I wasn't talking about the stations of the Cross. I was answering Ron when he said he didn't know what SDS stands for on the headstones of the brothers, father's and priests and bishops and Cardinals
Oh Ron, there's a story related to the school. Not scary but still sad and tragic, all the same. A student named Mickey Crowe became a local basketball legend there in the early to mid 1970's. He was a very talented player who was coached by his father. But after his high school career, Mickey got lost in drugs and alcohol, and mental illness. He was homeless on the streets of Washington, D.C., when he witnessed the attempted assassination on President Reagan. He later returned to Wisconsin and is still alive today in Eau Claire. He also has since co-written a book. On a more pleasant note, Ron, the next time you come to Saint Nazianz, check out the Tom Cat Lounge. The owner is a big time Marilyn Monroe fan and has her pool table room decorated as such, plenty of Norma Jean memorabilia.
The different pictures of when Christ was carrying the cross and fell for the first time and so on it's called Stations of the Cross, I grew up Catholic my entire life so I just figured I'd leave the name thanks for the video Ron! Happy Halloween!
It sounds so windy there? Inside the crypt, it sounds like whispering. Am I the only one who hears whispers? Good, creepy episode for Halloween!! Thanks Ron!!
Well I gotta say that this place is extremely odd, weird and beautiful. The creepy factor is huge. Kudos to you Ron for that exploration and taking us along 😊
Was it just me or was the background audio super creepy, the sounds off the highway, the creaky door, the birds, it was all just super eerily kinda creepy. 😳 This made a great Halloween video 😁
I’m here all alone…….. my husband’s at a Halloween party but I stayed home TO WATCH THIS HALLOWEEN PREMIER! UPDATE: It was worth staying home for. It Made me jittery. My husband came home and I was watching the video with my EarPods and he scared the @#$ out of me!!!! LOL.
It is the Stations Of The Cross you were thinking of. It is a series of pictures or carvings portraying events in the Passion of Christ, from his condemnation by Pontius Pilate to his entombment. The images are usually mounted on the inside walls of a Catholic churches or chapels but may also be erected in such places as cemeteries, corridors of hospitals and religious houses, or on mountainsides.
Great story Ron and a very spooky place. That wind sure added some drama haha. It's such beautiful grounds though and it's sad to see some of those buildings so unkept.
The squeaky door in the mausoleum was a perfect addition to the atmosphere 😊. Definitely a creepy place, so quiet. I expected a ghostly student to peek out the window of the seminary! 👻
Thanks for sharing this with us Ron. The scenery there is very nice and the use of the drone was amazing. They call those the Stations of the Cross. If my cousin was here he could tell us all about the history of this place. I remember hearing him speak of it periodically years ago. He was a Monsignor in the cathedral of the catholic faith here. Unfortunately he passed away back in May of this year. I am not a hundred percent sure but I believe he has been there from the way he talked about it. In his early years with the church they moved him around a lot. I remember hearing him even mentioning Father Ambrose name in the conversations at family gatherings. Thanks again Ron be safe on your travels and peace be with you. 🙏🙏✝️✝️
I live in Wisconsin and had a coworker that went to school there. He never said too much about it. I went to Catholic school and had the meanest nun ever! Sister Leah, mention her name and all my old schoolmates shudder! Schools nowadays need Sister Leah’s, that would straighten kids out!
The term for the Picture stops is Stations of the Cross. Maybe all those pigeons are the souls of the deceased monks and nuns protecting the property. Too bad though it has gone to ruin. A good one for Halloween.
About the kid who committed suicide in that school believe it. I went to Catholic schools during the 1950s. While 98% of the priests were saints some of the nuns were nuts though very smart women.
That door trying to close behind you freaked me out Ron. You were brave to stay in there I would’ve been so out of there! Hi Ron, and Happy Halloween. Great videos, keep up the great work , really enjoy watching your videos. I very seldom talk but that is my shyness problem. The altars you spoke about are for the Stations Of The Cross. Take care.
You are a short distance from where my dad was raised and cousins still reside in Manitowoc. I remember doing the stations of the cross in the late 60’s to early 70’s at church. Lots of kneeling.

What a beautiful calm place but with unsettling undercurrents...your snake camera would have been useful to look through the windows of the seminary. Private property or not. As I listen to teh fact that the children suffered at the hands of the nuns, etc., I would have to say that here in Canada the indigenous children were treated with such cruelty in the Residential schools. Oh, and the walk with the 12 places for the pictures is the Stations of the Cross,
Wow that was spooky. Interesting story Ron After Oschwald died in 1873, dissension arose within the Association, and legal battles took their toll on membership and finances of the Association and the land 3840 acres. The chapel was created by ambrose who founded St. Nazianz. After a storm in 2000 damaged the chapel it was restored by the St. Nazianz Historical Society.

I live and come from Germany and i watch your videos for a whole time now, and i am fascinated with your content, some people may find it weird, but i think its interesting to learn things about forgotten times . I haven´t watch this video to the very end but i want to translate the german words over the doors of the mausoleum. They say " Born on 14th of March 1801 and on 16th of August in 1833 ordained to a priest in Mundelfingen Baden. Died on 27th of February in 1873" Mundelfingen is a little village in Baden Würtemberg Germany Black Forest Region. The Inscription inside the mausoleum says "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. From now on they shall rest in their labors, for their works will follow them." I hope this will help and i hope your content goes on for a long time. And now i watch this video to its end😀
You are referring to what are called The Stations of the Cross, and more than likely, that is what the “little altars” were once for. The Stations were a complete depiction of Jesus’ last days from his betrayal to his sentencing by Pilate to his crucifixion to being laid in the tomb. There are fourteen Stations. The depiction of his carrying the cross, falling twice and walking to Golgotha is where the name “The Way of the Cross” was derived from. Many monasteries, convents and seminaries have them outside. Churches have them inside the actual sanctuary on the walls so that the people can see the story as well as hear it. They were most likely removed if the scenes were in wood and damaged due to the elements or they are hanging in the chapel on the grounds. The diocese may have had them donated to another church, Catholic School or University or monastery. Selling or destroying them wouldn’t necessarily be considered due to their holy nature. It’s a very pristine place. I’m intrigued by the wind. 😊
For some reason this place is absolutely spine chilling... even though it is a stunningly beautiful location. Very peaceful place, but heebies and jeebies were sure singing!
The term you’re thinking of is “Stations of the Cross”, to describe those little altar-like structures

HAPPY HALLOWEEN RON.....
Well you could have knocked me over with the tombstone
Lord, the howling of that wind blowing through made this video very creepy. Wow.
For some reason this place is absolutely spine chilling... even though it is a stunningly beautiful location. Very peaceful place, but heebies and jeebies were sure singing!
agree!! it was very very eerie there as I walked. I was happy to get back in my truck!
