Oh shit, this is hilarious....and informative....and a life lesson for all those who hang out in thunder storms. And perhaps a bit of an anti-biscuit tirade. "Lightning-ologist....?" Now that I think of it - "Biscuits on the Bow" sounds like a really warm & cozy Hallmark movie. Or an Oprah book club nominee. At the museum - that biscuit in the bottle looked a tad bit more appetizing than the last one I got from my local McDonalds. Maybe the downtown Dallas Bars should go full blast with that idea - Biscuit In a Bottle....something to soak up the liquor and block your bowels for a week. Makes for a great night out. So cool, you are on the island where they do the little horses round up. When I was a kid I totally loved reading anything about it. There are even two children's books that any kid should love to read.... "Misty of Chincoteague" and also "Stormy, Misty's Foal" children's novels written by Marguerite Henry, (per Google, here are some facts) illustrated by Wesley Dennis, and published by Rand McNally in 1963. Both novels based on historical characters, human and equine, but many of the facts were changed in the stories for creative writing and embellishment. Loved them both. Would read them again even now that I'm an adult. Just so I can take a journey through time back when I was maybe 10 yrs old reading them. None of the rest of his family chose to be buried in the same tiny cemetery. Seems he is really alone but at least people are remembering him and bringing him little momentos. I like the way you say biscuits with a southern flare. I'm from the South and it truly is a good accent you are using. 19:01 Cool. You found out about the books and ponies. Now that I think of it - "Biscuits on the Bow" sounds like a really warm & cozy Hallmark movie. Or an Oprah book club nominee. At the museum - that biscuit in the bottle looked a tad bit more appetizing than the last one I got from my local McDonalds. Maybe the downtown Dallas Bars should go full blast with that idea - Biscuit In a Bottle....something to soak up the liquor and block your bowels for a week. Makes for a great night out. Anyway - love how Teresa at the museum just goes along with your flow and yet still tries to explain how Capt Chandler would perhaps normally act in a storm....he's used to them....he's out in them all the time....the weather changes, etc.......And then goes right back to the whole absurdity of Biscuits on the Bow. Taxidermy - that's the scariest thing. What if we did that w/people - might put the whole house of wax idea out of business for good. Anyway loved this to bits. So glad that you got to see the biscuit and share said biscuit with us....Thankfully we weren't on the bow when said biscuit was shared. Honestly loved the heck out of this. Thanx for all you do. When I was a kid I totally loved reading anything about it. There are even two children's books that any kid should love to read....
"Misty of Chincoteague" and also "Stormy, Misty's Foal" children's novels written by Marguerite Henry, (per Google, here are some facts) illustrated by Wesley Dennis, and published by Rand McNally in 1963. Both novels based on historical characters, human and equine, but many of the facts were changed in the stories for creative writing and embellishment. Loved them both. Would read them again even now that I'm an adult. Just so I can take a journey through time back when I was maybe 10 yrs old reading them.
None of the rest of his family chose to be buried in the same tiny cemetery. Seems he is really alone but at least people are remembering him and bringing him little momentos.
