock Glover was not there. David Bailey too. Brock had a pinched nerve in his back and Bailey had the chicken pocks.
I'm amazed at the wagon trains going west a while back . When I can fly across the whole goddamn'd country in a few hours while drinking an adult beverage , and gleefully peering out the window
@18:43 "WHOO-HOO! He gets COMPLETELY SIDEWAYS...." 😆😆😆😆😆😆 compared to today's freestyle riders, Wardy was only looking at his back tire. But in 1986, that was a "Whip" and considered "Radical". It's neat to see the progression of tricks in motocross
I'd like to see a short documentary on the evolution of Supercross tracks. The old 80's ones looked teeth-jarring ( Moguls ).....now, they look far more set up for easier double/triple jumping.
This was such a great era of MX. i started going to races in 1986 as kid with my dad and brother and were all still fans today. But was something magic about it pre internet
This is much better racing than today’s 4 strokes
yes but old school 2 stroke dirt bike have hard time with control in 1980s . after 1990's and later today is better than old school control .
@@germanytank78 nah they crash now too

But old school 80’s control is way better than super old school 60’s and 70’s control. So it’s all good 👍🏾
I agree, even though 2 strokes are under powered compared to 4 strokes, much more exciting to watch them race
Not sure why I clicked this, I still have it on VHS, along with the 1985 500USGP. I was there, sitting between the triple and the finish line double.
Ronny Lechien is on him like Russian radiation lol...
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. LOL HAHAHAHA

I was THERE. I was at this event. Great racing. Good memories good times. Rick Johnson was so fast. . Love these old school classic races.

Is it just me, or was old school supercross much more technical than today?
It's not just you. They still have the whoops, but other than that, it's pretty smooth.
This was probably the best racing we'll ever see in this lifetime! Thanks for posting it.
"Like a Krishna on an airport traveler!" Huffman was the best.
Holly Toledo He slams the screen door ! "The Good ol' days "
Slicker than a mayonnaise sandwich!
I was able to watch this race on time warner cable tv when i was 12 years old
i was at this race.. epic
These tracks were so horribly designed..there wasnt any flow to them ...it amazes me they rode those heavy old bikes at all on some of these tracks
Uhhh, Well this is the 80’s. Pretty much the beginning of professional supercross.

RIP. Larry Huffman. 7/2/2024. Somehow, the sport seemed more innocent back then.
Thanks for posting.
